Just wonderful. Please visit. We came upon Chez Jo by accident and oh my goodness it was really special. The food, the staff, the atmosphere. We had the talked-about pizza which was great, but the best thing on the menu was the beef carpaccio which I paired with tomatoes Provenciale. Just divine. The manager, whose name I regretfully forget, was amazing. We have an autistic child who was well taken care of, and it’s not often we actually get to enjoy a place like that so thank you a hundred times. We wish you all the best at Chez Jo! I’m not sure what these other negative experiences were about but we were so happy and reflected it in our tip. Ps wood fired pizza is supposed to be slightly burnt 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have traveled many places and this was the rudest staff I’ve ever encountered. The woman who took our order demanded we each had to order a pizza even though we ordered sides and drinks. Fine we ordered an extra pizza. When we went to pay they told us no credit cards while we watched them take credit cards from others. Food was just okay. Not worth it at all. Clearly they hate tourists which is odd considering they are on a Main Street full of tourism. When we left the woman took a credit card in front of us and smirked. Never had such a rude experience. DO NOT DINE HERE.

Fantastic wood fired pizza! Cheese, ham, and mushrooms were fresh and tasty. The chili pepper oil was a great condiment to the pizza. Being American we generously poured it on while the nearby French patrons looked on with surprise and giggles of laughter.

I would stay away from this restaurant. After waiting 30 minutes for a server, a female server approached us to take our order and was extremely rude, raising her voice demanding we order 2 meals because it was a “restaurant”. The pizzas appeared large enough for 2 and we wanted wine and desserts but apparently she would not serve us unless 2 meals were ordered. After yelling at us, she walked away. We then left. I have never been treated this poorly at any Restauant in my life. I do not recommend.

If you're in Aix-en-Provence, don't miss out on Chez Jo. It's a must-visit for some seriously delicious food and a great atmosphere. Their wood-oven pizza is the best in town. They've also got all these delicious homemade dishes: pasta, grilled meat, traditional dishes.. Everything tastes amazing. Make sure to leave some room for dessert, they have an amazing chocolate mousse, and homemade fruit tarts! The service is really friendly and welcoming. The staff is always smiling and ready to make sure you have a great time. They're celebrating their 50th anniversary this year! It just how much people love this place.

They told us after the meal, that only cash is possible and the machine for credit card is not working. I don't believe it, I have seen in other comments that the same happened many times before. This is a restaurant in the center with many shops around, doesn't make sense. After a few minutes waiting and insisting and there was nobody in the restaurant anymore- it worked. So if this ever happened to you insist on it. The pizza we ate was tasteful, a bit burned and price high though. In general a friendly place, but this credit card situation is a big no go.

Google
Fun spot in a very touristy area, so don’t expect culinary masterpieces, but their pizzas are good, straight from the blisteringly hot furnace, and their crudité platter is magnificent, with beautiful fresh vegetables from the Provence. Worth a stop if you’re looking for a simple but hearty meal.

It was around 9pm after we had already had dinner and was looking for a place to sit and have dessert and some drinks. We saw that this place had the usual creme brûlée and tiramisu so decided to give it a try. The owner must be famous because he has a lot of pictures of him and supposedly other famous people on the walls. After being seated for 20 minutes, we finally tried to get the attention of a waiter and eventually an older lady approached us to take our order. When we said we wanted dessert she said it was not possible to order dessert without ordering a meal first. I’m pretty sure that was the first time I was asked to leave a restaurant for such a situation in my life. Unbelievable. Maybe she didn’t like that we were tourists?

Yelp
It's good. I'd say 3.5 very solid stars. I am not giving 4 stars because some of the appetizers are severely overpriced, and the waitress gave me a little bit of attitude I didn't like (I won't go into details here because it was in French and it's not easy to explain or translate what was said and the tone that was used.). Back to the food, the starter (red peppers in garlic and oil) was great but definitely not worth 16 euros (more 8 euros). Tasty. Shareable. More salad than peppers though...(the menu doesn't state it's actually a salad). Pizza: pricing is good for homemade dough cooked in a wood fired oven however the crust wasn't that great. Mediocre at best. The rest was fine. A big plus for the chili oil. Delicious on your pizza. The place is lovely. stones, wood over, nice setting, tablecloth...and a large outdoor patio. Would I got back? yes. I would love to try more and update my review then.

Yelp
Was in Aix on business - on Valentines Day! A friend told me that the French don't really celebrate Valentine's Day, but apparently they do at Chez Jo. Everyone was out on date night in this cute little checkered tablecloth pizzeria. Enjoyed a nice salad, a very good pizza, and a 2/3 (.5L) bottle of wine while watching the locals come and go. Great energy. Attentive staff. And a varied menu. Wanting for pizza in Aix-en-Provence? Chez Jo is your place!

Yelp
Great pizza, amazing fries. Really good service and the seating is right on the plaza. The spaghetti was good (say 4 stars). Nice setup on a walking street and the staff id fluent in English.

Yelp
We had 3 pasta dishes-ravioli with cream, carbonara and bolognese....um, I would just get pizza next time. There.
