Stayed for 3 nights. Wonderful heritage property. A bit run down but they have tried to do their best to maintain the property as best as they can. In the heritage part. Rooms are decent but a bit tight on space. Breakfast was pretty monotonous. No footwear allowed past main door. Staff are always willing to help. Gopakumar the GM is always willing to give you tips on places to visit etc. Paid around 10k per night.

Staying at Chettinad heritage mansion was such a lovely experience. We enjoyed everything from the bullock cart ride and heritage village visit to the peaceful temple visits. The guide explained the history in such an engaging way, and the staff were genuinely warm and helpful throughout. The candlelight dinner was very special, the food was tasty, and overall it felt like a perfect mix of culture, comfort, and care. I left with some really good memories and would happily come back again. Definitely a place I’d recommend to anyone who wants to experience culture, history, and warm hospitality in one place. – Prathap D. Nair

Chettinadu Mansion is a beautiful heritage stay with super friendly staff, great ambience, and loads of local charm. The mansion is well maintained, full of character, and perfectly located to explore the area, a wonderful mix of tradition, comfort, and hospitality. I would highly recommend.

Authentic traditional Chettinad palace. Value for money. Don't skip the palace tour, and use the free bicycles there to explore roads and palaces around. We really enjoyed the stay there. Staffs are super friendly and they are ready to serve you with the dishes of your choice and that is also prices reasonable. They will never disappoint you. Rooms have airconditioner but the heat is that much, it was not cooling that much. However the experience of the historic room we really enjoyed. Understand the Chettinad history before going there. You will really enjoy the stay.

From the moment you step into this 100+ year-old palatial home, you are transported to an unforgettable journey into South India’s rich heritage. The hospitality here is just as royal as the setting. Take time to explore the mansion’s stunning architecture, the antique collections, and nearby heritage streets filled with Chettinad homes.

I stayed at the Chettinad Mansion quite recently, at Karaikudi. It was quite a culturally lit experience. The mansion itself was beautifully architected by Ramanathan Chettiar himself. The rooms have undergone limited modernization, with the same tiles, paintings and architecture which was popular 100's of years ago.The service and hospitality is really good. Its located in area surrounded by lots of chettiar houses, which in turn are abandoned for some reason. The famous Chettinad palace is just 3 minutes walk from there. Its peaceful to stay here as there is not much people around the locality. We also had breakfast from there which was limited but then authentic chettinad taste. It was amazing to see such a mansion in an era were technology is and modernization is taking over rapidly.Definitely a must visit place in Tamil Nadu.

Chettinadu Mansion, Kanadukathan was a good place. Their food, designs, and heritage/culture were all showcased neatly. It was located right next to key spots like Chettinad Palace, the temple and others. However, their service was not so good. It was very difficult to book as they were not responding. It took 2 days for them to respond to our call. Their room service was ok. When we tried to call via telephone, nobody answers. Even at night theres no staff to guard. What if someone has an emergency and they don't respond? Bathroom was not the same like what they showed in their website. Excluding all of the downsides, the mansion was really nice and stood out from other hotels. It looks old-fashioned and has millennial-type switchboards. Overall it was an okayish experience.

The hostel is an old Chettinad Mansion converted into a so-called heritage hotel. The basic things are good, but the heritage is not well maintained. They claim to be a 3 star hotel but the service and the amenities are not upto the mark. They claim to have a swimming pool but it's 500 m from the property and you have to take the keys with you and open it yourself. The staff was friendly and helpful however and guided us to activities around. They give complementary bicycles to roam around the village which was a great experience. Their kitchen orders close at 5 pm which is very weird and you will have a hard time finding dinner later as this is a small village. If you want to experience a heritage hotel don't go here try the other ones.
