It's always a good time at the Children's Museum. It's a good way to spend a day out with your kids. There are lots of different exhibits and the staff is always helpful and friendly. As always, the dinosaur attractions are a huge hit with everyone. I noticed there have been a few changes, making the museum seem as if they are in a transition period. Some exhibits have been moved or taken away entirely. And the newer exhibits are just OK. However, there are still plenty of traditional and popular exhibits in existence to enjoy, so there is still lots to see and do. We love the interactive exhibits the most, and this time around, my kids took part in the canopy activity. Because it's currently vacation period for the kids, there are a lot of extra activities available for kids of all ages. All in all, like I said, it's a fun way to spend the day. Be warned about the parking situation though. It is expensive! And in my opinion, a total rip off.

We could have spent the whole day! We didn’t have a lot of time, as we decided to stop in before a San Jose city tour. There is so much for kids to see and do here. My 8 year old loved it and gets so excited when she’s telling people about all the things there are to do. Give yourself half a day to spend here. We went on a Wednesday morning, it wasn’t busy at all. There were a couple of school field trips there but it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Most of the learning exhibits in the different rooms are in strictly Spanish, but if you use google translate it’s easy to understand the different sign. There are staff in each room to help with the different exhibits, they also speak English to help the non Spanish speakers.

A fabulous place to visit for kids and adults alike! As an adult, visiting brings out your inner child 🙂 it’s a huge museum and you could spend at least half a day there. It’s a wide range of interactive exhibits and hands-on learning through play.

GET THE MAP! it’s only 300 but they said it was just in Spanish so I didn’t want to waste the paper. The place is HUGE so you really do need it, or you’ll miss out on some things. A wonderfully interactive museum of everything for children, it’s also fun for adults. I clearly didn’t read things properly and thought it was a museum about childhood in Costa Rica, but I still loved every minute. The staff are AMAZING! They’re proactive and keen to show you around. I don’t speak Spanish and they still tried, at one point they went and found a couple of staff who are confident with their English to take me around the tilting house. They were so kind and enthusiastic, I wish I’d got their names. Some of the older exhibits have English translations, unfortunately they’ve disappeared from the newer ones, it’s a shame that they’re taking that away as it makes it more accessible. It is so affordable and you can spend an entire day there!

Super fun place to go! Our kids had so much fun, it’s a good way to spend a couple of hours! It’s definitely in a very unsafe looking area, but over all the museum is great! Good price, lots of interactive things to do inside, and the staff are very friendly!

I visited with my 2.5-year-old and we both loved it! There’s so much to do — we started with the dinosaur exhibit, then explored different rooms with playgrounds, history displays, and books. Upstairs, there’s a fantastic pretend play area with a police and fire station that kids will love. There’s also a beautiful gallery area for adults and a park outside to enjoy. You can easily spend the whole day here, and admission is just $6 — such great value for a fun and educational experience!

For $1000 local currency it's great value for entry. Parking is gated and secure for $1000 an hour. Very affordable price. Inside is huge space of Costa Rica people, science, open play space. It's very hands on and interactive open space kids can play and learned. I recommend it for any parents with kids to explore a few hours.

I was impressed with the low cost ($5-6 per person) and the variety of rooms they had inside. Some of the exhibits and stations did not work, but the kids still had a fun time zooming around the different rooms. We spent 2-3 hours in there and saw everything. I would tell any family with kids visiting San Jose that they should check it out.
