"A remote archipelago with exceptional visibility, polychromatic reefs, coral gardens, and nearly 20 dive sites—including cleaning stations for mantas near Barren Island. Diving is best from November to May (monsoon season runs June to October), and local accommodations such as Big Tree Cottages (a five-star PADI dive resort in Chidiyatapu) offer jungle-embedded stays with access to regional sites." - Stephanie Vermillion Stephanie Vermillion Stephanie Vermillion is a travel journalist and photographer covering culture and adventure for Travel + Leisure Outside, and more. Chidiya Tapu Beach

Beautiful scenery with clear waters. Couple of big trees have fell and they add a natural beauty and good for taking photos on top of the tree the way it’s located. Well maintained with security area and beach closes at 4.30pm. Few local vendors selling fruits in carts, so be prepared to take drinking water snacks etc if travelling with kids. Warning signs are there to avoid water due to crocodiles been spotted.

The beach is quite lovely, but swimming is not permitted due to occasional crocodile sightings. It is also a very peaceful location, and there is a mini zoo. The road to Chidya Tapu is exceptionally scenic, with lush greenery, and city buses provide transportation. Additionally, there is a trek to Munda Pahad. The forest office is located here, at the southernmost point of Port Blair.

One of the best places to enjoy the sunset in port blaire. This place provides a breathtaking view of sunset and mountains. It gives the picnic vibes as many families and folks come and enjoy this place in the evening. There are chaat vendors nearby to sell different chats to enjoy the view even more. Though the place is a little rocky which is something to be taken care of.

Chidiya Tapu is a hidden gem in Port Blair that took my breath away! The drive to this spot is scenic, with lush green forests and glimpses of the coastline. Once there, the tranquility of the place is unmatched. The sunset views are absolutely magical — one of the best I’ve ever seen. It’s also a paradise for bird watchers and nature lovers, with a variety of birds and mangrove trails to explore. The beach is clean, calm, and perfect for relaxing. Chidiya Tapu is a must-visit if you’re looking to unwind in the lap of nature while in the Andamans.
