Haven't been here in a while and saw they had a great looking smoked beef rib special so I decided to drive down and try it out. And let me tell you I'm happy I did. It was outstanding and not something you see around this area often. I also got the Scampi Littleneck Clams which were great. I sat at the bar since I was solo and the service was quick and friendly. Definitely recommend checking them out

Chestnut Hill is an upscale American restaurant that specializes in steak and seafood. They are located on N Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, and open every day from 4 - 9PM. I never give 5 stars, so you know my experience was exceptional. The food, service, and ambience were all on point. All of the food was enjoyable, our server was fantastic, and we had a great view of the pond. It was my mom's birthday, so I'm happy she had a great time. She said it was one of the best places she's been too since she moved to Myrtle Beach.

We were recently on vacation in Myrtle Beach and had an excellent dinner experience at Chestnut Hill restaurant. I had the Mixed Grilled Seafood with salmon scallops and shrimp, my wife had Beef Tips and Crab cakes everything was excellent, service was also excellent. We were seated promptly, no waiting at all and seated right beside the water, with a great view of turtles, birds and even saw two alligators, wow! We highly recommend them if you're looking for a great dinner experience.

Party of 5, celebrating my birthday! We all got different entrees but came for the Alaskan King Crab. Our waitress was amazing. Food was spectacular and so well presented. I got salad and shrimp scampi. Prices were reasonable! We sat at a window table and although it was raining, we saw two alligators! Our waitress brought us a brownie Supreme with a candle and 5 spoons for dessert. Delicious! Look forward to going again.

I am a local and I have never eaten here before. The service was very good, I ordered the eggplant, it was tasteless, my husband and child ordered the crab legs and crab cakes, they loved it. I was disappointed that they do not offer a locals discount.

We enjoyed Chestnut Hill enough to come back twice while we were on vacation. The food was great- my favorites were the potato chip appetizer and the honey lime dressing they made for salads. The best part of our experience was without a doubt our server, Dalila. She was kind, friendly and perfectly attentive. We really appreciated her!

Google
I wasn't to sure about eating here, see we have a chestnuthill diner back at home and it's what you think diner food is. Well let's just say I am so glad I listened to my husband and tried it. The food was amazing. Our waiter and I wish I could remember his name was on point with everything he recommended. The only downside is that I don't live closer. We will definitely be back next time we are in Myrtle Beach. A 10/10

Google
Amazing dining experience at Chestnut Hil Restaurant with exceptional quality food, graciously served by a friendly server, Ms Selena, and smiling, efficient and customer service oriented staff at very reasonable prices at a very convenient location along 17, Kings Highway in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Yelp
This restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. I asked where the handicapped ramp was located. They said I would need to go back outside and enter the door at the side of the restaurant. There were three steps down to the dining area, so I had to hop. I twisted my right ankle and fell on my broken left foot (which should be non-weight bearing for 8 more weeks). Upon completion of our meal, we found the exit with a ramp was locked from the inside. This is a fire/safety hazard. It took three employees several minutes to get it open. I hopped up three steps with a broken foot and was almost to our vehicle by the time they got it open. We were there for thanksgiving dinner. Most of the food was very good, but due to it being a buffet, some items were cold. I would return, but after my broken foot heals. I would also suggest emergency exits be available and unlocked from the inside in the event of an actual emergency.

Yelp
What a wonderful restaurant this is! Everything here is fantastic! Great service, they seated us in a nice location right at the window overlooking the water. Great server- Lacey was extremely personable and made us feel like we were her only table. Food was beyond fantastic! We both had steaks, mine came with crab cakes and they were perfect. Drinks were not watered down and delicious! Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Beautiful setting, very welcoming. Spacious dining rooms. And a guest alligator. We had a party of eight and they sat us as soon as we arrived for our 6:30 reservation. The hostess seemed excited to have us and made us feel special. Our waitress, Bryce, did a great job and was very attentive. Everyone's meal were perfectly presented and all were happy. I have to give a special shout out for my pork Marsala. Might be the best sauce I have ever eaten. Really. I'll go back just for that. Side salads were plenty big and fresh. Cheddar biscuits and blueberry muffins by the basketful. Just be aware that you must be able to navigate steps to the dining room or back to the restrooms.

