Chiado 44

We have not even checked out yet, but I want to write this review. I recommend this hotel in the strongest terms. We may have had service that equals this hotel, but none have ever surpassed it. They have offered and delivered everything we could have needed and wanted, including rides, amenities, laundry pick, luggage handling and more! The hotel has no elevator, but so what, you only have to get yourself up a couple of flights of stairs and if you’re touring Lisbon, that’s nothing. Our room had everything we needed, it’s clean, comfortable and well maintained. It’s situated perfectly for walking to museums, markets, restaurants and stores. I don’t know if you could find a better all around place to stay in Lisbon.

Charming, updated hotel, clean, comfortable. The staff was amazing, and we enjoyed talking with them. It is nice and quiet there, romantic, and in a fantastic location within walking distance of everything. Wonderful experience and so happy to have had the pleasure of staying there!

Location is good in old town and it is old and boutique building. But No elevator. They gave us room at 5th floor. Staff was nice and courteous to help far bags lifting etc. it was difficult for us to stay so we change the hotel and they were nice enough to offer us refund.

Friendly staff and amazing location if your wanting to be in the happening part of lisbon. This is a very old building so I'm taking this into consideration with what to expect. The 5th floor room offers amazing view. But there are no elevators, not a big deal till you spent the last few hours going up and down lisbons steep streets lol. Bathroom ceiling is so low you have to sit to pee, shower same thing, tiny. You will most definitely hit your head. But rooms were clean, and staff was very accommodating. P.S an Uber ride from the airport to this location is $12 CAD

We had a lovely stay at Chiado44. Staff were helpful and friendly, arranged collection and drop off from the airport and kept our baggage safe for us when we arrived too early to check in. We had a balcony room with river view, it was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The location is great. There is no breakfast and there are a lot of steps but neither of these were an issue for us. We would definitely stay again.

Although I did like the hotel, I was very disappointed with the customer service from Isabella. She was dishonest and I did not appreciate being lied to. We arrived in Lisbon and I mistakenly booked arrival for the following day at a different hotel. They did not have availability so they called Chiado and were told there was availability so we went to Chaido 44. I really did not want to change hotels the following night and verbalized this to Isabella. We had already decided we would stay at Chiado 44 for the 1st night and my husband went to the other hotel to gather our luggage. Isabella then told me she could give me the 2nd night at no charge (because of some promotion). I literally said "Wait, no charge?" and she said yes. She proceeded to tell me it was available for a smaller room which I was fine with. It was not time for checkin so we left and returned later. At that time there was a different person working, she proceeded to charge us for both nights and I explained the offer Isabella gave us. She called Isabella & I spoke to her and Isabella said I was incorrect. We paid for both nights cause we had already cancelled our other room (which we had to pay for). Isabella LIED to me! If she wanted to charge us for the 2nd night why did she just not tell me??? I could have then made a decision, after cancelling the prior room she then put us in a position where we paid double! Again, do not appreciate the dishonesty!! I am sure someone will adress my review & deny what happened. This is what happened to us!!

I had a wonderful stay at Chiado 44, located right in the heart of Lisbon. The location is unbeatable, with easy access to the city’s best attractions, restaurants, and shops. The rooms were clean, modern, and very comfortable, making it a great retreat after a day of exploring. The only downside is that the building doesn’t have an elevator, which can be challenging if you have heavy luggage or mobility concerns. However, the staff went above and beyond to help us carry our bags up the stairs, which made all the difference. Their friendliness and willingness to assist really stood out. Overall, a great place to stay if you’re looking for comfort and convenience in Lisbon! Monica and All the front desk staff was very kind and friendly.

We booked a room in Chiado 44 for its central location, 5 minutes from the Baixa-Chiado metro station and 10 minutes from the Cais do Sodre and Rossio train stations in either direction. We were aware that the hotel has no lift and that all their rooms are on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of the building. We stayed in a 5th floor room looking onto the inner courtyard. It was comfortable, clean, quiet and cool - the perfect place to relax after a day of snooping around Lisbon. The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. We had a lovely experience here in a very central location and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
