Outstanding quality, flavor, and value. It’s a unique menu for the area. Super fresh! So good we came back two nights later for more.

We had lunch here with 3 young teenagers, they all said it was one of the most delicious meals that they had eaten and it absolutely was, pudding was great too. The waitress was also fantastic. We booked ahead after looking at reviews. Definitely a favourite of our holiday.

Great place! If you like charcuterie and cheese, this is the place! Informal and homely. Friendly staff. Good service! Go with an appetite! My favourite was the little parmentier de canard. Delicious!

Forget about classy , complicated french cuisine. Here you'll get mainly cheeze and charcuterie,at its best. The food is served in big portions ,and rates are fare, which makes this restaurant a real value for money. The restaurant is located in a quiet side street in the heart of wonderful Sarlat. It was refreshing to eat their cheeze and charcuterie , after few nights of foie gras, and all sort of canard/oie dishes.

We had a fantastic meal in this quaint restaurant in Sarlat-la-Canéda. Seemed to be a real “locals” place. Service was excellent and led to a relaxing, enjoyable meal. Raclette was so delicious. In a town full of great, out-of-the-way bistros and restaurants, Chez Le Gaullist stands out. Recommended.

In the town but slightly towards the edge of town. This is a lovely little restaurant, the menu is fairly small and basically a deli, the meals are mainly a selection of meat, potato and cheese. The price is reasonable, the service is brisk and everyone is freindly and cheerful, so a fantastic place to eat and relax. You are packed in so it is a little crowded but this adds to the atmosphere. Well worth a visit. Even just to watch the meat being cut up....

It is a cheese place. Almost all meals consist of à bowl of melted cheese accompanied with ham and boiled potatoes. The principal difference is the kind of cheese. If you are fond of cheese you would probably like it. If not you might be disappointed.

Yelp
This place is seriously amazing. The portions are huge and everything tastes just delicious. The ham is beautifully cut, of high quality and melts in your mouth. The cheese...don't get me started. And those potatoes are just perfectly cooked. I wish we lived closer to France, just so I could go back to this restaurant regularly. The place is packed with locals, which is always a good sign. And definitely have some wine with your meal - you're in France, after all.

Yelp
**IDEAL PLACE FOR HAM LOVERS** Walked around and discovered this place. AMBIANCE ========= Rustic French, nice friendly atmosphere. Terrace for outdoor eating and people watching. Indoor seating for small groups. FOOD ===== CHARCUTERIE MEATS WITH HOT POTATOES AND CHEESE (14 Euros) Simple, but excellent in portion, quality, and taste. The 18 month cured hams were incredible and the hot potatoes and cheese were out of this world. RATING: 5/5 BEVERAGE ========= 1/2 BOTTLE OF BEYNAC ROUGE (8 Euros) Nice bold taste, a solid pairing with the meats. RATING: 5/5 SERVICE ======= Accommodating and friendly. They can speak English, but I spoke to them in French. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for casual lunch and dinner. Recommendations recommended for groups larger than 2.

Yelp
Simple, honest food well presented in a casual atmosphere. Charcuterie and raclette are the mainstays of the menu with several salad options. Not a kitchy tourist trap. No foie gras or canard on the menu. Well priced plats principaux below 15 euros.. including salad. Potatoes 1 euro more. Good service as well. Family friendly. Right by the tourist information bureau. Don't miss it!

Yelp
Wonderful ambiance, service, and food. Unique concept for Jambon (ham) lovers; Thinly sliced 18-month cured hams either with salads or with hot potatoes and cheese(s) fondue. Staff is very accommodating and multi-lingual, with menus in French, English, and Dutch.
