Amazing and super friendly service, the staff lady which I believe is the manager/owner of some sorts. Super welcoming, make us felt like home. Friendly conversations, help us with orders and explain to us how it works etc. Super attentive Food is amazing, especially at that price. Their dessert is to die for, just order one each. So be prepare to roll out from the restaurant like we did.

Google
We had lunch at the outside seating area, and you get a good view of Place du Bourg De Four. It is a casual dining so don’t expect a fancy restaurant. Service was good and prompt. They seemed a bit short handed for the lunch on Saturday but the staff was still attentive and friendly. Good was served fairly quickly, about 10 minutes after we ordered. The chicken was good and succulent. The prices are reasonable. If I have to complain, it has to be the fact that you have to pay CHF 3 for the sauces which you can see in the menu. Overall a great place for a reasonably priced meal.

Google
Delicious food, generous portions, and very very friendly service! This place has an authentic feel and offers great value for money. The famous roast chicken really lives up to the hype, simple, tasty, and satisfying. A lovely spot if you’re looking for something casual, local, and full of flavor.

Google
Chez Ma Cousine in Geneva’s Old Town is a cozy, no-frills spot that delivers comfort food at its best. Their specialty is a half rotisserie chicken served with crispy wedges and a fresh salad, all for just CHF 14.90—a rare find in Geneva. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who make you feel right at home. It’s a perfect place for a satisfying, budget-friendly meal in the heart of the city.

Google
This used to be one of my favourite places...not anymore!! I ordered today a half chicken and instead I got 1/4 of a chicken, for same price. A friend of mine also visited the restaurant and had the same experience. Ordered half chicken and got instead 1/4 of it and more expensive...HORRIBLE!!! never again!

Google
We were staying in a hotel across the road and landed quite late so this place was exactly what we needed when hungry and not sure where to eat in a new city etc. When we arrived our waiter was very welcoming and friendly and explained the menu to us in English (we apologise for not being able to speak French! 🙈) Food was promptly served… a simple concept - rotisserie chicken and chips with classic sauce, but it was so tasty and satisfying. Salad was delicious and fresh and the dessert topped everything off (we shared the chocolate fondant). Nothing to dislike, thank you ☺️

Google
This was a nice little place with great rotisserie chicken. The side salad and potatoes were very good and I recommend them - you can order a sauce to go with the chicken, and I found it unnecessary until I got to the slightly more dry white meat of the chicken. To end, I for the merengue with cream, which was also very good.

Google
If you want the best roast chicken, roasted potato wedges, and a simple salad that you've ever had, this is the place. The flavor of the chicken is so amazing that the optional sauces seem superfluous, but the spicy sauce was delicious and complimented the flavor of the chicken. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We came for lunch and there were lot of tables available. We got 1/2 a chicken (17,90) and chicken nuggets (16,40). The chicken comes with salad and fries. The chicken nuggets come with fries and a sauce. The chicken was kind of dry. The fries were thick and kind of addicting. The chicken nuggets were nicely fried. I really enjoyed the salad. It helped balance out the chicken. I wouldn't recommend this place for lunch. It was affordable compared to other places in Geneva but I wouldn't recommend the chicken.

Yelp
Near the University, this gem of a restaurant is hidden down a side street. The most ordered dish and I highly recommend it, is the roasted half chicken meal. It comes with a large salad and some baked potato wedges. I like the well seasoned chicken au naturel but many of my friends order the extra chicken au jous and dip it in that delectable juice. Its a full meal for under chf20 and after lunch, you can go shopping at Manor just down the street. Friendly and efficient staff - my only suggestion would be to offer more comfortable seats but then you would probably never get a seat!!!

Yelp
One of 4 locations at Vielle-Ville we found cozy fast and delicious. No need to salt it up like we do in USA flavor stands out. The 1/2 chicken for 20 CHF is a bargain. One of us tried the curry which was sweet with a mild after kick. The waitstaff is adorable the ambiance is cozy.

Yelp
Fun and cute bistro. The chicken dishes were excellent. However I was disappointed in their chicken noodle soup. Overall the food was good and service was typical.

Yelp
We went in to this restaurant based on reviews. As soon as we sat down the waitress was horrible and rude. It was so bad we decided to leave, management needs to work with her and teach her how to provide service. Avoid this restaurant, unless you want someone to yell at you.

Yelp
TL;DR you didnt go to geneve if you didnt go to chez ma cousine 1/2 roast chicken and potato. $15 in Switzerland. underline, bold, and italicize the $15.

