Ordered a plim plim themed cake for my daughter's first birthday. I sent them a photo of what i wanted and they were able to recreate it. I got a tres leches flavored cake and was very pleased with the outcome.

This place never deserved star I ordered for my baby first birthday cake the cake test trouble no one eat at all I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ if they use expired cream or medicine. and also very expensive I order $80 very small cake and trouble testing I west everything my birthday invite kids no one eat nothing. Sorry to see this kind of bakery .all my order is dumped to garbage 🗑 just west of money 💰.

I’m very surprised by all the bad reviews honestly. I’ve been going to Chicago bakery for a while now & they have never disappointed me. Every time I’ve been indecisive they’ve always been so patient & sweet with me. The corona cake was from last year & the second cake was from March 2024 & they did exactly as the inspo pictures. Their mango flavor cake is personally my favorite.

I found a dead bug on my pastel de piña and I lost my appetite because of it. Horrible place.

I should have reviewed a long time ago but honestly I am soo happy with this Bakery they made my wedding cake back in 2016 for 200 people, it was so delicious and at an affordable price they also delivered on time. But yesterday was my daughters first birthday party and I was so busy I completely forgot the birthday cake. They were able to make something for us with short notice, it was super delicious and again their price was awesome compared to other bakeries in our area. It just feels like they make all their cakes with love because all my guest at both my wedding and now my daughters bday were asking for seconds! They always have great costumer service.

I stopped by to get a cake for my husband from the cakes they had available that day. I needed nothing fancy. My son picked out an Oreo cake they had on display. We cut into it that night after dinner and it was by far, the worst cake I have ever tasted in my life. It was salty, dry and the frosting was too sweet. The Oreos were stale. It appeared this cake was either made by an amateur or we got an old cake. In any case I will never buy anything from this bakery. That was a waste of $31.

So I was in a hurry to get a tres leches for my girlfriends first birthday with us together, later in the day I read reviews and was very scared haha, no wonder why it was so cheap, lol turned out it was amazing, everyone loved it, beautiful, delicious and very affordable, I told her where I got it and that’s where she got mine for my birthday and her daughters as well so I had it a number of times without knowing, and it never failed. Placed my order only 2 days in advance during graduation time too, and no problem.

Been doing my best to support local businesses at Wheaton Triangle, but the county has left almost no parking and now there are tow trucks circling like vultures despite poor and confusing signage. Almost got towed tonight running into Chicago Bakery for a slice of birthday cake. They extorted out of $25 to get them to go away. Looked like their parking and I was only there 5 minutes. Just not worth it. Guess I'll have to take my business elsewhere, if Chicago Bakery cared about its customers it would clearly mark that on its back door. Though I got to say the cake is quite good, I'm disappointed that I cannot risk parking there again.

If I could put a zero I would shit of a place the cake taste like bleach went the next day to return their cake they refused to refund me my money. I collected on the pieces back because no one wanted to eat it still had the nerve to say the cake was supposed to taste like that.

I popped in for a cup of coffee, but I could not take my eyes off of some of the desserts. I played it safe and ordered a piece of pound cake. The cake was dense, but was very light and moist. Will have try other pastries next time.

I was excited to see a bakery named 'Chicago Bakery.' I was surprised to see some pans, random fruit pies, wedding cakes, fancy little individual cakes, etc. I had their Cheese Danish, which was delicious and a tad bit sweeter (full of cream cheese deliciousness) and a one-of-a-kind little chocolate monster on a chocolate cupcake type of thing (filled with chocolate mouse) - the cake itself was dry, but I did like the hard chocolate and the mousse. The service was great and with a smile. +Cheese Danish +friendly service

My place of work asked me to pick up a cake for our celebration of the June 14th U.S. Army Birthday. On Monday, I stopped at the Chicago Bakery to place an order and the staff were extraordinarily helpful. They worked with me to help choose the design, size and flavor. They also promised to have everything ready by the time I came to pick it up later in the week. When I arrived Thursday morning, they were again excellent in their service. I asked for a slight modification of the cake design and the staff were able to make the change on the spot. They also professionally boxed up the cake and I was able to transport it from Silver Spring, MD, to Arlington, VA, without a single blemish. The cake was perfect (Straw-Banana Atomic) and numerous coworkers spoke about how much they enjoyed it! By the end of our event, there was no leftovers. Now, a day later, I still have coworkers stop me in the hall and tell me how much they enjoyed the cake. My office will definitely use this bakery again and I highly recommend it to others!

I'm from the Midwest so I had to stop by and get the atomic cake. It was authentic and delicious. All the layers were extremely fresh and I ordered same day. It took about 4 hours from order to pickup. I also love their tres leches cake. I just got a slice but it was so good I had to take all my friends back here for more... in the same day.

