The east end children's museum is a nice spot to try with the littles. Now we came here when it was raining an cold, so couldn't play on the outside stuff, but the inside featured some nice play options. While it was smaller then expected, the details inside were very nice. They have a farm stand, fure truck, ship, diner, and library shop, among some other options for the kids to play in. They also have a padded obstacle course the kids can play on. Price isnt too bad and the staff was friendly. Overall a decent spot to try for a few hours with the kids. I'd say recommend age is 1-5 years old.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at CMEE! From the moment we walked in, their eyes lit up with wonder and excitement. There were so many engaging and interactive exhibits that kept them entertained for hours. They really loved the free play area and the pretend ice cream parlor. They had a really cool art room space too. Highly recommend checking it out with your child/ren!

My 2 year old LOVED our time here. While the place is not huge he had a great time exploring both inside and outside

CMEE has something for children of all ages. It is a very welcoming place with various physical, mental and creative activities to keep young minds engaged. Wonderful experience.

This was a really cool little place. My son was here when he was 2 and I brought him back at 4. He had a blast and didn't stop playing the entire time he was there. I want to go back with him again. I'm 33 and I had a good time playing with him. He also loved all the costumes.

Our family has been going to the Children’s Museum since it first opened.. Truly a wonderful addition to the east end community and a great benefit to the children of the area!! They’ve made a lot of improvements over the years and there are many activities and things to explore, especially for the younger kids.. The family membership is reasonably priced, but you can check your local library, as they will often have free day passes that you can check out.. Make sure to check out the arts & crafts room as well as the outdoor activities.. And just a heads up, they tend to get busy during the summer season, but our kids have always enjoyed meeting new friends and playing with the large groups of children!!

I literally drove 90-minutes to come to your facility for my daughter’s 5th birthday - called ahead of time to ensure that you were open, checked your Google (see photo), and website to ensure I had the correct operating hours. Of course, I pulled in and everything is closed at 1:30pm. Unreal. If you’re going to close your facility, change your voicemail and operating hours.

My grandkids had a great time. Their self esteem flourish ( tackling that big rope slide outside) My autistic granddaughter had a wonderful time at different locations in the museum We could have just walked in with out anyone knowing and not payed for our adventure Since the restrooms are past the desk and u can just mosey by Sooo…. My daughter in law accidentally left our water bottles near the shoe holes ( need to remove your shoe in gym room) and they were taken! ( staff was not surprised) Daughter in law had a lot going on …. No wifi in this area to connect devices for diabetes levels… finger stick had todo She finally connected, me no My grandson is a diabetic ( I’m blessed) we had juice boxes and I had my water bottle in car after we looked for our lost bottles ( yetis) The staff is very nice…. Busy keeping things in order and straighting up the areas ( kids are a mess) We will return. We didn’t get to the other outside areas to enjoy But will be more careful watching our belongings This was a Tuesday morning in August that we visited the museum Bring your sanitizer Peace

Yelp
What a fantastic place for littles! It was super clean (staff were actually in another area cleaning each toy), with many interesting and interactive exhibits! The outdoor play area is just the best! My 4 year old loved this museum! Highly recommend! Staff were also very friendly and kind! Bathrooms were clean! Just a great place!

Yelp
This was a cute facility with quite a few stations and a nice outdoor area. Our 3 1/2 year-old daughter loved it, and it seemed exactly appropriate for her age. However, our six-year-old son only had a couple things that could hold his attention span for long. If you have preschoolers, this is a perfect place to be; if your kids are elementary school and above, it's a bit more limiting.