Yelp
I normally don't finish a plate of food but omg this hit the spot!! Ate every last bite and had their petite cousin dessert with hot chocolate. So so so good! Definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
Delicious food in Genevieve!!! Very close to our hotel. We were therefor awhile and tried several places. We ended up going back a few time. Service was great and there was a lengthy menu. The cat was kind of weird but it looked like a lot of people enjoyed it. Would recommend

Yelp
Like Henry Ford said, you can have any color you like, as long as it's black. This place does rotisserie chicken. Price has gone up to Euro 17.90 but chicken and fries are still great. There may be a little wait but it's worth it. The place looks small but has more space in the back. Since chickens are constantly grilled there is a reasonably fast turnover. Food comes to the table in 5 minutes. Table next to us asked if they had anything else but chicken. Answer. NO.

Yelp
Nice busy chicken restaurant. Friendly service in a relaxed casual atmosphere. Roast chicken and chips, simple and can't fault it.

Yelp
I came here for dinner after arriving to my Airbnb. It's conveniently close by and according to TripAdvisor, it's good and cheap! There's a nice outdoor seating but would require a wait. So we were seated immediately indoors! I'm so glad they have an English menu! The boyfriend and I weren't sure how much food to get because we don't eat very much, and so far we have been given weird looks when we order just one meal. So we asked the waiter and he suggested we get their popular dish and the children's menu dish, which are: 1/2 Grilled Chicken w/Provençal Style Potatoes and Green Salad (15,90 CHF) + My Cousine Sauce (2,80) I don't usually care for chicken or ever order it but since this place is known for it, sure. And it was quite good! Most of it was dark meat and there fore not dry. The flavors are good. As for the potatoes, they are little potato wedges that are freshly made--crispy and warm. The salad--meh. Didn't care for it. Not sure why, but I didn't enjoy them. As for the sauce, it was pretty salty. It's for those who just love sauces and their food extra salty! CHILDREN MENU - 10,50 CHF 1/4 Grilled Chicken w/Provençal Style Potatoes. I recommend adults to get this if you are the anti-salad kind of person. I should have just stuck to this, haha. The 1/4 chicken piece was still a decent size! FLAT WATER - 1 CHP Ah yes they charge for water but 1CHP isn't bad compared to most places that can charge up to around 5CHP. This is a very fast paced restaurant with very efficient and friendly waiters. I had a good time here and we ended up with Abby of leftovers to bring back to our Airbnb. :)

Yelp
Got recommended from lonely planet, apparently the editors have very different taste buds compared to mine. Food is only three stars. Service 4 stars and price 5 stars for Geneva. This is probably one of the cheapest restaurant meals you can get in Geneva. It is definitely not the healthiest option: salads with too much sauce, fried potato wedges, all the unnecessary protein from the chicken. I am not a potato fan so I will pass reviewing the potato wedges, they are not bad, and portions are huge. The chicken looks delicious, but was overly salted on the skin and is too bland inside. It was also too dry for me. Service is quick and attentive. The juice I got was very delicious. Would recommend to people who like dry meat and fried potato.

Yelp
We had the half chicken, frites, and salad 14 CHF special which is a great deal, especially in Switzerland. We added two servings of sauce, but one serving would have been plenty for two people. The chocolate fondant dessert was very nice. The outdoor seating area was pleasant until the very aggressive little birds kept trying to land on our table and get some food.

Yelp
Superb roasted chicken enjoyed in an intimate setting across from the palais du Justice. Attentive and friendly service from the initial greeting until the bill. Arriving in the heat of the lunch hour rush or with more than two people, one should be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes. Once seated, good food comes quickly so you can be fine in an hour if your have time constraints. A small but thoughtful wine and beer list too.

Yelp
My wife ordered the 1/2 chicken and I ordered the Thai chicken salad. The freshness of the salad was great. Very warm day and I was looking for something different. Thai chicken salad with tomatoes, Thai spicy sauce, a variety of lettuces & noodles. Crisp and crunchy and lots of chicken. Ask for more of the spicy sauce. Having tried a bit of wife's 1/2 chicken, I can say she got the better dish. If you order the 1/2 chicken you can not go wrong. Excellent flavor and plenty of food.

