Chilaquiles

I have no idea how this restaurant has a 4.6-star rating. My experience at Chilaquiles was incredibly disappointing. The food had zero flavor and everything was cold. They couldn’t even get the nachos right—how can you mess up nachos? The service was just as bad. The entire kitchen staff, waitress, and all other staff went on a dinner break while we were eating. We tried to get their attention for service, but they ignored us and continued having their food. The restaurant should have set times for each worker to go on their breaks. They shouldn’t all be taking a break at the same time. Every single thing we ordered was tasteless and lacked any flavor. I can’t begin to understand how this restaurant is considered authentic Mexican cuisine. I was honestly so upset that I had to spend my money on food that I didn’t enjoy or eat at all. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

We randomly stopped here for supper during a bike ride-Delicious, our new favourite spot for tacos. The chips and guacamole were generous and tasty. The tacos were great, in particular the pork. Pork was excellent. My partner had a burrito with the pork, loved it. Remember to ask for a few hot sauce options. We’ll be back.

Great authentic Mexican food. We ordered burrito, taco, enchilada and sopa. Everything was flavourful and portion size was decent. They just moved into this place so the ambiance is not that great but plenty of seating and ample parking in the back.

Great service and great food! I finally put aside a time to come visit Chilaquiles for a nice sit down meal. I ordered drinks and tacos and was pleased with the amazing service and tasty food. I highly recommend their beef tacos and any of their drinks. I'm a huge mezcal fan and I'm glad they had a good variety. Oh their spices! Beware of the really hot salsa... It bites! I look forward to going back!

BEST Mexican food in Ottawa, hands down ! My dad and I dined in last night. My veggie tacos were so tasty! Service was also amazing. Really glad there’s a bigger inside space to eat now, however, it was quite loud in there because there was a lot of people and kids so it was hard to hear server, etc. Highly recommend this place ! Will always come back. ❤️

We went there for dinner on a Monday. It's a great little place that's super cozy. The service was excellent, and the food was even better! We've been looking for a good place for Mexican food, and we're so happy to have found Chilaquiles! We ordered chips and guac, tacos and quesadillas and they were all fantastic. The carnitas were amazing, the chicken was flavorful. The margaritas were fantastic! We will be going there again!

Food is so so tasty you must try! Portions are not too big. I had the Enchiladas de mole and my friend got the Chilaquiles. We shared (4 people) the chips (nachos) with guacamole and cheese and the tortillas (chips) are 2 color freshly made light and crunchy, just perfect.

New version : Since the pandemic started, I decided to give a new opportunity to this place. I had the chance to get take out from this place , food has change a lot , it was amazing . Very authentic Mexican food, however I never got the tacos dorados again . I have tried other dishes and they were delicious and worth the price. The tostadas were amazing, the sopa de tortilla, quesadillas and tacos a very good . However once restaurants opened we went to their mini patio , food was still good but the customer service was non-existent. Mostly because of covid you expect at least a clean table , but that definitely not what we got . Our table was not clean at all, we asked to get it cleaned and our waitress just tried to clean the crust and the stickiness with her hands and nails and then left awkwardly until she arrived with the food and acted like nothing happened. By this point We were over it but really not impressed on how dirty it was and no one really cared . Definitely recommend tho, the food is great, and their patio just recently opened it so maybe they were understaffed . This was just my experience but doesn’t removed how awesome their food is . Old version : I really love the food at this place, is amazing . The staff is very sweet and kind . Place is very clean . Sadly I find the price does not justify the amount of food of what you get . Guac and chips is around 10$ , thats a bit too much ...we got tacos dorados that is more like an entrance and it’s about 16$ for this plate and the tacos are on too of a bed pf lettuce. We were two people and bill came up around 40$ +tip we did not got any drink just water...If you are gonna pay this price might as well go to the restaurants around the area, they are as expensive with more food on your plate . Very sad to see how expensive this place is ... I really like it but not in my budget to go back often .
