We spent a few nights during the off-season at Ruth and Brad's campsite. It was really nice, clean and well maintained. We also had a visit from their dog, their cat and the hyraxes that live on the site. As a camper, you can also use the barbecue on the terrace with its sensational view. If you don't feel like cooking, you can also eat with Ruth and Brad by prior arrangement (very tasty). Ruth and Brad are very nice hosts who really make you feel at home. They are also helpful and give you tips on where to spot which animals in the Kafue Park, how to make Brads delicious Chili-Sauce, where to shop in the village and where to make a stopover. Thank you both, we can highly recommend a stay with you. Michael and Sarah

We spent 3 nights in Chibila and we had a great time! Brad and Ruth are very welcoming. They gave us many advices to visit the national park and to plan the rest of our trip 😍 Campsite is good with power, ablutions perfects (hot shower, clean place) and the terrace and lake view are amazing. Everything was perfect, thank you very much, I hope we will come back! ❤️

Chalets are clean and well presented, tucked into the rocks and the lounge and bar area has an excellent view out over the lake. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you want to avoid large hotels with alot of people, as it is a relatively small establishment. Perfect for peace and quite.

Incredibly hospitable hosts, and a spectacular view of the lake. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere very chilled and relaxing, will definitely be back. Thank you Ruth and Brad.

We are two bikers crossing Africa. We stayed here for 3 nights. It was amazing. Brad and his wife are so friendly and welcoming. And the landscape over the lake is very beautiful. Worth the visit

Sadly we had a bad experience here! As we arrived on our motorbike we met four other travellers who had rented a couple of lodges and tented camp. As not everyone in their group turned up they had a free lodge that was paid for but not used. Being fellow bikers they offered us the lodge they had already paid for. We checked with Brad (owner) if he’s okay with it and he said sure. The other group also confirmed with Brad BEFORE we moved into it. But despite this Brad and Ruth created a really weird vibe and we felt pretty unwelcome there. Adding to this was the fact that the other group was allowed to order all their meals there but we were told that we can’t eat there. We had initially planned to stay two nights but changed our plans to an extra day as the cottage was paid for anyway, as was the tent although half the group was departing early. Despite the fact the other group had a lodge and tent paid for not being occupied Brad would not allow us to stay a third night. He was quite rude in the way he kicked us out and even threatened us if we were to leave a bad review. He raised his voice, was very intimidating and rude. We couldn’t settle our drinks bill fast enough, desperate to get out of there. Sadly this occurred at midday meaning we had to pack and move to another place at the hottest time of the day. Ruth was very hostile the entire time and doesn’t like confrontation so left and hid in her house while Brad was losing it. He didn’t just upset us but all the other travellers thought he was unreasonable and were appalled by his behaviour!

We had a great time at Chibila Camp. You can rent a safari tent or a small house. We had dinner with owners Ruth and Brad every night and marvelled at the stories these two Africa-veterans had to share. Roads from and to Lusaka and/or Livingstone not for the fainthearted (we did it in a sedan, so it's doable).