Yelp
Absolutely love this museum. It was so great for the whole family. Let me start out by saying that the museum is very clean and not only by looking clean but I also spotted a staff member that wipe down each section after it was visited. That staff was very friendly as well. My children are 3 and 10 years old and they absolutely loved it. It was things to explore for all ages. The museum itself reminded of Play a La Mode with the same concept of different little station where your child imagination can just run wild but of course with History and Knowledge of many things. Just to name a few. Light tower, Windmill, and the establishment of the first post office. My children spent most time in the open play area where all ages can play and of course you must take your shoes off. They also enjoyed the Windmill, Library, the Kitchen and fishing in the boat. They also have an outside area where they enjoyed playing in dirt with the excavators and miniature golf. Like I said before there was something for all ages. We truly enjoyed this Children Museum and will definitely return again. Upon exiting I saw many flyers for so many different events and activities they offer and they even host birthday parties

Yelp
There's actually not much of interest, I found, for a 30 month old. And, even though the things in the playground were spread out over a large space, it's very basic: slides and swings.

Yelp
The Children's Museum of the East End is a great imaginative play based museum. There are a lot of dress up stations, books, arts and crafts, and indoor and outdoor play activities. like mini golf. Brought he grandkids and they had an amazing experience.

Yelp
Fun place for the little kids. Age 6 at the max . Very nice staff. Can't beat the price

Yelp
My granddaughter loves this place. Every time she visits we have to go and enjoy! Terrific staff and lovely children she meets there.

Yelp
Had a great time visiting with my daughter, and my friend and her kids. Clean place with lots of great toys to explore. Had inside and outdoor play areas.

Yelp
Visit Date: February 20, 2021 I got a pass from my library and decided to take my son here on an adventure. I've been all about seeing different things lately and whatever travel I can manage even if it's just a short day trip. Because of corona virus you have to make a reservation before coming to the museum which I did. When you come in they do temperature checks and every family gets their own cart of sanitized toys. My son didn't want to play long but he seemed to enjoy the time he spent here. He's almost 5 and I am wondering if he's getting past the children's museum stage or not. I definitely loved it here and recommend coming here with your small child if you can.

Peggy M.

Yelp
So many hands on and interactive exhibits. The totspot is great for the 4 group. The bubble exhibit is great for all age groups. You can go online to see when are the busiest times, especially if you have child who still takes an afternoon nap.

Yelp
Many play areas were closed off or off limits due to 'rona or because of the snow dumped by the recent noreaster. Staff was nice enough but they definitely made it known they took care of the those customers who were museum members vs. those just visiting... Definitely not a place for any kid over 8 years old and although they had all of the right protocols in place for covid, it was pricey for what was made available for the kids to play in. Will visit again once this virus is history but for not, once was enough.

Alexandra A.

Yelp
This place is amazing! I took my 22 month old daughter and we had a blast. It was a nice day out in December so we were able to go outside as well. We recieved free tickets from our library. If you don't get free passes its $19 a person. My daughter was younger compared to the other kids there and to really enjoy the full potential of each part. However, we really did enjoy ourselves. There is a grocery store, a library, a restaurant, a giant light bright station, an air station where they can put balls above air and watch it float, a post office, a fire truck they can go on and a big ship. There was a designated play area for all ages and a baby area. There are outfits to dress up. Really a place for kids to play, use their imagination and BE A KID!
google avatar

Angela E.

Yelp
The place was really cute, they have this section were young babies can lay on mats and play with toys. They also gave a bunch of activities for kids to do. And best part is that the kids can basically touch everything inside the children's museum. They have this fire engine inside where they have firefighter dress up costumes and the fire engine makes noise and the lights on top light up. They have this pirate ship and a place to sit and read, a giant glow Brite, and a few pretend areas like a post office, Farmers market, and general store. They also have a large matted areas for bigger kids can run and play in. So all around, lots of fun. Would recommend that you bring your kids here.
google avatar

Mandi S.

