Really great value, very good food and a vibrant atmosphere. The service was a bit erratic and slow but then the place was packed so it’s to be expected to some extent. Steak-frites was class, as was the French onion soup.

I went to this restaurant with high expectations which were definitely met. The food was in my opinion some of the best I’ve ever had, the price was really good considering that I got their lunch deal, the servers were super friendly and quick. The atmosphere was really cosy and I left the place with my expectations exceeded. Would definitely recommend!!

My local friend here has recommended “Chez Jules” for sometimes, and we finally got to this on a weekday lunchtime, it is completely well as said. We have gone through a X’mas lunch menu, which was done with a great delicious!
The good price and speedy services of this little French restaurant won’t affect their overall quality. Just want to say, “don’t stay too long there” and let the others behind to enjoy too!

Our waiter was great, helped us pick a great wine to compliment our meal. The additional sides which accompany the main meal are a lovely touch. I had the macaroni as a main- it was the best macaroni I’ve ever had. The lighting is also very aesthetically pleasing if that’s your thing!

Came for their popular 3 course lunch set. The food was alright (steak was burnt a bit) but for that unbeatable price in Edinburgh it was a good value! Service was fast. Overall a good experience! 👌

You really can’t beat the price! Three course meal and an alcoholic beverage just under £20. The food was delicious and the bread and salad was a nice touch too. Might be hard to get into when it’s busy but considering how full it was food came at a very reasonable pace (quicker than I expected ) 10/10 recommend

Food was alright, we ordered bread, mussels and steak tartar. Mussels were very good value for money, the tartar was okay but could have been fresher. Have tasted better and more fresh steak tartar. The bread also tasted like it was store bought, could’ve mistaken it for Sainsbury’s bakery bread. The atmosphere is pretty loud and tables are close together. However, will say that overall it is good value for the quantity you are given and it is a good spot for a date night.

The stand out, endorphin releasing, Apple wallet sigh of relief-ing, aspect of this restaurant is the amazing lunch 3 course deal they have. With plenty of food being served, consumed with a bottle of red, the evening couldn’t go wrong. Jolly and scrumptious. Alas, If you look closely and cajole your tastebuds into Michelin mode, the greasy French onion soup, non-chocolately chocolate mousse, and stale bread can be a bit of a let down. Nevertheless, the service was good and the atmosphere gives the right impression of a classic French style restaurant that starts with ‘chez’. Definitely recommend for a lunch of laughter, and cheap food. Located in a good area too.
