A quite small, but nevertheless very charming bistro. Food quality was first class, all ingredients were fresh and tasty. The owner is very nice and warm-hearted, prices are also okay in relation to quantity and quality. Location is in the immediate vicinity of the Bayeux cathedral which also offers a nice outlook. Full recommendation!

Chez Paulette is absolutely delightful! Such a cozy and charming space, with a fabulous selection of teas and other beverages. My English Breakfast was served in the cutest elephant teapot - day made. And the service is great, too :)

Good, homemade food in a super nice vintage atmosphere! Also, this seems to be one of the only places in Bayeux that serves lunch after 2pm - which was very much appreciated! Some people in the reviews here argue that this place is overpriced, but well, these are the prices in this town. And what you get at here at Chez Paulette is absolutely fair: a genuine little restaurant with good food (main dishes even come with a little side salad!), friendly staff, and a unique 70s vibe! Loved it!

Most lovely vintage place to be. We were pleasantly surprised that our dog was allowed inside. On a leash, obviously.

It took over 20 minutes to get seated even though there was empty tables around. The waiters are truly friendly and nice but extremely inefficient. We saw the staff go out for smoking breaks various times while waiting. We ordered a starter and a main each and waited almost half an hour between the two. The table next to us had everyone finish their dishes before they brought food for the last person. So, so slow.
And the food is definitely not anything slow-cooked or time consuming. Almost everything was made of numerous pre-made ingredients and not great quality. Some of it was ridiculous - for example, they put barbecue sauce on a salmon and guacamole toast. The filling of the quiche was tasty but the bottom was a soggy puff pastry.
We later waited almost another half an hour for one dessert which we decided to pass on as it was getting really late. While waiting for the dessert (already ready to desist and just pay and leave) we saw the staff being outside and smoking. It just felt that they didn’t really care that the guests were waiting for so long, even though in conversation they seemed very friendly.
Just no worth it.

This was a fabulous place for lunch. Amazing service and the food was top notch. The waitress was so nice. She realized our French wasn’t very good, so she was nice enough to try her best at speaking English to explain the menu. That was a sweet expression of kindness towards us Americans. Great view of the cathedral.

I don't really understand the good reviews about this place. It's very overpriced for the food, we had a chicken bagel and it was made with reconstituted "fake" chicken not real chicken. The puddings were very mediocre. It's 70s themed and isn't a good take on 70s food.
The staff were very friendly though.

Really good. Lots of attention to detail. Not touristy despite the location . A very small menu, bagels and one main dish that changes. No fries at all as a matter of principle. Nice 1970s decoration (ask your kids to call a number on the rotary phone!). If you're looking for fries or croque monsieur or Crepes, this is not the right place, but there are enough other places for that in Normandy already. The waitress spoke good English (I believe).