Yelp
I was very impressed with Chestnut Hill! In 8 years I missed this hidden gem! I dined at the bar which is very pretty & has a days gone vibe! Steve, the bartender was wonderful & gave me honest opinions when I asked various questions about some of their dishes. I ordered the HH tuna bites & house salad & both were delicious, well presented & the serving sizes were impressive. The other patron's were also very friendly & made for a pleasant time. I definitely recommend & will return!

Dona L.

Yelp
Classic restaurant with great view, excellent value & Gators! This place has it all, warmth & charm. entrees canoe with a chilled salad & cheddar biscuits & muffins. Everything is homemade! I had a wonderful filet & added an 8oz lobster tail. My date had the seafood platter blackened. The meals were delicious! Ended the meal with strawberry shortcake for 2! Highly recommend

Thomas W.

Yelp
Had shrimp and grits, don't bother!!!! Shrimp undercooked, tasteless brown gravy. Homemade biscuits were dry and crumbly and they said their eggplant parmigiana was thinly sliced and it was large chunks.Just wondering if they changed ownership. Our server was great!

Fred B.

Yelp
Always try to eat here when in town. Beautiful setting. Nice bar. View on the water/pond. Great service and fantastic food. Nice basket of blueberry muffins and cheese bread to try while pondering the menu. Yummy oysters Rockefeller. We all had veal Neptune which was absolutely delicious. Lightly breaded veal, Hollandaise sauce with scallops, shrimp, and crab meat. Lots of places to eat at the a beach. Got to try this family owned local place. Always good.

Mary Ellen M.

Yelp
Everything was wonderful! The food was divine, service-friendly, and great! The ambiance was pleasant and comfortable! Wish we found this place years ago. I had the Seafood Florentine and words cannot describe the quality of the dish. It was divine! My date had the Veal Neptune and he said it was the best veal dish he ever had!!1 Love this place and wish we lived closer!

Francina F.

Yelp
We had one on the best meals in recent memory here tonight! Everything from salad dressing to dessert was excellent! I had the Seafood Florentine, loaded with fresh shrimp and scallops, on top of pasta with spinach and tomatoes in a lemon butter sauce...very delicious! The service was first rate and the view over the waterway was relaxing. I could not finish my banana pudding and continue to savor every bite that I brought home...in a cute mason jar! We will return!

Theresa P.

Yelp
Food was tasteless and pricey. Our chip appetizer had a hair in it. My husband who is gluten free asked if a special was. He was told it was and then got it but without the sauce?? Service was good. Ambiance was nice.

Mike M.

Yelp
We have always had amazing service, wonderful food and enjoyed the great location of Chestnut Hill. I recently had a Birthday party for my 80 year old mother there and it was incredible!!!!!!! The experience far exceeded my expectations. My guests came from several other cities and states for the party and raved about how amazing the food was. The level of service was superior. We felt like VIPs!!! Not to mention that the value was fabulous!!!

Diane B.

Yelp
This was my first time dining at this restaurant. We were a family party of 7 celebrating a birthday. Our reservation was honored & we were promptly seated by the window overlooking a beautiful pond with turtles & an alligator! It was a beautiful evening. Our waitress, Lonnie, was very attentive & personable. The food selection was excellent.. either seafood or meat. What I really enjoyed was the option of small plate entree or regular sized at appropriate prices. Also, they offered a FREE birthday dessert to the person being celebrated. I recommend this restaurant & will definitely be returning for another delicious & wonderful evening.

