Had a wonderful meal here at Chez Thomás. The food was excellent quality, so very fresh. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend eating here to anyone who hasn’t been - you’ll definitely return 👌. We ordered a bottle of white wine, had a sharing starter, for mains - sea bream on potatoes and also pork secreto (and added a portion of fries for the pork). Followed by crème brûlée to share (it’s a perfect sharing dessert). Total bill 95€

All the good reviews reflect the old menu, which was inventive and gastronomic. Now, the menu is much simpler, featuring local cuts of meat and fish, and overall smaller portions. The meat is served on wooden cutting boards, which cheapens the experience and seems to cater more to an undemanding british clientele. Aside from the name "Chez Tomas", it feels like a completely different place. Honestly, it's not worth it anymore.

Excellent food and wine, the owner was also amazingly helpful. My wife and I loved the starters so much that we got another one instead of dessert! We would definitely go back! Also, live music!

A real highlight at Llafranc! We had the patatas bravas (really good, very different to all others), sea bass and the Nero seafood tagliatelle. Everything was phenomenal. Great spot too looking at the hillside and greenery around. Can’t fault it!

Chez Tomas was the culinary gem of our recent trip to Costa Brava and our favorite meals in the entire region. We dined there twice and both meals were unique, expertly made, and exquisitely delicious. The "secret pork" and braised beef were amazing and my partner absolutely loved every dessert they tried.

A hidden gem of a place. The food was divine. The service was friendly & attentive, but not overbearing & the price was fine.

Excellent meal. We had Caesar salad and the Burrata to start. Outstanding, a meal in itself as the portions were big. For main we had Ibireca pork and Salmon., both were well seasoned and well presented. Would definitely go back. We sat inside because of the risk of being next to smokers outside ( there really should be no smoking outside areas in all hospitality) and the only improvement i would suggest is for more comfortable chairs. Overall, really excellent

We were very veeeery disappointed by paella. Came to this town specifically because we heard the paella was nice😩 It was tasteless and soupy and the rice was too raw. I even asked for salt but it didn’t help, you can imagine. Xuxa dessert didn’t taste bad, but the texture was too mushy. They don’t offer bread which is kinda unusual for a restaurant of a level like this. In general, good terrace, average food, and nice but very slow service. Worst paella😡

Yelp
The pork secret and tortellini with Gorgonzola sauce were delicious. We had also had a tomato salad and a green salad both of which were fresh and perfect. We loved our bottle of local wine, too. The staff were terrific. Ambiance outside lovely.

Yelp
My wife and i were looking for a nice place for dinner in Llafranc after driving and hiking most of the day and we came across Chez Tomas - seemed like a nice place but I have to say that I have been to a lot of places in the world but never have I been treated so rudely!! After we walked into a Restaurante to inquire about a table for 2 the man who greeted us (not sure if he was the maitre d' or the owner ) was extremely rude and short with us , almost like we were an inconveniencing him! He said they were fully booked , we asked if we could sit outside and his response was "no" - then he turned his back on us and walked away !! - WOW!! I don't care if the food is 6 stars I would not spend a dime there !! Walk down the street to Can Leon , food is great and the service is outstanding !!!

Yelp
Llafranc is itself a beautiful place, and this place is not too far at all from the beach, but far enough from all the other touristy restaurants. The waiter was very knowledgeable and excited about the menu, telling us in great detail the daily special, how it's prepared, and how we must have it as it's a local specialty! And so we went for the daily menu x 3, taking three different starters and 3 of the same main course. For the starters, we had asparagus (very well cooked), stuffed red peppers, and a salad. The main course was a regional dish prepared from rice, various seafood, sausages, and other meats. It was kind of the consistency of risotto. It was ok, but as I'm not a fan of risottos, I wasn't too big of a fan of this either. The cheese and honey dessert was simple but very good. One note, the honey should already be on the cheese, or served in some container, and not in a plastic box (it was one of those single serve boxes of honey). Overall great food and ambiance to take a break from strolling around LLafranc.

Yelp
Spain is a country full of bad manners, horrible hospitality, laziness, and not so good food... Thankfully, you will find none of that here. It was 1:30pm when we started looking for a place to eat and whilst every restaurant told us "we have no availability", even though 60% of the restaurant was empty, Tomas welcomed us both warmly. He spent a fair amount of time explaining and translating the menu to us and offered us one of their most local dishes "black rice", which may sound simple enough, however is one of the most unique and tasteful dishes we've had in Spain as of yet. Overall, the food quality, tastes and service were second to none and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone passing in the area!

Yelp
Restaurant owner was very friendly and welcoming. The food and the service are exceptional! You must try the "black rice"- it's authentic and you will not find it better anywhere else. I would definitely recommend coming to check out this place- delicioso!!

Yelp
We dined at this restaurant tonight I have to say that this is the best food I've eaten in a very long time. We live in San Francisco we know were good food is. This place was off the charts. Tomas was delightful and the food creative, fresh, and amazing. I don't know what the other reviewers experienced when they were here, but this place is absolutely top dining. Great service and friendly people. Do the secret pork and the scallop warm salad and you will be in heaven. This is a must go place.