Yelp
What!?! a Full meal for under $20 a person in Geneva!?! Impossible! Ohhh, mais bien sur, it can happen! Ok, so it's not an authentic Swiss food or anything, but the name speaks for itself, it means at my cousin's house, so you'll expect simple, yet filling food. We got a salad, half of chicken per person, beer, and fries for 14 Swiss francs, it's a deal. We had people walk by and say "chicken and french fries?!?!" but it's actually really good. The chicken is really well cooked and the fries were crispy and soft on the inside, delicious. I really enjoyed the salad too. For dessert, my husband got the mini cafe with chocolate muffin and creme brulee. My daughter got the strawberry ice cream, which was probably the best she'll ever eat, because it was just delicious, even I couldn't stop. It lost a star because the service isn't great, the waiter there didn't seem interested in serving us and we waited awhile for a table, which we knew would happen. But there were people there just smoking, not even eating anymore, occupying tables. I know it's Europe and people take their time before leaving a restaurant, but this place was in a rush to get rid of us but had no problem keeping the other people who ordered NOTHING around. Fine with me, I got my meal so I don't care about anything else.

Yelp
Friends of ours moved to Switzerland from the US a year and a half ago. We went to visit them a few weeks ago and this restaurant was certainly on their list of favorites. When we arrived, I was surprised by the size of the restaurant. It looks so small from the outside, but is larger than anticipated on the inside. We got a cozy table in the back of the restaurant. Our friends had suggested getting the special, which included a half chicken, fries, and salad. My husband and I agreed, so we ordered it with gravy. The food came out really fast, which was great! The salad was served family style and was tasty. The chicken was cooked well for the most part - a few areas of the chicken were dry. But, the gravy made everything taste wonderful. The serving of fries is very large, but we still managed to eat them all. They have a great crunch and a nice balance of saltiness. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate cake. According to our friends, the cake is normally served with a scoop of ice cream. But, ours didn't have any ice cream with it :( The cake was good, but a little dry for my liking. Overall, this is a good bang for the buck. The special for 14 CHF is a steal! I would recommend this restaurant for a meal that makes you feel right at home.

Yelp
Boom! This place is great. They have a small menu, but you go here for the 1/2 roasted chicken. They do a great job of preparing a flavorful bird. It's accompanied by a small salad and fries. The chicken is so tender that you can eat it with a knife and fork, including the leg. It's a bit annoying to have to pay CHF2.80 for one of their sauces, but the gravy is worth it - perfect for dipping your fries. It's set in a fun neighborhood with lots of other restaurants around. Solid nightlife, but not in the clubby way. Well with a trip for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Traveled all day into Geneva and wanted something quick, easy, and French. I found exactly that at this unassuming yet super cute joint. I got the rotisserie lamb and you can't go wrong at all with that! Great people also work there and I absolutely enjoyed meal. Merci!

Yelp
The place is very homey and the chicken is amazingly delicious!! The price is super reasonable :)

Yelp
Came by for lunch on Sunday and there was not wait. My friend and I both ordered the half chicken which was an excellent dish. The chicken gravy is a must have since it adds so much flavor. Dip the chicken and fries in gravy for maximum tastiness. Also ordered a shandy which is a mix of lemonade and beer. It was very refreshing and paired well with the meal. Service was fast and efficient. Dish doesn't cost too much either which is a huge plus.

Yelp
Great little Provençal chicken place tucked away in Vieux Genève. Nice stop for a quick lunch!
google avatar

Yelp
Roast chicken and potatoes! Such a great spot for a informal lunch or dinner. Affordable and delicious. I recommend going with the mustard sauce, it goes great on everything in my opinion. Walk in, order a roast chicken with some fries and a beer. What can be better?
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
I think you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer meal for the same price in Geneva. The chicken is always delicious.... make sure you order extra gravy to dip your fries in! YUMMY!
google avatar

Jill S.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with friends and sat outside (it was really hot inside and it looked pretty cramped). The menu is pretty limited but you basically order the 1/2 roast chicken and it comes with salad and potatoes. I didn't like the dressing on the salad but the chicken and the potatoes were really good. And like other reviewers have said, this is a fantastic value in Switzerland at 15 CHF per person. Service was great, drinks were great, food was great. Solid place.
google avatar

Kimberly Y.

Yelp
I would give Chez ma Cousine 4 stars purely for the affordability, especially in a great location next to restaurants that offer entrees for twice the price! But all five stars since the food was much better than I was expecting for 15 CHF! Yes, the kitchen is small and the menu is limited, but it appears everyone gets the half-chicken anyway. And wow, that chicken was the perfect tenderness for me! super juicy albeit a little burnt in a couple places. The chicken is small of course, but I was stuffed by the end of the meal. The potatoes are really bland until you notice the free(!) ketchup and mayo packets on each table, and the salad is basically just lettuce. My mom actually opted for a noodle soup, and it was almost as good as the chicken! Service was all right relative to other Swiss restaurants I've been to. They have a couple outdoor tables, which you should snag if you're lucky enough to get there when there are open tables at all!