Yelp
Love this place! We reserved passes through our library which covered the admission price. My favorite part of this was the giant light-brite they have. You take a giant peg, place it into the board and it lights up. Super cool! Feeling those reminiscent 80's vibes. They also have a large magnetized board with magnetic blocks that was super fun. Our son (2.5) probably liked the outside play area the best. There are two musical items set up on the lawn which are fun, as well as a mini-golf course and two swing sets. Another hit was the inside play area (socks only) for kids to climb around. I loved the fire engine, and they even have fire fighter hats and uniforms for pretend play! There isn't much in the way of food here, vending machines for drink and snacks and maybe three small tables. We had a light bite and then went into town to get a more filling lunch. I would suggest you bring in your own food (which is allowed) if you wanted to save some money, but we opted to explore the east end since we don't come out this way often. If you have young children, check this place out for sure. And don't forget to check your library's museum pass program to see if they participate with the children's museum. Either way, this is a great organization to support.

Mike S.

Yelp
We took our grandkids, ages 9 and 6 here. We received free passes from our public library. Full admission is $19 per person. I think the ideal ages for maximum enjoyment are between 4 and 7 years. They have various play stages set up, like in a community. A post office, library, soda fountain shop, food truck, and fruit market invited children for interactive play. There was also a ship, fire truck, and various arts and crafts and other interactive activities. There was a play gym area more suited for small children. Outside there is a giant chess set, and a mini golf game. All of these provided lots of enjoyment. The public was admitted in 2 hour sessions, and closed in between for sanitizing. The accommodate private events also. We stayed the entire 2 hours and could have stayed a little longer. This is a very nice way to spend an afternoon.
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
Such a cute place and awesome experience for the kids (ages 1.5 and 2.5). Was a perfect thing tj do when it rained on our trip out East! Kids really enjoyed it-even though some things closed due to Covid.
google avatar

Danielle P.

Yelp
Super cute. Used the free museum pass from my local library. Very clean. My 2 year old and my 6 year old were kept entertained for over 3 hours. Schools were closed and it was a rainy day so we didn't get to Play outside but will definitely come back. Pack Lunch as they only have vending machines. My only complaint was that many adults didn't remove their shoes which should have been enforced because of how wet it was outside. Common sense didn't prevail for many of the grown ups. ‍

Yelp
I love taking my kiddos here!!! They have an amazing playroom and many other pretend play themed areas. I was a member when my kids were younger and the deals were excellent. I'm not sure if they're still doing it, but a while ago on the last day of the year they would have a mini ball drop in the afternoon. They also have some outstanding vending machines near the entrance. My sweet little boy once asked me if he could climb into the vending machine, I said "no you little silly billy." My daughter loves the outside area and the pet bunny that I'm not sure if they still have. Overall a great place for the kids, especially if you're looking for something to do on a rainy day!!!
google avatar

Bianca P.

Yelp
Much smaller space than I was expecting it to be. Didn't feel like there was much to do. Outside they have a mini golf course which was probably the best part about it. The nice thing was that each family gets their own wagon filled with goodies to play with due to taking COVID precautions, but wouldn't go again.

Yelp
As far as children's museums go, this is pretty small. I don't want to be too negative about the museum, because if you have young children, and you are out in this part of the world, CMEE is a delightful place for them to play for a few hours. There just isn't much there there. Everything is beautiful. Clearly, a lot of attention was paid to the design and layout of the place. The exhibits and the interaction they allow is what is lacking. It feels like they could have squeezed more fun into each of the activity zones. They have one main hall, with their permanent exhibits, which focus on local themes, from farmers markets to fisheries. The main hall also has a library that celebrates local authors. They have a hall for traveling exhibits. And tucked in back they have an art room that has a project du jour set up for those so inclined. There are also extra-curricular activities and eventsat the museum that I cannot speak to, but I believe there was a circus camp in progress outside on the grounds of the museum on our visit. The signage from the street is terrible. So if you go, make sure you know where you are going. And have the phone number on hand in case you get lost.
google avatar

James R.

Yelp
Best children's museum I've ever visited. Perfect activity to get our 1 & 3 year olds out the day after Christmas.
google avatar

Jen L.