Yelp
So before I get into this, I'll say that I am a firm believer in reviewing for what a restaurant intends to be rather than some objective (that is in actuality subjective) standard across the board. This is not where you take your foodie friends for adventurous dining. This is where you go when you've got grandma and a six year old in your party but still want a nicer option than TGI Fridays. And for that, you'll get your money's worth. (And you'll get to bed at a reasonable hour, as they were starting to shut down at 8:30 pm on a Saturday.) We split the fried pickles for an appetizer -- thick breading that stayed intact after biting in. Then came the salads, which were a fresh garden mix, and a massive bread basket with six biscuits and eight mini muffins for a table of three! These were honestly the highlight -- fresh, hot, and moist (yeah, I know). And definitely no fighting over who gets a second biscuit because everyone does. The entrees were...well, they were fine. Two of us got vegetarian options (shoutout for an actual vegetarian section on the menu!). The cauliflower piccata was a bit of a miss; what's described as seared cauliflower steak came out as steamed cauliflower florets. Every entree, by the way, comes with a vegetable and the "potato du jour" -- you don't get a choice for your veggie or potato. Today's offerings were steamed mixed veggies (with not much in the way of seasoning) and a decent mashed potato. The other vegetarian plate was the mushroom Marsala -- the sauce tasted homemade and the mushrooms were sautéed well. The daily vegetable -- that aforementioned medley -- wasn't appealing, unfortunately. The third plate at the table was the combination platter of flounder and shrimp, which got a thumbs up from the orderer. However, the small portion was NOT small, so I'd suggest avoiding the full-size option unless you have plenty of room -- and plenty of room for leftovers. Overall, the portions are enormous, and everything tastes like it was made with care. The staff is friendly across the board. Is it a superb, mind-expanding meal? Nah. But it should have enough to satisfy the picky, spice-avoidant eaters in your party while still having options for everyone. One last thing: they had some surprising but pleasant background music, with Tom Petty, RayLaMontagne, and The Shins making multiple appearances and some Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd sprinkled in.

Jim K.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed Chestnut Hill's Thanksgiving buffet today. They put out an incredible spread with a variety of salads, meats, vegetables, and deserts. All of the traditional Thanksgiving dishes are there: Turkey and dressing; sweet potato casserole; green beans, mashed potatoes, etc. There's also smoked ribs, prime rib, ham, lamb, fried chicken, shrimp, and Mahi Mahi. Desserts included pecan pie, banana pudding, and several other sweet treats. Everything was very tasty and we all certainly got our fill. Our family has a new Thanksgiving tradition that is every bit as good as our home cooked dinner and soooo much easier giving us more time to enjoy family. Make plans early and get your reservations in because they will book up.

Yelp
Super disappointed with the restaurant. We went for my birthday, and were let down by the service and the food. For as much as we spent, I would have hoped for better. The vegetables were mushy and bland. The building itself was dirty, with cobwebs in the corners and on the window hangings. Ugh. Also, my son only finished half his dinner, and the waiter cleared the plate and didn't ask if we wanted a box, just took it and we didn't see him again. Overall, a total bummer.

Yelp
I am sorry to be slacking on this Yelp's posting but I lost track of myself but hey here we are. So my folks now live down in Myrtle Beach, SC and while I always love to see them I am also kinda stoked about all the different Check-Ins and Yelps that I get to do to inspire the world to venture forth once again. During my last visit we went to Chestnut Hill for Father's Day brunch and they had a wonderful buffet set out for the patrons that featured a little bit of everything one could want. When I do a buffet that is mostly breakfast items, I like to make two visits to the line and bring a bunch of stuff that works together in my head. I opted for portions of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, grits and even some of the veggies they had. All very tasty and finished to plate clean status. The best way to buffet is to NOT over pile the plate and just finish that and then get some different stuff. That's what I do at least. It was early and I wasn't drinking so coffee and an orange juice would be fine for me. The restaurant is located right next to a small lake and that finds them posting signs about not feeding the alligators. I walked around the fences to see if I spotted one for photo sake but didn't see any. I did observe a bunch of lounging turtles who were enjoying the sun on a small pier type thing. The food was great as was the service and atmosphere and while I cannot determine when I myself will be there again I can highly recommend it to the traveler or resident who hasn't gotten around to being there yet. Nice work Chestnut Hill, you impressed me and during these chaotic times that is not always easy to do.

