Avoid this very mediocre restaurant for food related items… I’m sure it’s fine for drinks and the general atmosphere, but food-wise it was very disappointing. 5 of us ate there (after having reserved) on Sunday at 2 PM. It took a really long time to get a server to come over to take our order. It was also difficult to get them to bring us a glass and the silverware that was missing from our table. In the end, we just got up and got what we needed from the counter since that seemed to be faster. Once they came over, they were very pressed for our order even though it took them forever to get to us. So it was very rushed. We ordered appetizers, a pizza to share, and a main dish for each person. The appetizers came out first, and then everything else came altogether. The pizza which we had ordered to share came out cold, along with several other dishes that were also cold. The Patapouf that my daughter ordered was absolutely disgusting, and had a strange off taste. She didn’t eat it so I gave her most of my food, and then when I tried it for myself, I also decided I wouldn’t eat it… which is rare for me, since I will usually finish most of the plates at the table 😅. It was odd, because based on the ingredients list on the menu, it should have been fine. My son ordered the Bavette, which he said was tasteless and underseasoned. I ordered the daube which was very mediocre. It was also cold. The two dishes that were okay were the salads, but at the same time it’s hard to mess up a salad ! The waiters never once returned to see how we were doing after they had dropped off our food (in a rush). We did not stay for coffee either. We had been there once before a few years ago and it was fine, but we will definitely not be returning, I don’t recommend ordering anything other than salads.

We had low expectations of this place based off of the reviews but were blown away! We had lunch here and ordered the burrata, calamari, and a pizza with walnuts, figs, and goat cheese. They were amazing! The location is unbeatable and it’s classic slower French service. They have an English menu. Just don’t get the mojito it’s way too sweet. Would eat here again

Chez Jeannot is SO much more than a pizza place. Genuine French food made with flair & passion .. and some flamboyant pizzas. Enjoyed every morsel - merci!

Please don't let poor reviews from who knows where deter you from this lovely spot in the amazing Vallon des Auffes. The setting is simply charming and stunning at once. The staff is all quite welcoming - I ate alone, had no reservation, so they put me at a table inside. But this was fine, as the room was lively and fun. A few different people served me - one to explain the menu, one took a drink order, one my main dish, another told me to just pay directly at the cashier. My fish soup was about as perfect a version as I could hope for at a reasonable, not cheap price. I would return many times if I could. The panisse looked great, and were popular, and the pizza seems excellent. Lots of groups of friends, casual meals, drinks on the gorgeous terrace, etc. Yes, it is French. It is quick and slightly chaotic. All the better!

Beautiful view and nice ambiance. The floor manager is so rude, I asked for a table he told me there is no availability. My friend asked 1 minute later and suddenly there is a table ! The food is average, you can certainly find better pizza in Marseille. You honestly pay for the view and not the quality. I would recommend going for a sunset drink and enjoying the scenery rather than going for a lunch/dinner.

We ordered seafood and pizzas, the pizzas were really good, howeverthe seafood was not good at all. Staff seemed totally uninterested in us and we had to approach them ourselves if we wanted anything, even to order. We had reserved a table but when we arrived the table was not ready and we had to wait for one.

We had an amazing dinner as a family of 5. Our kids were treated so fantastic and had a great dinner. We were giving a real marseille food tasting experience from the drinks, and appetizers to the pizza. It was excellent. Thank you for making our last evening in Marseille so memorable.

Didn’t reserved a table but was allocated quickly. The food was great, had a salad and shrimps with a glass of wine. Was served promptly and the server Manolo was great and lovely. Would definitely come back!
