Chez Teapot

Update: I recently visited this place again and ordered the blueberry cheesecake. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as good as before, the cheesecake had a slightly hard texture and wasn’t as enjoyable. They have also increased the price from ₹160 to ₹220. The café has updated its menu and have not mentioned about the ‘slow service’, they have new prices. Overall, I would say this café can be a bit of a hit or miss. —— Visited this café mainly for their cheesecake. The menu stood out as it introduced a unique concept of slow service’ ,where everything is made from scratch. Interestingly, you’d only notice this idea if you actually read the menu and in practice, the service wasn’t slow as mentioned. The host was very sweet and attentive, and the café had a calm, silent vibe. The entrance, with its creeping plants, gave the place a really pretty touch.For a café in Fort Kochi, the prices were quite reasonable. The board outside mentioned strawberry cheesecake as the special, but it wasn’t available, so we went for the blueberry cheesecake instead, along with Ginger Tea and Jasmine Tea. The blueberry cheesecake was delicious with just the right amount of sweetness. The Jasmine tea was light and pleasant, while the Ginger tea was a bit too strong for my taste. Overall, the food was good and the experience pleasant.

What a wonderful find! We ordered the blueberry cheesecake, samosa chaat, pineapple lassi and they were all delicious and a great value. The staff and owner are lovely people and we felt so welcomed at this cafe. There is even an adorable cat roaming the cafe. Overall we would highly recommend this cafe for the food, atmosphere and people! (And oops couldn’t get a picture of the cheesecake beforehand because it was too tasty)

Stumbled upon this gem, just walking around. Lucky find! The food was superb! Chocolate pancakes with coffee, chicken sandwich with orange juice, banana pancakes, avocado toast and watermelon juice. And all this for less than INR. 1, 100. Superb value for money, and every dish was excellent. Now coming to the vibe. Happy green and yellow walls greet you, adorned with antiques. The proprietor, a delightful person who wears many hats, explained all these are family heirlooms, now greeting the guests. Saw another side that was very telling about the ethos of the place - that they are great hosts but brook no obnoxious behavior. A senior white Gentleman came im, while the place was full with breakfast rush, and proceeded to occupy the couch, sipping his coffee The owner explaines the place was reserved and he would have to move to a smaller table, to whi h he responded, seemingly in jest, that he'd be out in a few minutes and not to look down upon solo customers. We all smiled. A playful comment. Unfortunately, he didn't leave for quite a while and when he was asked again, politely, he started creating a fuss, talking to the lady in a condescending tone. She stood her ground and asked him to leave, the coffee would be on the house. The cantankerous old man raised his voice and soon there was a racial undertone that was quite unmissable. She finally did get him to leave. He caused quite a scene, but the lady and her staff managed it smoothly. Kudos to her for not giving in to his ragebaiting and quietly asking him to leave. Definitely recommend the place for their great food and ambience. You feel like a part of family tradition, and yes, there's a cute feline friend who says hello to the guests in between naps. A hidden treasure in Fort Kochi. One you definitely must discover!

Such a beautiful vibe of the place!! Loved the live music on every Wednesday evening from 8pm onwards. I had the Samosa chat and ginger lemon honey. Both were delicious. The service was also quick and really good. There is a potential for the bathroom and the kitchen areas to be improved in terms of cleanliness and noise. But overall a really good experience.

If you pass by the lane there is no doubt you will immediately fall in love with the sheer look of this place. In simple terms Chez Teapot is a beautiful cafe with a selection of teas and few foods you wouls wanna snack on. They have a slow service model and everything is made with love. So visit there when you wanna have a nice chat with your loved one or friends and talk while enjoying the food. I would highly recommend it for breakfast as the morning light gives the cafe a magical glow worth basking in.

Lovely historic place. They serve a good selection of small plates which we appreciated for lunch in the heat of the day. The samosas were perfect.

we didn't find many appealing menus. we went for the classic french toast and tea. it was good. the ambiance of the place also amazing, no loud music, the staffs are nice, and the location is easy to find.
