This is the best restaurant in Camargue. Second to none. But you must go on Sunday for lunch when there is live music. Food is simple, nothing refined here and you must not be vegan. And it is simply excellent. Staff is very friendly and it just feels like you are eating at home with friends. And the atmosphere with gypsy music is simply incredible. Do not miss going for lunch there if you are in Camargue. And like anywhere in Camargue, make sure to bring mosquitoes protection as this is always an issue.

Have been here twice before. A very charming tourist trap, making it easy to betray yourself. Today third visit, Saturday at 13.15. Monsieur Bob, unwilling to work, in my opinion slightly drunken, and standing at the outside grill, told us they are fully booked (70% of tables free and not set). Better avoided - food was never a reason to come

My favourite restaurant in the world. Beautiful, simple food. Amazing atmosphere. Fun, jovial, familiar, family. You won’t regret it.

50 Euros per entree. Good food. We sat at table 4. The band was too loud. Female singer sang off tone.

Lovely restaurant and terrace, popular with locals

This is a local restaurant south of Arles in the Camargue region of Provence. It is a homey place off D37 that has been here for decades. They serve foods of the Camargue, family style. The menu has an entree (appetizer), a plat (main course) and dessert for 50 Euro (about $50/person). Drinks are extra. This amount includes all service. No additional tip is required. I started with an apertif of Pastis. It is a licorice & anise flavoured drink at 45% alcohol. Their version is more licorice. My appetizer is a vegetable & meat charcuterie with sausage, pate and cornichons. We also had anchoiade, an anchovy paste in olive oil which is excellent non-fishy spread on vegetables and a rare delicacy, Poutargue which is dried Bluefin tuna roe. It has a dense texture and is protein rich. It is available in this area for 200 Euro/kilo or in Japan. My main course was Camargue beef broiled outdoors on a wood fire cooked medium rare with lentils and potatoes. The meat was tender and wonderful. I paired my meal with a bottle of Camille Cayran 2020 Le Pas Ne La Beaume Cotes du Rhone. A slightly sweet red wine made with Grenache, Syrah and local varietal Carignan for only 30 Euro. For dessert, I had a poached pear with raspberries. They have a stage for performers. One of the Gyspy Kings lives in Arles and we got a concert.

Chez Bob is incredible! Roll up to a funky looking place in the middle of nowhere and you are in the middle of a party. Your table is set with super fresh vegetables, garlic dip, charcuterie and bread that you could make a meal on--but don't, because afterwards you will get a choice of gigantic portions of bull steak, duck, lamb, pork or whatever with huge bowls of potatoes and vegetables, too. All the while there is a band playing Beatles, Stones or French rock songs. A total riot and great experience as well as lots of good food.
