Chiesa Madre di Santo Stefano

A beautiful and discreet church so tightly squeezed between buildings that many people simply miss it. Which is actually great—it tends to stay peaceful inside. Built in the 17th century in Baroque style, it once served as the island’s cathedral and is now Capri’s main parish church. Inside, you’ll even find the tomb of the last king of Naples, who lived out his exile here.

A church resembling the one in Anacapri, with the pipe organs again behind the altar instead of some grand painting. Overall nicely kept and even though it's located next to the main square and the tram to the harbour there weren't many people inside.

Beautiful, solemn, very conducive to prayer. This church is without the gilt and frescoes of other churches but is beautiful in its clean lines and simplicity. Not too big but still having a left and right wing apart from the central aisle leading to the main altar. The main entrance leads to Piazza Umberto and is right across the Municipio (town hall)

A simple and quiet cathedral which carries the Italian charm despite not having the advanced architecture found in other cathedrals around the country. It has free entrance next to the piazetta and has a calming effect all around.

We suggest you to watch the floor that is from the private studio of the Emperor Augustis, here in Villa Jovis The gold seat is from the Certosa di San Giacomo, other interesting place to visit , few meters from the main Church

Una pequeña iglesia en el centro del casco histórico de Capri, muy italiana y con una de las puertas interiores más lindas que he visto, en mi humilde opinión. Pasen a visitarla. Recomendable.

La chiesetta nasconde un tesoro per chi ama la storia romana dell’isola: il pavimento dell’altare e della navata sinistra erano parte della pavimentazione originale di Villa Jovis.
