Church of Jesus of Casa Professa

If there ten stars, I will give it ten stars rating. It’s so luxurious and will make your jaw drop. The outside of church looks so ordinary but inside it is unbelievable richly decorated. I have never saw so much detailed art works. Not even in Vatican.

Beautiful church with the most incredible ceiling painting in vivid colours. Had a lovely nativity up with a very sweet message. If you're going to go to one church or even if you're not into churches you shouldn't skip this one!!

One of the most impressive churches I have seen. Definitely do not miss. Should be a highlight on par with the Norman Palace. The guide was amazing too, very knowledgeable.

I went on "Liberation Day" so there were big crowds outside with a dance party going on, but inside it was quiet and gorgeous with intricate carvings and colors all around. Definitely worth a step inside!

This is a must-see church! Absolutely breathtaking sculptures, windows, colors, and detail everywhere. This church is an excellent example of the baroque style of architecture.

A true masterpiece in the heart of Palermo. The church is filled with breathtaking marble work and incredible art in every corner. With a ticket, you can enjoy a small guided tour near the altar and visit a 2 floor museum. The museum is small but the church is really worthy. A wonderful and enriching experience that’s well worth the visit.

Very impressive More than 2000 sculptors have modeled more than 100 figures. In the 1950s, the ceiling, which was destroyed during the war, was renovated. Based on black and white photos, the painter has released the colors. Note Snoop Dig as Jesus in the big window at the end 🤪

Chiesa del Gesù is a national monument of Italy. If it was placed in Rome we would all know about it. As a natural consequence of this it is one of the most important churches from the Baroque in Sicily. Built by the jesuits and their architect Tristano. The shape is that of a Latin cross. Richly decorated with polychrome marbles, stucco and frescoes. The marble reliefs with their figural and ornamental motifs on the pillars and the marble mosaics are unique. The impression on you visiting this church is a mighty thing. And the contrast to the surrounding streets and piazzas kind of hard to cope with. If only you could think of visiting one church in Palermo, beside the Doumo, this is the one.
