We visited Chiesa di San Giorgio early in the morning around 7:30 am after arriving from our cruise ship, and it was such a peaceful experience. With hardly anyone around, we could fully take in the charm and history of this beautiful chapel. It’s a short uphill walk—about 10 minutes from the harbor—but well worth it. Learning about its past and connection to Saint George was fascinating, and the panoramic view overlooking Portofino and the Ligurian Sea was absolutely breathtaking. A must-visit for both history lovers and anyone who appreciates a stunning viewpoint.

The views from the top are amazing. The walking is uphill but so easy. It was very hot in june better put sunscreen and hat. The views are rewarding. Also there are many souvenirs shops near it. Highly recommended

Very little church and completely closed for tourists (probably only Sunday masses and that’s it). Why? Why not to open it up for all those tourists? I really don’t get it. Way most interesting was the cemetery behind the building.

Beautiful viewpoint in Portofino! Chiesa di San Giorgio is definitely worth the walk uphill. It takes a bit of effort to get there, but the views are amazing—you can see the town on one side and the sea with rocky cliffs on the other. A peaceful spot with stunning scenery!

The Chiesa di San Giorgio Church in Portofino, Metropolitan City of Genoa, Italy, is open to the public and visitors to go inside. Entrance is generally free. There might be a fee for special events or exhibitions. To reach the church from Portofino’s harbor requires climbing 185 steps; therefore, check for events beforehand. From its hilltop position, the church provides stunning views across Portofino and the harbor. This church sits halfway up the hill leading to Castello Brown. Inside, you can admire frescoes and religious artifacts, and experience the peaceful atmosphere. The church is typically open from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm daily. Holy Mass is held on Saturdays at 6:00 pm and Sundays at 10:30 am and 6:00 pm.

The Chiesa di San Giorgio (1760) and adjacent Castello San Giorgio occupy a ridge between the sea and Portofino, Italy. A large Catholic cemetery is behind the church which is perched on the edge of rugged cliffs.

Chiesa di San Giorgio ⛪️ in Portofino is a beautiful church, painted in yellow, sitting on a hill. You can reach it by taking a set of stairs🚶🏻‍➡️, and the climb is definitely worth it. The church has lovely architecture, and from the top, you get amazing views of Portofino and the bay 🛥️ . It's a peaceful spot with both great scenery and a sense of history—a must-visit when you're in Portofino!🏞️🌅