Yelp
We had a coupon for the Chestnut Hill Restaurant and a couple of $25 vouchers from a timeshare presentation that could be used towards the bill (when we presented both, we were told that the vouchers could not be combined with the $20.00 coupon), so we made a reservation. The service was great from the time that we arrived until the time that we left. Selena, the waitress, was professional and extremely courteous. We were seated by a window that had a view of a small pond. The ambiance was nice and we were looking forward to enjoying a nice meal. Complimentary cheese bread and muffins were brought to the table and each entree came with a salad, potato du jour and vegetables. I ordered the crab cakes and was extremely disappointed. They were definitely not as advertised. They were mushy and had several pieces of crab shell (or at least I hope that they were shells). I ordered the regular portion that included two crab cakes , but could barely eat one. The vegetables and salad were both good and the potatoes were okay. I may not visit this restaurant again, but if I do, it will definitely be because of the excellent service that was provided by the staff (especially by Selena).

Yelp
If there was one thing I wanted to on vacation was to find an all you can eat Sunday Brunch. This is my first time in Myrtle Beach and I searched on yelp and contacted Chestnut Hill for a reservation. The menu and the photos did not disappoint. The hostess was warm and very friendly. Our server Penny was was very nice and professional. If you go ask for Penny. The food was fantastic and they had a great variety dishes. They kept the food coming and it was hot and fresh. A good mixed of breakfast and lunch. I had the fruit, prime rib and eggs benedict. Others in my party were very pleased with their food. Ask me if I would I go back. HECK YEAH!!!!!! I am fan of Chestnut Hill. JoAnn from District Heights MD

Evan H.

Yelp
The food is good and the ambiance is great but the prices are way too high. The service is the same that you'll receive anywhere else so nothing spectacular. If you're looking to overpay for a white tablecloth dinner then this is the place to go but if you want the exact same meal at a more reasonable price then go anywhere else.

Chrissy N.

Yelp
Great restaurant. Alligator outside was a major hit for our family. Food was excellent. Service was great.

Michael P.

Yelp
Best Happy Hour menu. Fresh homemade items. Steak tips, crab cakes, sliders, and more. Friendly and attentive bartenders make this a great and fairly priced restaurant.

Rickey B.

Yelp
Chestnut Hill is always a favorite. Ambiance is always special with cloth tablecloths, low music playing all while overlooking a beautiful pond that has a fountain. A great date night place. The bread basket filled with warm house-made muffins hits the spot. The salad is prepared so nice with great dressing choices. Most of the time I order a seafood dish and it never disappoints. And the service is always splendid with attentive, caring servers. Don't pass up eating here.

Lee B.

Yelp
Stopped here for dinner yesterday on the way back to the condo after a drive up the coast. I had the crab stuffed mahi with vegetables and salad and a gin & tonic. Seemed a little too upscale for my liking. Almost seemed like the place where they require at least a golf shirt. Anyway, the food was really good and the gin & tonic was one of the best I've had. I just really felt "out of place" wearing a nice tee shirt and cargo shorts. Visited this place on a recommendation. Not sure I'll be back. The food and ambiance was excellent but it just doesn't seem like the kind of place I'd make a regular visit to. Maybe I need to make a return visit just to make sure.

Gary O.

Yelp
A little tired local place. Prices the same as other places. Server nice but a bit distracted. Watch the turtles and alligators in the lake as you dine!

Martine K.

Yelp
We had fabulous service here and it has great ambience. They are following Covid guidelines with table being socially distanced. Service by Khalehla totally made the evening. She was truly the highlight of our evening. Unfortunately we didn't get a window seat but we were close enough to see a gator approaching. No turtles climbed on the dock but we did see one bobbing up and down. The food is good and price wise decent. Was it the best grade steak I ever had? No. But it was tasty and very reasonable. Vegetables and roasted potatoes accompany the main dish. A salad is also given and their house vinaigrette is really nice. The biscuits and muffins were good too. All in all a very enjoyable evening. Thank you Khalehla.

Planas J.

Yelp
O my gaw! This is a must to visit while in Myrtle Beach the staff, the atmosphere this food are ridiculously tasty and amazing the lobster and ribeye steak with the Cajun blacken shrimp is a must!!!! We will be back!!!

Rod C.

Yelp
Great food and pricing is inline with the local cuisine options near by. The dining area was nice and open and offered a great atmosphere for a nice dinner from a very professional staff the minute you walk through the door.

Layla A.

