"My favorite place on earth might just be the Marche de Clignancourt, that vast flea market expanse in northern Paris. And my favorite marche of all the marches strung along the Rue de Roisiers might just be Vernaison. Wander the twisted alleyways and you will inevitably end up at Chez Louisette, which looks at first blush like a cheesy Hollywood director’s idea of a Paris café. There is an Edith Piaf wannabe warbling, the staff is sassy, and they have been seducing tourists for almost a century. A few years ago, Ladyfag and her wife Skin convinced me that I should put aside my misgivings, take a break from flea-ing, and join them here. They were right. I never had a better time."

A very quirky restaurant that offer decent food, but the real draw here is the staff and the atmosphere. All staff members seem to have been here since the sixties, so don't expect any English speaking servers. However, they are extremely friendly and open. Be prepared to be serenaded by awesome entertainers that will come around for tips after they have finished. Prices are very reasonable for food and drink. Before or after visiting this place check out the antique market. This place is only open Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

I stumbled into this place while shopping in the flea/antique market. I peered into the glass door and saw that it was crowded - a good sign for a restaurant! I went inside and found a seat and sat down. It was like stepping back in time. A gentleman was singing old French songs, the place was packed with decorations on the walls and ceilings. I tried the escargot and salad and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I would definitely go back the next time I am in Paris!

Live music (individuals sing then walk around and ask for tips). Traditional French food. Family friendly, but no kid seats.

Funny place. The food was ok and it’s a pretty touristic place, but we loved it! Run by relatives, you can feel that you are in another time! You can be trapped there for hours with the music and the environment. Worth to try!

The last remaining guingette in Paris, this location offers a glimpse into a bygone time. With live music and brilliant lighting; and good food to match, it's a must visit.

Yelp
Money flies away。 In this charming little place。 Don't be fooled ok?。 Dropped into Chez Louisette while shopping at Marché Vernaison. Entered because of the live performance that was happening. Food was tasty, but we felt like we had to dine in a rush because each performer sang for about 10 minutes, and after every performer they would make rounds in the restaurant to collect tips. We usually like to tip performers but we only had large bills with us and a couple of coins - so we tipped the first performer with a 2 Euro coin, and she said she doesn't accept change and wanted bills, so we tipped a large bill thinking that was for all the performers BUT the next performer came to collect tips again and we had to tip another large bill. So while the third performer went on stage to sing we quickly finished our meals and downed the wine as fast as we could to get the hell out of there!

Yelp
Totally stumbled up on this hidden gem. Folks here seem a bit scattered with their service but boy they make it up with flavor & quality. If you happen to go to the flea market save some time for Louisette!!!! Btw there is live music!

Yelp
Great atmosphere to a by gone time the food is ok if you stick to French Classics but they are there to COLLECT YOUR MONEY You must tip each singer no coins so E5.00 Service is haphazard They wear you down by ignoring you for the first 15 minutes you are there so they build in you a desire for acceptence which helps to keep you quiet when you realize you have been ripped off but you don't want to make a scene. The majority of people who go in are tourists they will never see again. Believe me their teeth come out when you are hip to their game. But two can play as it is a fun place to go with friends I went alone. SO do as I intend to do if i go again Bring small Bills Add up your bill BEFORE they bring you the check so they do Not RIP YOU OFF. Know WHAT you are paying for. ENJOY!

Yelp
This quaint little place in the middle of a compact, famous Parisian market is a great experience after a good day of shopping for unusual items. When they have live music it is a must sit down and enjoy the Parisian atmosphere.

Yelp
This is such a fun restaurant! It's as if you time traveled back 1960, Paris. It's tacky Christmas interior completes it. Moules Frites are good so is other bistro fare. It's a place to sit & have a few drinks & just have fun. Everyone is happy & the joy runs through it's vibe. The singers pass the hat for tips after their sets.

Yelp
This was by far the worst lunch we have had in Paris. When we were seated we were forced to tip the singer ( who was bad ) The food was bad and and the woman severing us was so aggressive.. When leaving by the time I stood up she had already seated someone else which made it difficult to get out. When leaving she insisted that I tip. The bright side is "Never gong back"

Yelp
Definitely worth a visit if you are at the market. Has a unique fun energy, BUT BEWARE!! if you don't speak French the waitresses will short change you so give exact payment or call them out when they don't return the correct change.

Yelp
They took advantage of us knowing we didn't speak French and kept our change, which we wanted to use to tip the singer. We weren't planning on tipping the waitress since the service wasn't great.