Yelp
My friends and I quickly stopped by Chez ma Cousine after visiting St. Pierre's Cathedral because it was listed as Swiss food on Yelp, but I'm not sure if you could call it that. I ordered the Thai style chicken salad, and my friends ordered the Indian style chicken salad and the 1/2 grilled chicken with gravy (where you pay extra). The portions were fairly big and they were definitely not stingy on the amount of chicken to salad ratio. The chicken in my salad was a bit bland with not much taste and the spicy tomato sauce was not enough to last me through the whole salad, so I would occasionally dip it in my friend's gravy for more flavor. What I really enjoyed about my salad was the cold noodles which I thought was refreshing and unique. The service was great and the price is definitely on the cheap end for Geneva.

Yelp
Perfect stop!! We were very hungry and looking for a place for quick late lunch, stumbled on this next to the beautiful Place de Bourg-de-Four in the historic Old Town, and it was perfect. All they serve is chicken and we all ordered their super reasonably priced plate of half roasted chicken, roasted Provençal potatoes and salad for 16.90CHF. It was fast, plenty of food, and delicious. Roasted chicken was tasty as is, or you can order some sauces, and only complaint was salad was overdressed. Really nice waitress and good service. Great small place for a very simple, fast, reasonably priced meal -- nice to find when you don't always want an involved or more expensive meal. Great location too.

Catherine B.

Yelp
Great location in old town. Outdoor dining. Basic rotisserie with potatoes and salad. Friendly owner

Abhay D.

Yelp
Was in Geneva for a couple of days, and a friend recommended this place. It is a charming little place, in the heart of historic Geneva. Very unassuming in its looks. Cozy and very friendly, and welcoming. Looks small, about 12 tables from the window, but then there is a narrow lane leading you to another room behind the kitchen where there are another set of 10-12 tables. Seems as if you are sitting in a cave. I ordered their half chicken with a special sauce. It came with a salad and home made potato chips (fries). All absolutely excellent. The extra sauce that I ordered (for CFH 2.80) was really not needed, but nevertheless was excellent. A very filling meal in the heart of Geneva for less than CHF 20. Never would have imagined... Did I mention excellent beer we had and a very friendly waiting staff? If you are in Geneva, go there!
google avatar

Emery W.

Yelp
The sauce was way too salty that it was inedible, they charged me for tap water in the menu, and there was more dressing than lettuce in the salad. Absolutely disgusting and a let down based on the reviews. Chicken was delicious and moist but also very salty The waiter assumed I didn't speak French when I asked about the charge for tap water and talked about me to the other waiters in French! Terrible service! Not impressed
google avatar

Sergey L.

Yelp
If you are craving roasted chicken, this place in Geneva is a must. Fall of the bone chicken, great beer. I would suggest ordering a bowl of chicken soup for starters which packs a lot of flavor and their house made mustard sauce is a great accompany to their chicken
google avatar

Carmen C.

Yelp
I came across this restaurant while I was scrolling through Foursquare for food suggestions. Got the half chicken meal and it was pretty good! The fries were a bit too salty for my tastes, but the service was friendly and the chicken delicious. Would definitely come here again!
google avatar

Ashish S.

Yelp
Good lunch but whatever you do, do not sit outside thinking you will enjoy a pleasant lunch. Our table and the one next to us kept getting attacked by flies and wasps wanting to land in our food. We spent the better part of our meal trying to flit these away with napkins while also trying to scarf down food quickly so we don't have to deal with these insects. Oddly enough it was just at the tables of this restaurant and not the adjacent ones which also do have outdoor seating. Kinda ruins your eating experience when you have to focus on keeping your food safe from flies and wasps rather than focus on your meal.

Yelp
Went here the first night in Geneva. Traveling with hubs and 3kids. Also had 5 other guests with us--- total of 10. Staff quickly accommodated our large group. Very friendly. Food excellent. Kid approved. Even picky eaters. sauce is worth the extra cost. Highly recommend. Good price.

Yelp
Simple cuisine, d'un atmosphère and very good food. Main entree is an half-chicken with salad and fries, they also have a few very good salads.
google avatar

Giancarlo F.

Yelp
First meal in Geneva and it didn't disappoint! Half chicken with garlic fries and salad about 25 Swiss francs.
google avatar

Linda C.

