Chihiro Art Museum Azumino

The place is well developed. There are separate viewing rooms. There are outside areas for relaxation. A place catering for children as well. There is a large garden around the building with art displays. Ample parking with public facilities. Entrance fee as seen in submitted photo.

Beautiful artworks and super child friendly environment. Defenitely a must go if you are a fan of Tottochan. Impressive.

It's not just the museum. It's the whole town that has a good relaxing vibe. The exhibitions are nice and precise. The restaurant has a nice view and good foods. The museum shop has a variety of interesting souvenirs. The surrounding area of the museum is phoenomenon, mountains, stream, lavander field, rice field, etc. It's a good decision to come here instead of the Tokyo location. The Totochan square Chihiro park is also nice for book fans. You can't take photos inside the exhibition halls but outside and in the hallway it's fine.

never thought about visiting this kind of museum until i had a son. and then i ended up spending 3 hours here with bare minimum japanese. the atmosphere. the architecture. very worth coming here

A wonderful tribute to an illustrator that anyone growing up in Japan will be familiar with. The museum not only features originals (and carefully produced conservatory grade reproductions of those too delicate to display) but also a huge library of Japanese language children’s picture books that visitors can browse and read at their leisure. Newly added is a full scale reproduction of the train car classroom and library where you can sit and read children’s books. Our kids (aged 9 and 12 and with a decent grip of Japanese) loved this place, reading books for hours.

A very beautiful place and the museum was very interesting and welcoming! Wish they had a little bit more explanation in English as almost all information of the works were in Japanese only.

Wonderful museum showcasing the works of children's books illustrator, Chihiro Iwasaki. Not only the art collection is impressive, but also the building itself is very interesting. There is also an English language digital guide, you can listen to the information about Chihiro and her works on your phone.

Very very nice place. I actually stayed here about 4 hours. I had food and drink, read books, sit on comfortable chairs, walked in the garden.Chihiro's only son established here.He has very good ideas.
