Chilangos Mexican Restaurant

We were there with family on spur of the moment. Service was great right from the start. Food was authentic Mexican with a bit of country.

Went back for a second and third time. The waiter was VERY pleasant and the food seemed much better. The chimichangas were excellent. Portion size was great. The frozen margaritas were excellent too.

Not my favorite Mexican restaurant… we tried it once and just was not very good. I’ll just drive to Murfreesboro. I prefer La Siesta off Church. It looks like a hole in the wall, but hands down best Mexican food in the boro!

Ive always loved mexican food snd this place does not disappoint... There emolpyees are always friendly and know the foods and menu by heart .... I have been ordering the grilled chicken plate with extra cheese sauce ..its so good... But i usually order this big platter called Fagjita Jualisco snd it gas everything except the kitchen sink... and this is so so good but so big that you will be taking skme home with you... And now for the Happy Brthdays which they make it so fun there .. the staff vome iut with this gigantic sombrero hat and no matter who it is even the very little ones threy have you wear it while singing happy birthday to you and yes then the staff and/ or whoever is with you....dont worry bc here comes picture time but inly after they are preparing you with a little biir of dessert on your face that is pyobably fried ice cream which is ok by me bc that dessert is so friggen good ... You coujd ve so full but let me tell you from experience you are hoing yo est dome anyways lol

Service was kind and attentive and the food was quite good! I got the Enchiladas Rancheras and the pork on top was so tender and flavorful with the onions and peppers. Good salsa (yes some places manages to mess up chips and salsa) and the atmosphere has a great feel. Horchata was on point and they had other Agua fresca options as well

I like it. I live somewhere between Woodbury and Murfreesboro there are days I'm just too dad burn tired to feed myself. I think they have a good variety on the Americanised Mexican food as you come to expect - and I think it's as good as any. I have never had slow or bad service there. Prices are fine as well. They have been there so long that I suspect many in the area have tried everything. So if you find yourself rolling through Woodbury and need to grab a bite, do give them a try. Maybe it's not your cuppa but - you'll never know if you don't go!

The staff was friendly and the food seemed okay, but I was sick all night after eating there. My dinner companions were fine. Sorry I cannot recommend

The queso here is very good. I ordered the mini chimichangas and they were all good except the ground beef, the shrimp was a little overcooked. Only 2 tables were occupied but we still had empty cups occasionally, so service could have been a little better but overall decent experience.

Chilangos Mexican Restaurant is one of those solid places where I know what I'm getting and I have enjoyed what I've gotten every time. As a casual dining experience in Woodbury, it tends to be our go-to spot every time we are in the area. This most recent visit I ordered the shrimp rellena quesadilla and my boyfriend got the fajitas. I really liked the flavors of the quesadilla and it was the perfect thing to order on a smaller appetite. Some other dishes are way too much food but this was just the right size. My boyfriend's sizzling skillet of fajitas on the other hand were a mountain of meat and vegetables with a side plate of beans, rice and sour cream and guacamole. He had to get a box for his and he can usually eat a good portion! Although we have good experiences here it is not quite a 5 star place since the service has been a bit spotty before. We've had to wait a while to be served or for a server to come over and notice us.

Stopped in Woodbury today for a quick lunch at El Chilango's Mexican Restaurant. I've eaten here a few times and it's pretty good! Yes, I got the old faithful Cocktel de Camarones . I just couldn't resist! It's always a pleaser and not too heavy when you've gotta get back out on the road and see patients (work). Every time I've eaten here the chips and salsa have always been good, the service is good, and the price is right. Today however, I ordered to go. I'll be back again soon, I'm sure!

I have eaten here a couple of times. Both times I ordered the Nachos Supreme. When I'm out of town, that's usually my order because who can mess up Nachos?? The presentation of the food was awful. The chicken was a big hunk of dried out breast meat, not even sorta shredded. If there was any ground beef, I didn't see it. Of course there were nacho chips with a smattering of beans and cheese that looked like it was made hours before with a sloppy dollop of sour cream. In a word, it was ugly. The taste... the whole dish had a taste of chicken soup. Absolutely no individual flavors to blend together at all. Just terrible. I will never dine here again. The only tasteful part of my meal was my Coca Cola. You won't believe any of this until you try it for yourself. Good luck with that.

This is your average small town Mexican restaurant, with some interesting menu options. After tasting the chips and queso, I decided to try the shrimp and chorizo nachos with fajita vegetables on top. The nachos were great, and somehow stayed crisp despite the meaty cheese. The only reason for 4 stars is the service, my waitress disappeared after I got my food and I never got any drink refills. Overall I really enjoyed the food but the staff could try a little harder.