Yelp
15.90 CHF for half a chicken, lots of fried potato wedges and a big salad. Chicken was a bit dry, well salted, delicious. Potatoes were really good, salad was fresh but dressing wasn't great. I also had a 1 dl glass of a nice Reisling for 5.50. Hubby's Thai chicken salad wasn't worth praising. Salad with chunks of chicken, rice noodles, dressing with heat but no Thai flavor. Buy the half chicken, which is a great value, but don't bother with the Thai salad. Total price 41 CHF, including a half liter of mineral water. Fantastic value in very Expensive Switzerland.
google avatar

Ra P.

Yelp
The "Thai" salad has nothing thai about it. And honestly is barely eatable. If you go, get the chicken. Very disappointing.
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Really nice, casual place for lunch. About $16 gets you a half chicken, fries and simple green salad. We also shared a pichet of red wine that was tasty and decently priced as well. The service was friendly and fast. We went around 1:30 on a Sunday and it was pretty packed. Wait was about 20 minutes, and you have to wait outside because there's not space to wait inside.
google avatar

Mario P.

Yelp
Quite a charming restaurant with very good prices for Geneva. The extra sauces that they sell for the chicken are something you can't miss. Overall a good restaurant that doesn't offer many options but that you can thoroughly enjoy.
google avatar

Jennifer O.

Yelp
This is my favorite local restaurant in old town Geneva. They serve the best roasted chicken and roasted potatoes. Try both sauces, they are delicious! I love that they serve family style. The desserts are incredible too! My favorite is the creme brûlée. Prices are reasonable, staff is wonderful, they make you feel like you are visiting their own kitchen.
google avatar

Yelp
Ok Yelpers, lets do the maths: A big mac medium menu (burger, fries and drink) is 14.50CHF from the Rive Mcdonald's; Half a chicken, fries, salad & bread... plus a drink is only 15.00CHF from Chez ma Cousine. Thats with out going into how the quality is a million times better, the service is much nicer and it's an actual sit down restaurant! Yes, I might not be able to hide how much I love this place. Many a day working in the old town has led to me getting a take away from here and taking it back to work to eat. Always a personal favourite and somewhere I will forever love. Hell, I even took Carolyn S. here on our first date... must of done something right ;)
google avatar

Vi N.

Yelp
It's cheap. I guess that's why everyone comes here. It is very popular. The food is decent. Nothing special. Based on the reviews, husband and I both ordered the 1/2 chicken and salad. The chicken skin was too salty for me to eat. The chicken was dry but edible.
google avatar

Wm J.

Yelp
This place is great and I had a wonderful time. Spit roasted half chicken with a salad, table bread, order of potato wedges, ketchup, and a handy lemon wipe for your fingers was only 15.40 SF. The waitress recommends the chicken sauce made from the drippings but I chose not to indulge. I did have a .4 Kronenberg for 6.20SF. This was a good choice and I ate very well. The place is warm and cozy with all nations chatting and laughing loudly with delight. The restrooms are tiny but there is hot water, soap, and paper towels to wash off the chicken or whats left of it after you licked off all the flavor! For the price, the ambiance, quantity of food, and good service this place gets 5 stars from me.
google avatar

Sam H.

Yelp
Definetely not for Gourmets, but a good location for a cheap and quick luncheon. The principal offering is chicken with fries. Staff are friendly and service is quick.
google avatar

Peggy M.

Yelp
An unassuming little chicken restaurant. A delicious meal of chicken, salad, and fried potatoes for only 15 Swiss francs. The soup is wonderful. I am fighting a summer cold and I think the soup cured me! A must visit place to make your trip to Geneva complete!
google avatar

Ashley D.

Yelp
I don't know how anyone could give this place less than 4 stars! It is open late even on Monday, quaint location in Olde Towne, friendly service, huge portions, and cheap! The chicken is delicious and I'm still amazed at the price if 14 CHF which includes salad, fries and chicken. It does attract families due to prices so you may want to request a table in a different area, away from small children. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is the atmosphere as the focus is clearly on food versus aesthetics but hey that's okay! If you're visiting in the Summer or a warm Spring day, sit outside and enjoy people watching and the sounds and sights of Old Town.
google avatar

Yelp
Oh - how I love this place! Everytime I stop in Geneva for business, I am always happy to eat there. It's simple yet good food. Their trademark is the 1/2 chicken served with potatoes and salad for 14,60 CHF (add 2,40 CHF for the chicken sauce). The service is always courteous and you are served very fast. The selection is small but there is something for everyone. Given how life is expensive in Switzerland, you really have a good bargain for your meal there. Another good thing is that they are open late and accept credit cards. The space is not super big and it is usually very busy. Expect some noise and to be seated very close to other dinners.
