We had an excellent guided day hike. A lesser visited reserve in the area, with an interesting history, and many sights to discover. We had some rare bird sightings and more. Our guide, Adam, was extremely knowledgeable with a keen eye for spotting birds, and setting up the scope for a closer look. He also took us for a view of the valley (a steep out and back part of the trail that is totally worth the detour if you’re up for it.) Don’t miss this one!!

A beautiful park with trails of varying difficulty. We hiked out to the waterfall and thought it was worth it. Trails were very well marked with maps posted along the way. We saw a lot of leaf cutter ants and tiny frogs by the lake but not much other wildlife. We were there in the afternoon. Words of caution: bring socks to borrow the tall rubber boots available for free to prevent ant bites and the drive is not for the faint of heart. It was steep uphill and downhill, low and 4x4 came in handy. Really glad we made the drive from Chachagua.

We did a night tour and had the most fun! We walked a good amount and got to see tarantulas, birds, insects, snakes, frogs and even more. Definitely worth the money & of course the money goes to an amazing cause.

The most beautiful national park I saw in Costa Rica. It's very pristine and original with countless beautiful plants and animals to see. It is fortunately also hardly visited by people, which I really enjoyed as you were even better able to look for birds and other animals. We started at he Pocosol station, which was a bit tricky to reach due to the road conditions but it was definitely worth it. You will be able to see a very huge waterfall, places of volcanic activity, a beautiful lake and much more.

It’s a lovely walk. We didn’t see a lot of wildlife except at the entrance where we met a beautiful motmot who had decided the handicap sign was his perch. He was there on the way in and out. Enjoyed the trails and very happy to support the cause.

We went to the Children’s Eternal Rainforest as we’d left it too late to go to the national park and I have to say, we felt lucky it worked out that way! It was so quiet and peaceful with beautiful paths and a great lookout point. Well worth doing the Jaguar trail if you can, as it’s more wild and that is where we saw Cappuchin monkeys and agouti, however, it is more challenging and quite steep up and down. The park closes at 5pm, but we were allowed to stay at the lookout point by reception for sunset. I think it might be one of the best places for sunset in the area!

Great secluded hike deep in the rainforest. The drive to get there is rough and as of 07/2019 Google Maps takes you the wrong way. There should be new yellow signs every couple KM on the road. 4x4 recommended. Waterfall view at the end of the hike is great

El Burrito hike. Mau was our guide. Very good hike and you meet a local farmer who lives on the hillside at the end for fruit and coffee. Great experience.