We had dinner here. Food is good, although if you want spice you may want to say you want it or add the hot sauce that's at the table. Waitress was nice. Chips ok. Only had one problem really and that was the credit card machine was on the kink and took us longer to get out of there than to eat and all. But other than that. It's like any other Mexican restaurant, nothing fancy or anything.

Chilangos is good food at a good price with great service. We never have to wait long for a great meal.

The food was very disappointing. The only difference between their burrito and enchilada is the tortilla and yet they were both tasteless. Service was fast and friendly though...

"South of the Border...well DeKalb County line..." When it comes to dining out - Woodbury, TN is not the mecca of choices. One Chinese, a couple of mom and pops, Hardees, Subway and Chilango's...and Dairy Queen. Stopped here one night before a play at The Art's Center - our daughter was one of the stars - for a meal before the show. We usually partake of fajitas at least once a week anyway so why not? Serving size is very generous - almost twice what you receive at home in Smyrna or in nearby Murfreesboro. My wife and I always share a single order regardless. This was more than adequate to please us both. The only drawback is if you like a margarita with your meal it would have to be a virgin as this is a dry county - beer only. Flavor was good, portion was great and the atmosphere was fine. Fast service as this is a small town so the Friday dinner crowd was not an issue. Prices are in line with what one would usually pay.

This is one of the better places to eat nearby. The food always comes out promptly after ordering. We have never had more then a 15 minutes wait. My burrito I ordered last time was smaller then I expected. I ordered the enchiladas suprema and it was alright but not very flavorful. The staff is always sweet.

Visiting from Texas & our family took is out to this spot. Mighty delicious great ambience, good portions & delicious. We had the fajitas & parilladas & fresh guacamole. All so good, we didn't make it to dessert.

Absolutely disgusting. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Gross, unsanitary atmosphere. I needed alcohol to deal and they don't even serve that. I left before I even ordered.

Very very decent spot. The food was good, the service was quick and the prices are very reasonable. The only complaint I have is the restroom is kind of gross and weirdly laid out. Also, the menu is rather large. Much larger than a typical Tex-Mex restaurant--there is definitely something for everyone. The beer selection was good in the prices were fair. I would recommend eating here if you're in the area.

Not my favorite Mexican place to eat, but it's good. Cheese dip is good and enchiladas are great. Staff could be better. The waiter we had the other night was great. Easily the best waiter we have ever had at this location.

This is my favorite restaurant in Woodbury. Great service, great prices. They serve you chips and salsa while you wait for your food. Have had many wonderful dining experiences here, especially for special occasions. My favorite foods here? I like the shrimp taco salad, or the steak/chicken combo taco salad, or what they call the cancun dinner.

Ok , that's it just ok. I ordered the Nacho con Fajitas. I was disappointed that the cheese was on the bottom and not covering the nachos. It was hard to eat and not at all cheesy like they described.

Best Mexican Restaurant around. The food is always fresh and tastes amazing. My family comes here once a week and it never disappoints.

Great choice of Mexican food here. Servers were friendly. We were served warm chips with tomato-based salsa that we like. Hubby had Carnitas which was a big portion and delicious. My Camarones del mojo de ajo was good too! Will have to come back again on our next visit.

First time we ate here, I would give it 5 stars. Everything was good & excellent service. We had the spicy shrimp & a shrimp chimichanga. Both excellent!! Went back for a second time (Sat. 10/10/15). Dinging one star because our waiter was more interested in visiting a friend than giving us service. He didn't seem like he wanted to even be there that day. Also, the guacamole was terrible! We ordered it & took one bite: yuck! Creamy guacamole??? I expected freshly made. We ordered the Texas fajitas for two & it was enough for 4!! Very good & tasty!! Brought home the leftovers & had dinner the next night with my homemade guacamole!!

I'll give this place 2 stars, plus 1 for me being starving. I'm just passing through town. But, out of all the places I saw, this looked the best from the outside. The inside was clean, but cluttered. The food... ehh. I have had wayyyyy better, mexican. It was fairly bland, and looked cookie cutter. The staff was quick and courteous. I would eat here again if it was the only option.

Fast, friendly service. Great food, prices, and portions. Clean and well decorated. It's worth the stop.

AWESOME food just passing through after OK CORRAL gun permit class and shooting range Woodbury Tennessee which was also excellent would highly recommend both priced right friendly staff at both places

Stopped by for lunch last week. the food was cold, and tasteless. service was terrible food was WAY overpriced, was so sorry we wasted our time and money. for great Mexican food, the Mexican food place on the square in watertown can't be beat, they have great food, great service and good prices. so, I recommend if you want Mexican food, make the drive to watertown, its worth both time and effort
