The hotel is old. It needs a renovation. It was clean and staff was nice. I lost the key and I found the fee to be excessive. 300 bath for a card key. Those are given frondree in other hotels since it is just a piece of plastic. It is located around 15 minutes away from the main area. Good if you want something peaceful.

I stayed here for about a week and a half as part of a group. I liked this hotel a lot more than the reviews suggested I would. The rooms are large, clean, quiet and comfortable and have the traditional style. The staff were friendly, and the lobby is lovely. The only real downside of this hotel is that it is sort of in an out of the way area. About a quarter mile from the walled city and half a mile from the shopping of Nimman. It's next door to a crumbling, decaying mall and hotel. However, it's a great value for what it offers.

It is a GRAND hotel but old. Although it is old and has a damp smell especially our floor (6th floor) we still enjoyed our stay. First thing was that it was affordable. We are a family of 5 and we were able to get connecting rooms. There was a bit of a mishap with the bed which could have been avoided if common sense was used but in the end we couldn’t wait for the housekeeping so we arrange the bed ourselves. The rooms were big and the children had fun running around. It wasn’t that clean in terms of, under the bed wasn’t cleaned, toilets were clean but only the visible and important parts. Lets just say if you are a clean freak do not stay here. I think it’s also because we came when it was not in season so manpower was less. But over all, the sheets were clean, the bed had no mold or mildew, toilets are cleaned, trash was thrown out every day. Staff were helpful. Again please be aware that this is an old hotel. It is affordable and the most important is, it is safe. It is a tuk tuk ride away from the old city. We will stay again but maybe try the upper flowers, it seems newly renovated. To add, the swimming pool was great! Just ignore the abandoned shopping mall at the side. Such a shame as this shopping mall was one of the best malls in town but because of Covid it has been closed down. Maya mall is a 10 minute ride away.

Room is super dark and run down but clean. Elevator is fast , gym and pool are excellent. Staffs are kind enough to pay attention to my request. I reserved parking space and request early check in and it went smoothly. Location can’t be better . 7-11 is just opposite the hotel. Nimman within 15 mins walk.

We booked for 3 nights. The first 2 nights went fine. Then our last night, there’s a blackout from 14:00-17:30(as notified) but it went on to 20:00 hours. We couldn’t even get inside our rooms until 17:30. Still, there was no electricity in the rooms when we could finally get inside. There hotel doesn’t seem to have a backup system judging by the long blackout. That’s just a minus.

Overall not recommended.- Saw 2 croaches the first night I stayed at Orchid Hotel.- Lack of cleanliness. Stains on bedsheets and the room smells.- Since it's quite an old hotel, there are unnecessary installments in the room that may hurt the kids. Adults have to keep an eye on the kids constantly.- Dark in the room.Good things about Orchid Hotel:- The outdoor pool is wide and nice.- The location has easy access to tourism spots.

This hotel is extremely good value for money. It is full of art, beautiful furniture, and has an ornate feel. Gym and pool are free of charge to use for guests and it has a restaurant and a cafe. Rooms were spacious and well kept and had lots of old/ vintage dark wood furniture. Staff were helpful and friendly and happy to assist with my luggage

Stayed here with family during Songkran. We had two adjoining rooms.|The front lobby was clean and very pleasing to the eye.||The rooms and the corridors are very tired indeed. The bathroom needed a total refurb but the shower was very good. The beds were very comfortable and had good sleep the 4 nights we were there.||The pool area is also very tired. Only used the pool once and that was enough.||Breakfast was available but we did not partake.|There is also a Chinese restaurant at the hotel but we were shocked as to how expensive it was compared to the food available outside the hotel.||All in all a good base for exploring Chiang Mai and the surrounding areas but don't expect 5 star quality.
