Never disappoints! This place is a legend place! If someone asks tell him The bonvivant said so!! 10 years ago, i use to come to this place because they offer traditional french cusine with a lower price comparing to lets say central Paris! And it never change a bit! The quality and the meals never changed! Thank you for keeping your genorisity and love to serve people! Yes you have to put your name sometime and wait , but defiantly worth the try, for a casual date, a catch up between friend and ofcourse go veryy hungry! My favourite is their signature escalope de veoaux ! Or entrecote

We had a great experience at Chez Gladines! The setting was very cozy. The restaurant specializes in Southwest French cuisine, and we tried their specialty, the Escalope de Veau Montagnarde—it was absolutely delicious! The dish was incredibly generous, served with plenty of potatoes, a rich mushroom sauce, and a large, perfectly cooked escalope. The flavors were amazing and exceeded our expectations. The service was also excellent—super friendly and attentive. Plus, the prices were very affordable considering the quality and generous portions. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a hearty, satisfying meal in a warm and welcoming atmosphere!

6/5 stars for the service! Everyone was friendly and treated us well. The food is flavorful and authentic, and the atmosphere is perfect to accompany it. Have in mind that they have a gap between the afternoon and lunch when they might not be open!

I recently had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The staff were unfriendly and, despite numerous available tables, initially offered us a seat next to the restroom. When we declined, they seated us by a cold window in a high-traffic area for the staff. Each time a staff member passed, they complained, asking us to move ourselves or our dog’s bag. When we inquired about sitting at one of the many other empty tables, we received illogical responses, leading us to leave the restaurant. It was a terrible experience, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Fantastic restaurant in Butte aux Cailles. Basque food will never disappoint. Fair prices, quick service, what more do you need? I came several times in the past few years, and the quality of food has always been consistent. The restaurant works with a fast turn around, so don’t expect to sit down for a chat much longer after your food is finished (they’ll bring the bill as soon as you don’t say you don’t want dessert). They take no reservations, so it’s a matter of luck (or patience) finding a table.

Cute French restaurant with good wine and tasty food. If you're interested to try French cuisine and want to do it at a not-so-expensive restaurant that also has a local tavern vibe go here. :)

The food is delicious, portions are quite filling, good quality for the price. The waiters could be nicer, but overall good experience. Would recommend. I had cassoulet and it was amazing, full of different types of meat.

Excellent lunch at Chez Gladines. Potatoes are delicious and great atmosphere. The service was very good. Yannick really looked after us very well. We will be back

Really tasty food here and the staff is just hilarious. We had two very funny waiters and three delicious entrees, plus dessert. I had the salmon, and tried the lentils with sausage - perfect on a chilly night. The chocolate cake was superb. I liked the community-table seating, as it was fun to talk to those sitting near us. This place really felt like it had a local flavor and a fun atmosphere!

I love the hippie concept behind this restaurant (workers cooperative) but love the food even more. It's old school decor and menu meets hipster waiters and Butte aux Cailles laid back ambiance. We started with the pork rillettes (a standard favourite!) and went onto the pork cheeks and the blanquette de veau. Both were really tasty, especially the pork. We finished off with the creme de marrons chantilly. Were all the dishes out of this world amazing? Not necessarily but they were all tasty and hit the spot on a cool evening. The wine was reasonably priced, the atmosphere lively. It ticked all the boxes. If you are in the area, a definitely must!

Amazing food! We had a crispy mozzarella/tomato appetizer, duck breast/banana and cod fish as main courses and we loved everything!!

It's a bistro so the environment is a bit narrow inside. I had onion soup there and it was fantastic! The onion soup is with bread inside and crusted chess on top. For main course I had stewed beef with wine, it's a bit sour, but it's well stewed. A meal for starter and main course cost 28 euro.

This is a charming place but the food is just so-so. I had the pintade with fries and green beans and a clafoutis. Not terrible but by Parisian standands, lacking. As for the service, it was fine but it is true that the waiter was displeased that we did not order wine at lunch. He was gruff but I am quite used to such waiters in Paris so I did not take him too seriously. I would like to like this place but one can eat so much better elsewhere. Les Gladines, nearby, is much better as others have noted.

First, we thought the food was homey and excellent--vegetable purée, pate, sausage, turkey. Best turkey we have ever had, and we are American! However--and this is a big however--the service was awful. Both waiters were rude, but the one with the beard/moustache fulfilled the stereotype of the rude French waiter, which we had never seen in three trips to France. My husband pulled the curtain 6 inches so the sun wasn't blasting in his eyes, so we were told, "No, you may not pull the curtain. We like the sun." Also, "It may not look like it, but this job is very stressful" as he chums around with the locals and snaps at us. And then, "Perhaps you'd like to go someplace else." So surprising in what appeared to be a cozy comfortable restaurant to be met with aggression. Won't go back, even for the turkey.

I was hoping that this place would be my new neighborhood restaurant to rival Chez Gladine, but it's not even close. The service sucks. We had to ask multiple times for everything (even though the place wasn't even full) and the guy that is in charge seemed a little vacant. We had the duck and the super cassoulet. Though I am not well versed in cassoulet, I thought it was solid, but it's extremely heavy and overall not my favorite French dish(though I might have enjoyed it more if I was as tipsy as my friends who were quite impressed). The duck was decent but also not fantastic. Both dishes were about 20 euros, which I think is a little much considering the horrible service and causal vibe. I don't think I'll come back and would much rather go to chez Gladine for the 10th time.

Nice relaxed ambiance but still attentive staff. Outdoor seating available. Reasonably priced and a nice wine list. Costs: 15€~40€.