Yelp
Today was a big fat one for chestnut hill!! Usually is very good when we come every year! My boyfriend is complaining about a sick stomach after ordering the New York strip special with a blue cheese reduction and let's just say it was more of a blue cheese chonk on the top of a mediocre steak... they claimed to have "lost our reservation".. coincidentally the same thing that happened last year, and our server tended to her big party in the other room the entire time.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
Party of 4. Wednesday night. Mid July. 6:15 P.M. dinner. Perfect! Chestnut Hill was an ideal restaurant for our evening meal with friends. It is a lovely building in a beautiful setting alongside water, birds, and even alligators (although we did not see any gators). The menu is varied, with options for every palate, including some regional specialties. We called for reservations just a couple of hours before going, and were quickly accommodated by a very friendly and helpful hostess. When we arrived, we found plenty of available parking despite numerous customers. Our table and seating were very comfortable. There were two steps down into the dining room where we were seated, but the handrails made it relatively easy to navigate (for those with mobility issues). I did not inquire about full accessibility seating, but I am guessing that they have it--- something to ask about next time. Our server, Lea, was outstanding. Friendly, knowledgable, welcoming, and attentive, she was the consummate professional. After we were seated, a bountiful basket of cheddar biscuits and mini blueberry muffins was delivered. It was a great way to begin the meal! Yum! My menu selections included She-Crab soup that was creamy, filled with bits of crab, and very flavorful. The side mixed greens salad had an especially delicious blue cheese dressing on the side. I also ordered their crab stuffed mushrooms that were absolutely wonderful! The stuffing was perfectly flavor-balanced. From the large menu of entrees, I chose the Shrimp Scampi. The shrimp were so fresh and prepared beautifully, and the Angel hair pasta and Scampi sauce were scrumptious. Others in our party gave great reviews of their Shrimp and Grits, Fried Green Tomatoes (amazing presentation!), Seafood Florentine with scallops and shrimp, and New York Cheesecake. I highly recommend the Derby Pie for dessert. Having grown up in Kentucky, I've enjoyed some really terrific Derby Pie, and Chestnut Hill's version hits the mark! What an unexpected throwback for me. We found the prices to be very reasonable for this level of dining and service, and would definitely return to dine at Chestnut Hill again.

Branson B.

Yelp
Went to the famous Sunday brunch for the first time in about 10 years. They changed up the layout post-Covid and now have the food in another room versus down the center of the dining room. This detracted from the experience a little but I get they want to create a little more separation. Food was solid, variety/quality was what you expect for $30 a person. Service was attentive and view is always great. My only disappointment was the dessert. For a place that has amazing homemade desserts on their dinner menu, I think they could have stepped up their brunch offerings.

Rhonda C.

Yelp
Wonderfull meal and excellent service. Will add as a routine vacation dining experience,

Ernie L.

Yelp
The wife and I come to Myrtle Beach at least once a year for a week, chestnut Hill is a location we always go to for at least on dinner and this year we went there on a Thursday evening with reservation at 6 PM. We had a friend with us and on arrival we were immediately seated. The food and service were as they are every time we go there, great food and terrific service. Definitely a location you should visit while in Myrtle Beach.

Ray C.

Yelp
A first visit to Chestnut Hill was a very pleasant experience. Celina our waitress was very personable and helpful. We were seated by the window where we could watch the turtles. The feeling of the restaurant is very nice old school. The menu was very slanted to seafood but had a nice selection of other dishes. We all had different entrees including a seafood dish with various types of seafood and baked with ch. Another had a seafood platter. Another chicken parmigiana and myself a ribeye being allergic to shellfish. We all enjoyed our meals. They had a happy hour special of buy one get one free shrimp cocktail with huge shrimp. All in all no doubt we would go back for sure.

John B.

Yelp
Great service fantastic food We have been there several times over the past few years. We returned for a dinner with friends and were not disappointed with the quality of food the portions and the drinks were outstanding! The business continues to make you feel special!

Erin L.

Yelp
I sat at the bar because it was happy hour. The service and food were delicious. I only hesitate to give 5 stars because there were no plastic dividers at the bar, so I had to distance myself from others.

Sage D.

