Chez Pepe

I recently dined at Chez Pepe in Flic en Flac Mauritius, and it was an unforgettable culinary experience! From the warm welcome to the breathtaking ocean views everything was perfect. The restaurant’s cozy yet elegant ambiance set the mood for a fantastic meal. I started with the **Grilled Octopus Salad**—tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For the main course, I had the **Signature Mauritian Fish Curry**, which was an explosion of rich, aromatic spices and fresh local fish that melted in my mouth. The **Garlic Butter Lobster** was also incredible—succulent, buttery, and cooked to perfection. The service was exceptional; the staff was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely passionate about Mauritian cuisine. They even recommended the perfect local white wine to pair with our seafood dishes. To top it off, the dessert—**Homemade Coconut Flan**—was the perfect sweet ending to an amazing meal. The prices were reasonable for the high-quality ingredients and generous portions. If you’re in Mauritius and love seafood, Chez Pepe is a must-visit! Fresh, flavorful, and authentically Mauritian—I can’t wait to return.

We had a disappointing experience at Chez Pepe. We ordered the seafood gratin, which was overpriced and BAD in both taste and quality. The pizza was fair, nothing exceptional, but acceptable. What really ruined the evening, however, was the terrible service. We waited for nearly an hour for our pizza, only to realise that our order had been completely forgotten—while other guests who arrived after us were already enjoying their meals. When we finally expressed our frustration and asked to cancel the order, the waiter admitted the mistake and literally begged us to stay. Out of compassion for him, we stayed—but it was clear to us this was not a place we’d return to. Sadly, despite its central location, Chez Pepe fell far short of what we’d expect in both food quality and basic service. Definitely not an experience we’d recommend.

The food was excellent . I ordered a lot of food and everything was delicious Honestly one of the best lasagnas I ever tasted. Honourable mention to Miss Charlene who offered my family and I a heavenly service. It maxe our nights.

There are many little restaurants along Flic en Flac beach road but this eve we chose Chez Pepe. We were not disappointed 😍 The staff were so friendly, the food arrived quickly, and it was honestly some of the best food I've ever had. Fresh, flavourful, and great portions. Will definitely be back before we leave the island!

Went for the octopus salade and chicken Daube....was amazing. The pizzas are by far the best on the island but the authentic Mauritian plates are also delicious.

Very good welcome and client first spirit of Charlene. Thank you! We ordered 2 virgin pina colada. They were not so good. Charlene instantly called the barman and they recognized that it was a pb. They redo it. Then we wanted to have our desert quick (or leave without desert) as we had another appointment . Charlene went to kitchen and found a solution. Thank you!

We ate here 5 times during our stay. Everything was very tasty, quick service, welcoming staff, nice view of the sunset across the street. Nothing to complain about

A great location and view coupled with amazing food! The menu has lots of options, but I recommend trying one of the Mauritian foods which is what coming to Mauritius is all about. I was recommended the Mauritian chicken curry thoroughly enjoyed it! I asked for it to be hot (spicy-wise), it was quite mild. Options for hot hot would be welcome. Charlene was super friendly, efficient, and attentive. In addition to her colleagues too.