Yelp
Came out here on a rainy morning together with probably half the people out in the Hamptons. They had great exhibits, well thought out and fun. My kids would have been thrilled even if it was just the climbing playroom. Maybe it was just the weather but it got a little overwhelming in there and I wouldn't recommend it for the real little kids. We didn't play mini golf but it looked like a fun little course out back.

Grace R.

Yelp
Although i expected to be much bigger, my daughters (3 & 8) had a great time ! There is a play room with slide, kitchen room, infant room, sea world room, craft room, library, fire truck etc.. unfortunately mini golf was closed due to the season, will come back to try it out !!!! The staff are very friendly and constantly keeping all the toys clean and organized. Would take my girls again in the future.
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
We stopped by with the rest of the east end on a rainy day in April and our kids were delighted. We have a 7 year old and a 3 year old and there was plenty for both to do - including mini golf. Couldn't recommend more highly.

Yelp
The Children's Museum of the East End was a huge and important addition to Bridgehampton. There was nothing like this anywhere around before and the Hamptons has been full of kids for all of eternity. Finally, when summers were not the only thought, a place showed up directed at children that would be open year-round to enjoy. This kid museum is well designed inside and out and is an amazing rainy day or hot day option. Everything they have here is pretty much hands-on, meaning your kids can touch and mess with everything in sight which makes life a lot easier when you don't have to interrupt every potential play minute with "don't touch that" or "that is not to play with." The focus on fun, coupled with education and mind-exercising exhibits is excellent here. The drawback here is that it is much like a one-trick pony. Once you have been here, you don't really need to come back. Depending on the age of your kids, you can get a few visits in, but as your kids get older they are very used to what initially seemed amazing: the fishing pole game, the fire truck, the art room, the game challenge room, the potato chip maker, the fake ice cream parlor. All of those things listed are fun and extremely well-done, but there is not very much in the way of revolving activities and exhibits here. We come here maybe once or twice a year now and that is enough to keep it fresh. There is a lot of parking and a short walk up to the museum. There is an area to hang your jackets in the winter and the staff is always helpful. The importance of this addition to the child culture of the Hamptons can't be stressed enough, but it would benefit from a little more programming if there were more space to do so.

Reanne A.

Yelp
We enjoyed our visit to the museum and my 2 year old had a wonderful time. There are lots of activities that cover art, nature, science and pretend play. The ship / nautical area and indoor wooden playground was our favorite. Everything is clean and I saw staff maintaining all the different play stations the entire time.!There was a Lego event with regular and giant blocks during our time there. We look forward to our return visit and hope to spend sometime in the outdoor playground when it's warmer.
google avatar

Krystle V.

Yelp
LOVED THIS PLACE!! I brought my 2.5yr old daughter with a few of her cousins ranging from 1-8yrs old and it's is fun for all ages. They really did a great job with the activities and lay out of the place and included a ton of unique things for the kids to enjoy. Well deserving of a 5 star review. Also (probably my favorite part) it's great how they let parents actually parent there and don't leave it up to 15yr old employees to in force 1000 waste of time rules. Pics included
google avatar

Vincent C.

Yelp
The best Children's Museum on Long Island. Indoor activities. Arts, crafts, reading room, indoor play area. Intellectual stimulating. Best for children ages 1-9. Cool outdoor area w playground.
google avatar

Glenn S.

Yelp
Fun the first time. Will never understand why adults get charged to enter these kinds of places. Kids will enjoy for an hour or so. Clean neat.

Jessica Z.

Yelp
Museum is wonderful for children up to maybe age 6, and perfect on a rainy day when you're looking for a fun activity. 2 stars given because of the terribly sad and lonely looking rabbit, Domino, that's left in a small cage all day at the museum's entrance. Not certain why the rabbit is there (and alone), but it certainly deserves better treatment.
google avatar

Anna K.

Yelp
LOVED LOVED LOVED this place. It was clean and new and had a ton of different exhibits. Every kid walking out of this place was crying because they didn't want to leave. Even I had fun exploring the space.
google avatar

Christine P.