Yelp
Popped in for a quick lunch! The food was superb, fresh tasting, and a lot of flavor. It came out super quickly. The firecracker shrimp sauce was delicious, the tuna salad was HUGE that I had to take some home and the steak bowl was super tasty. Portion sizes are great here. They even gave us free coleslaw to try, which coming from Pittsburgh, we were thrilled about. Our server, Melissa, was so nice and friendly. Quick with refills and checking on us. Four stars though, not five, because we are currently in a pandemic and nobody had masks on or gloves on or anything of the sort, which made us feel a bit uneasy. We were one of two tables in the restaurant during a slow lunch, so I'm hoping things may be a little different during busier times?

Carole K.

Yelp
From start to finish we had a fantastic meal today. Our waitress, Selena was so gracious and helpful in suggesting choices and we were not disappointed! Even ordering the small portion we still took home leftovers!! Seafood casserole and blackened salmon were our selections and served along with red mashed potatoes and fresh green beans and cauliflower were perfect. Salad before the meal along with biscuits and muffins and Selena even gave us a taste of their she crab soup to try in small cups that was flavorful. She was very attentive to our table and made sure water was always in the glass. We will definitely return with friends to introduce our newest favorite restaurant!! Almost forgot that we were seated at the window to enjoy the atmosphere of the pond and turtles

EUGENE R D.

Yelp
Wonderful ambience fountain water front we had seafood casserole fish and shrimp cherry cobbler excellent one of our favorites would definitely come back

Susan A.

Yelp
Couldn't wait for my ahimsa grade fresh tuna to arrive at my table. One bite and it was clear that the tuna was NOT fresh. Maybe it was fresh last month, but not tonight. The taste of ammonia was horrible. My husband's crab cake was more "cake" than crab. Our waitress was wonderful. Removed my tuna, brought me the lousy crab cake, but it was too late. What was supposed to be our "vacation farewell" meal was ruined. When I went up to the woman who was sitting behind the desk in the lobby to recommend that the chef remove tuna from rhe "fresh fish" boards, she told me she had nothing to do with it. We have eaten here before, but never again.

Greg B.

Yelp
Had gone there before and had excellent food. We decided to go back a few months later. A big disappointment in the food quality. The chef undercooked the bacon wrapped scallop appetizer. The veal dinner with shrimp and scallops was bland, scallops undercooked again, the vegetables had been boiled and resembled a plate of mush, the shrimp was OK and the veal was blend. Another meal of the petit fillet was cooked right but not real flavor to it (no spices used to cook it). On the flip side, the service was great and the ambience was nice. But at the end of the day you go there for the food and the meal was disappointing for all of us Sounds like a chef issue.

Diane T.

Yelp
What a gem! Food was excellent! I had a fillet done medium rare cooked perfectly! Garlic mashed potatoes a real treat! My husband had seafood trio blackened and he said it was delicious. The assorted breads were amazing. Our waiter Joshua was attentive and informative about the menu. Key Lime pie was fresh and finished off a very nice dinning experience!

Kimberly A.

Yelp
Thanksgiving dinner was incredible. Prime rib was like butter and the cornbread stuffing was to die for!! Exceptional service!

Somar D.

Yelp
Great service and great food! Will definitely be returning! This was a choice on a whim and it really worked out for us.

Penny B.

Yelp
I had the pork chops and it was delicious. The deserts were to dye for and the staff was all very professional. Couldn't ask for a better dinner

Vonda H.

Yelp
Definitely not my favorite. Nothing original or unique. Fried food over battered. I had a chicken dish with a lemon sauce and didn't care for it

Lisa D.

Yelp
Very nice restaurant with very good food. We sat next to a window so my daughter could watch the turtles while we were eating. I had the broiled seafood platter and my mom had the shrimp scampi over angel hair. Both were very good. The pasta dish was a little too lemony for me, but lemon lovers will like it. The rolls and biscuits were delicious as was the homemade key lime pie. I will definitely go back.

Amanda W.

Yelp
We ate there last night. I wasn't excited as the rating was 4.0, but I was very pleased after we arrived. While some options were a little pricey, the food really was very good. The service was also very good. Their pre-dinner breads were awesome! I had scallops and my husband had the veal. Large portions, get your money's worth, and I did take home a slice of key lime pie which was very good also. We also sat overlooking a wetland area where I could see birds and turtles. Very good dining experience!
