Chiang Mai Hill Hotel

We stayed here last October and spent three wonderful days with my partner. The place was very comfortable and felt relaxing from the moment we arrived. The staff were incredibly kind and approachable—they greeted us warmly every day, which made our stay even more pleasant. We didn’t get the chance to try the restaurant since we chose to eat outside, but everything else exceeded our expectations. Housekeeping was excellent; the room was always clean, and fresh sheets and towels were provided regularly. Overall, it was a lovely experience, and I highly recommend this place for couples looking for comfort, good service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Check in 14.01.2026. Check out 18.01.2026. Group checked in. First day check in, bath room shower water very low pressure. Informed hotel, sent a Maintenance tech n repair. No improvement, request for change room, was told all rooms full. Due to late night. Stop the repair n continue tomorrow. Next day at night back to hotel. Found bath room totally no water supply. Informed hotel. Maintenance tech came n repair. Later was told the whole building no water supply. There need to call outside help. That night all not taking shower.

Staff: Mostly friendly and professional, except few. I asked the female staff for early check-in and left my luggage at the designated place. Then, she said, “No, you have to wait until 14:00”. Immediately after her response, the male staff approached me and processed it. He also allowed me to change room without any charge and to store my luggage in the room, instead of the designated area. Room: For those who like 80s-90s vibe, this is for you, and me too. The AC is loud and cleaned. The ceiling, on the other hand, has strains from water. The curtain has a strain that looks like either blood or coffee. The wall looks unpolished, creating a running down impression of the hotel. The socket, TV, lift, and fridge are functional, fortunately. 2 bottles of water are set by the hotel standard. Please clean up those strains and walls. Bathroom: It contains dusts on the ventilation fan’s cover. There is mold strain on the wall that could be mistaken as black mold initially. Please clean up it as it could evolve to such in the future. Location: Not far away from the pubs, so music can get loud inside the room as it has poor soundproof. Unless you don’t mind the sound, or want to stay away from the city centre, go for it.

For 700b. per night is actually very reasonable. But the first room they gave us was at another building to the left of the front. It was so run down, we have to request a new room, which they gave us the room on the same building with the front lobby. The new room is good, every thing works well and we are happy with our stay.

Terrible, terrible, terrible hotel. As you arrive you are hopeful of a good standard, unfortunately once you are passed the cheerful porter everything goes downhill. ||I'll start at the beginning, the reception staff are mostly unfriendly and unwelcoming, the lifts are in a poor state of repair inside, I only hope that the mechanical and safety systems are in a better state. If you decide to take the stairs, expect to find yourself in a dirty dingy stairwell similar to service staircase in a busy factory.||The rooms, we tried 2, both were dimly lit and felt dirty. I'm not convinced they were actually dirty but due to the very poor lighting it felt that way. In both the rooms we opened the curtains to get some more light into the room only to find another building almost touching distance away therefore allowing no natural light in.||The bed was solid, which my partner believes was less comfortable than the authentic Thai house bed which we had tried earlier in the day on a trip which was solid wood with nothing on top!!||The room was cold and no matter what we did we could not get the air conditioning to warm up or stop!! And the telephone ran, presumably through to reception but remained unanswered. ||Needless to say we did not have a great night's sleep and following that I woke up itching all over! Not a great sign. ||The morning breakfast was ok but nothing to be proud of.||Lastly the toilet in our room also leaked, a fact we didn't notice until we left the hotel. ||All in all probably the worst hotel I've stayed in during my 56 years on this planet, so much so that we left without even attempting to get a refund, just the desire to leave the place sooner rather than later.

Location: The hotel boasts its location that it is close to things but to be honest, yes, it was a short walk (less than 1km from the MAYA mall) and the nimman area… but the MAYA mall itself was pretty boring to walk in, can really do it in like an hour unless you’re really there for clothes shopping. There were alot more other hostels / hotels even closer and lots of them in Nimman so I don’t think this is one of the best to choose from. Also it was on a main road that most driver doesn’t want to do a U turn to get on to the same side to drop off (when doing join in tours)ALSO… a lot of the times when I wanted to just get a GRAB on the spot to somewhere - literally - NO DRIVERS accepts! I had to walk all the way to the Nimman area for someone to accept my booking. The only time it worked is when I booked one day in advance for pick up from hotel to airport. Hotel facilities: Restaurants: apart from the dining hall that opens for the buffet breakfast (6-10am) (breakfast was also very basic) + they have another lunch round from 11:30-2pm, nothing else is available at the hotel, no room service, nothing. There is a Japanese restaurant and a cafe on site that looks like it has been closed forever. The gym and swimming pool is only available from 7am-8pm which isn’t exactly the best timings for guests. Some of us would like to start our day with the gym then go for the breakfast, you can’t exactly go to the gym then do breakfast because by the time you finished at the gym, only leftovers at the breakfast. So I hardly saw anyone using these. The elevator is also small and slow. Carpets in the hall way looks old and dirty. Room: I’m really disappointed because there is a bathtub but the plug thing that stops water running down the drain doesn’t actually covers the entire hole so I was never able to use the bath tub. One night out of my 5 nights, the ceiling was leaking in the bathroom at around 10pm, at that time, I was in a bathrobe and eating fruits but wanted to inform the reception so I tried using the phone in room… IT DOESNT WORK! So I had to go all the way down from 7th floor to let them know. They asked me to go back to my room and wait for technician, after like 10 mins, he came and passed me a note that reads do not let water get out of the bathtub! I was quite angry because THE CEILING WAS LEAKING also, no matter how well I try to shower (with the shower curtains closed the water still managed to escape!) I was so sick and tired of it… seems like the design of the bathtub just ain’t great, you really got to see it in order to really understand my situation. TV in room.. everything was in Thai and I couldn’t even change the channels so I was never able to watch h TV. Housekeeping is really not up to standard, a lot of the time, the bed doesn’t look like it was done properly… Overall, a disappointing stay, I wouldn’t recommend and I wouldn’t stay again.

Location was the reason for choosing this place. As we entered our room we were struck by the smoking smell. This was very shocking and unexpected. Shower screen had holes in it and the bathroom got flooded very quickly. We didn’t want to disturb the housekeeper as it was about 11pm.

The room was very nice and big. Had 3 nice setting chairs and an elevator to the floor of my room. Buffet breakfast was good but missing the bacon. Easy to check in and check out.