Yelp
Great place for kids under 7. It's not a super fancy big place, - don't expect a world class high end museum, but for this area, it had plenty of options for kids to play inside and outside. Mini golf costs an extra $5 so we didn't do that, but the kids had plenty to play with. Good for a rainy day or for a mommy playdate. Snacks are available through a vending machine, but better to bring your own if you can. Kids loved riding the tractors outside, the pretend ice cream shop, the rolling car in the soft gym room.
google avatar

Persimmon H.

Yelp
We've been members here for several years. As others have said, it's a great addition to the east end for families looking for a way to spend a rainy day (or in the winter). My younger daughter (who is six) loves playing in the "ice cream parlor" and in the gym room, and my older daughter now enjoys the mini golf. I only wish they could find a way to have at least one new exhibit or activity each year, as it does make it tough to come here more than four or five times per year. We've also come for some of the events. The "Lego Club" really just involves someone bringing out a box of Legos into the lobby area. Surely there must be more they could do to offer specialized programming, but I'm not complaining (ok, maybe a little). It's a lovely place, and we're grateful for it.
google avatar

Tricia O.

Yelp
Outstanding place to bring toddlers and young children. My twins just turned 4 and it was an absolute blast. There is a padded socks only room with areas to jump, ride little mini roller coasters and climb. Our personal favorite was the pirate ship with pirate and mermaid costumes and let us not forget the life size lite bright wall (brought me back to my 80's childhood and made me smile like a kid). There is a small little soda shop luncheonette where the kids made make believe ice cream and took lunch orders, a library to sit and read to your kids and an art room. Outside we loved the miniature golf course, special kudos to the last hole which resembled a pinball machine, every time the golf ball hit one of the bells it made a chime and this adult was impressed. Recommend a trip for lunch to Sip n Soda in town to round out the day. A plus. For young families, no better way to entertain the whole family. Wish I lived closer. Great day had by all!
google avatar

Diana V.

Yelp
My kids (1.5, almost 3) love this place and with good reason. They can run around, get dressed up (mermaids/pirates/chef, etc), pretend to drive the fire trunk, paint, play in their sand table, sit in the library and read, or take their shoes off and jump around in their bouncy area. Well worth admission and worth coming again and again. The perfect snowy/rainy day activity for the littles.

Anna V.

Yelp
Love going here. Its best for kids 1-5. They have a large play area (no socks), reading area, firetruck, pirate ship, play kitchen, play farmers market, etc. The entrance fee is $10 per person so if you plan on going a few times its worth it to invest in the $100 family membership that will last a year. Its always very clean. It can get pretty crowded on rainy days and weekends. I suggest you go right at opening... its so fun to have the place to yourself. They don't sell food here but they do have a designated eating area so you can bring lunch/snacks/etc.

Sondra M.

Yelp
What a great place to take my kids!!! They had an absolute blast! Extremely reasonable and tons for the kids to do! The place is very clean too- will definitely be back!!

Kathryn E.

Yelp
I brought my almost 2 year old here today. It was a beautiful drive out east (I'm in the middle of the island), and my son really enjoyed a lot of the sections of the museum. As some have noted in their reviews, nothing is over the top crazy electronic here...everything is meant to inspire creative play for your child. It was WONDERFUL. We explored for about an hour and a half and didn't feel like we missed out on much in that time period. I'd definitely venture out here again in another 6 months or a year as there are certain elements I'm sure he can grow to enjoy more as he develops.

Heather J.

Yelp
I love people who can give this kid friendly environment less than a four! Seriously this place is great! The comment that you don't ever have to come back is ludicrous. Definitely focused on ages under 10- over 2... But well done! If you don't like this museum go back to Beverly Hills and build your own museum... A place where kids don't have an iPad for 5 seconds... Can cultivate their imagination?? Bravo... You did a great job. We were here with a three year old.... Rushed through at an hour and a half.... Such a great place... $$$ though... But worth it.
