Chilcabamba Lodge

This is a beautiful lodge with beautifully cozy rooms and shared spaces. The staff felt like family, so friendly and willing to do whatever it takes to make you feel welcome and at home. Each meal felt like a family gathering. The excursions were breathtaking, especially the horseback riding through Cotopaxi National Park. If you are on the fence, just go ahead and book. You will not regret it. This was a perfect ending to our busy and adventurous exploration of Ecuadore.

My husband and I enjoyed a four night stay at this beautiful lodge while driving through Ecuador. Rooms are comfortable, warm and spacious - the property has wonderful views of the mountain and we really enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner in the cosy restaurant. There is also a lovely comfortable lounge area from which to enjoy a drink and mountain views. The staff are super friendly and will help you with tours and information. It's also very close to the national park entrance. We felt it was great value for money, particularly as this is a remote location.

Beautiful lodge in Cotopaxi and amazing views of the volcano. Area is quiet and the rooms are so cozy and comfortable. There's a nice large fire pit for smores and late evening chats. The whole property is serene.

Absolutely enjoyed our stay at Chilcabamba. The lodge and the surrounding property are well kept and you couldn't ask for a better view of Cotopaxi. The staff was amazing, we were treated so well by Jose, Karen, and Eduardo.

We only stayed one night, but wish we planned for longer! The whole property is tucked away guiding your eyes to take in a great view of the Cotopaxi Volcano. The rooms were rustic with a great small fire to add warmth to cold nights. They really seem to care about keeping the traditions and culture alive by having the rooms built and decorated as the houses used to be around the area. ||Also I cant speak highly enough about the service. Upon check-in we were greeted with a hot cup of delicious tea before they showed us the facility and finally to our room. I personally had been having some back pain from earlier in the tour, and they were able to help me find some ibuprofeno before we went on our Cotopaxi hike. ||We booked the Full Day Cotopaxi Tour and it was incredible hearing about the history of the volcano and the area around it. Our guides (one spanish speaking and one english speaking) also showed us some Andean Wolves, many birds (the Giant Hummingbird and the Caracara amongst others). They helped us get up to the refugio and even guided us up to the glacier before the altitude made us turn back. ||The entire stay was incredible, highly recommended!

Great experience and stay at Chilcabamba with a stunning view at the Cotopaxi! The restaurant and the dishes for lunch were incredible and outstanding - Eduardo, the chef of the kitchen, is doing a very good job! Later on we had a little cooking class with him an Joana, which was great as well, we were taught to do empanadas, salsa and canelazo. Thank you for having us!

Beautiful cozy property with isolated serenity. Amazing stargazing at night and fun walking trails on the property. The views of Vulcan Cotapaxi where stunning, and we loved our family suite with wood burning fireplace. Humble and highly responsive staff made our stay even more welcoming, while exciting adventures all booked directly through Chilcabamba were well worth it and a great value. Perfect for romantic getaway or family adventure - highly recommend!!

I am so happy I booked for three nights and not just two. This was a great escape from the bustling city of Quito and I found plenty to do while in the area in addition to the day trek on Cotopaxi.