The pastry dough that was used to make the Bavarian and the turnover was excellent! And the filling of the Bavarian was delicious. The guava pastry was also good. I do not know where these bad reviews are coming from. It was extremely delicious.

Terrible! They are liar on making a White Chocolate Moose cake like the Watergate Bakery. I had my mom complain out loud during our daddy's birthday for this cake. My mom said it was the Worst cake ever. I felt embarrassed and I'm ashamed that the Bakery lied on they can do it. Just don't lie when you can't do it and be upfront honest for more repeat customer business.

Stopped by to pick up a cake and while there, I tried one of their "sapitos" basically a cupcake covered in chocolate. The decoration on the cake was pretty, but I should have known something was wrong when they wrote the name in bright pink icing that didn't match the cake decoration Well, the tres leches cake I took to the Party was so nasty. It was basically a stale cake drenched in milk and vanilla. The cake itself tasted like week old left over cake. Very unpleasant and embarrassing to present to the party. The "Sapito" was also gross. The cupcake was drenched. Tasted like stale cupcake dipped in water. Never again!

My daughter's birthday was may 12 and we wanted a special cake. After calling different places in the Gaithersburg Area. We decided to go with Chicago bakery. They were professional and friendly. The cake came out exactly like we wanted and it was delicious. We got the napolitano flavor on the cake. It was moist and very tasty. I'm so glad we pick them and if I ever need a cake again I won't hesitate to order from them again.

I've been here a couple of times and I've been very happy with my experience. The staff is nice and the bakery goods are great! I always leave with a full bag of pastries. The prices are really good! You could get yourself a 3 large pastries for the same price of 2 small ones at starbucks. It's also a mom n pop so check them out! You can't miss them. RED RED RED.

Chicago Bakery provided our wedding cake this past weekend, it was exceptional. I stumbled upon this bakery when I was looking for an engagement cake for a friend. We did a white cake with strawberry filling and cream frosting. It was moist, sweet, and breast ably priced. We received so many compliments on the appearance as well as the taste. We had some slight confusion about pillars- I didn't love them but I loved the cake. Since they were recommended by the bakery due to the weight of the cake from all of the filling, I completely agreed. When I arrived at the hall, I noticed there were no pillars. I didn't care either way but if it is something your are particular about, make a specific note. They were extraordinarily helpful and kind every occasion we spoke-highly recommended.

Awesome tres leches cake. Right in the shopping center where Dunkin Doughnuts is, parking in the back. Great prices and awesome cakes.

This bakery makes great tasting cakes and pastries. I was looking for a birthday cake for my son and he wanted a marble cake, they don't make that kind of cake but they made an exception and the did it for me. It was so delicious and what I most like about their cakes is that there not to sweet.

Absolutely disappointed!!! We ordered a yellow gender reveal cake with a pink cream inside and they made the outside blue instead! When we presented it to our guests everyone was "oh it's a boy!" Since we will have a girl, which the inside revealed there was some kind of surprise to our guests! However, some of the cream inside was brown and not pink!! Why in the world would anyone make a reveal cake with blue frosting on the outside? That makes no sense! This cake was suppose to be the highlight of the party and it turned out to be a complete joke! Thanks Chicago bakery! Last time I ever do business with you. My friends and family will stay away as well!!

Excellent! I was desperately looking for a place like this for my husbands birthday. We needed chocolate mousse and we got chocolate mousse! They were able to make my cake in less than 24 hours and it was very reasonably priced. I will definitely go back!

We needed an impressively designed cake for our daughter's 18th birthday party of 180 guests. Chicago Bakery had no problem baking our design of five cakes on different levels and columns with decorations. Two sets of stairs held 18 small dolls and a beautiful fountain adorned the middle of the cake. The cake was delicious! Our guests were impressed! I highly recommend Chicago Bakery!

I was so excited to find pastelitos at Mayorga Coffee and was told they were from here, so put it on my list of places to check out. The shop is very close to University Blvd and Georgia Ave, so parking is a bit of an issue, but if you can get to it, the pastries are very fresh and varied. We tried the tres leches cake, which was super yummy and the cake tasted like it had been made that morning. Nom nom on the delish guava pastellitos too, though I wish they had guava and cheese on offer.

We've been going to this cozy Latino bakery for almost 5 years now, and they have the best boudin or bread pudding in the area! Great customer service and delicious and always fresh pastries and cakes. Mmm, their cheese cakes or quesadillas sprinkled with sesame seeds are really good too, not too salty, not too sweet.

Don't go. I called in and was told my cake would cost $25. I double checked when I arrived and the woman said yes again $25, but I was charged $45 on my receipt!! I went back with the cake and got my money back. Also was told they could make a strawberry cheesecake in 30 minutes (likely it was NOT fresh and they just put strawberries on top of it)
