A nightmare. Garbage everywhere - on the beach and in the water, sewage flowing into the water, grass burning, burning garbage and disgusting
"resorts", some abandoned.
The forest has been devastated, cut down to make some absurdly wide roads leading to nowhere. There are practically no forest paths left.
According to an article found in the Khmer Times, a city is to be built here, whatever that means.
It breaks my heart because the island has the potential to be an ideal ecotourism destination.
There are still a few beautiful places left on the island, such as Sunset Beach, Lazy Beach or Pearl Beach, but it is best to give Saracen Bay a wide berth.
