I was in the area late Saturday afternoon and was looking for a hot bowl of ramen to counteract the grey, rainy day. Having tested a few ramen places along the block, I had an idea of where to go, but unfortunately there was a line out the door and around the block of my two favorite restaurants on this street (and my partner was not enthused about waiting in the rain).
Two options remained: one Japanese place with no clientele, and this Korean place with no line, which was starting to fill up. We were greeted warmly, and ushered to a table squeezed between two other couples, though there were lots of other empty tables where we wouldn't have been in close quarters.
The food arrived quickly: I chose a pork ramen noodle dish and my partner a bibimbap, both of which were overly salted and not incredibly fresh. By the end of the meal we both felt heavy but not satiated. I wished it were better, for the sake of the kind staff, but sadly I can't recommend Chikoja.
