Tucked away in the lively Marché des Enfants Rouges, Chez Taeko is a true hidden gem for anyone craving authentic Japanese street food. I had the pleasure of trying their Gyu Don – tender, slow-cooked beef over perfectly cooked rice, it hit every umami note just right.
The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, even in the middle of a bustling market. You can feel the passion in every plate and every smile.
Chez Taeko isn’t just a food spot – it’s an experience of flavor and great people.

Always a pleasure and a great experience eating at Chez Taeko or getting food to go. It’s super flavourful. The agedashi tofu has the perfect texture between crispy outside and soft inside. The fish is fresh for the maki. The sushi rice is sometimes a little warm and soft, though. Portions to price ratio is well done. The staff is very efficient.

Really good food! The fried chicken was perfect and so was the vegetable tempura. The service on the overhand was not great so don’t expect friendly or welcoming service.

Ordered the wrong thing! Didn’t very much enjoy the Donburi Chicken Teryaki, it was served in a patty form with really huge bits of garlic/onions- I personally don’t like the huge chunks…
Although, I tried my mom’s Bento Ebi Fry and jt was amazing! Highly recommend- if you know the restaurant in the Philippines called “Yabu” it tastes just like it! Staff is very kind, but slightly overpriced-

No frills, easy going Japanese stall in this foodie market near the Marais! Love how unpretentious it is. The food is simple, fresh, quick, and affordable. The place does get quite busy at peak times but we went quite early and was able to get a table quite quickly. Definitely try the specials.

Despite it getting super busy in this part of the Marais, the food arrived quick, hot, fresh, and delicious. One of my new favorite Japanese places in Paris to go to for bento! I recommend you grab one to go and go to the nearby park and enjoy every bite ❤️
