Come here for excellent local ingredients and a simple but very tasty menu. Be prepared to first make three choices — one appetizer, one main and one dessert — and then to eat a delicious meal. Total cost: $12000 Chilean pesos per person.
We stopped in last minute with a group of 8 and we were lucky they were able to fit us in the small family restaurant. The food was amazing — definitely some of the best we had in all Chile — and filled with local ingredients cooked in fresh ways (e.g. a dessert with slices of a local melon with harina, mussels cooked in a thick sauce that perfectly balanced rich flavor with a touch of spicy heat, a hake soup, and mashed potatoes with mercuen). Our server was super friendly and patient with us as we figured out what wanted, helping us translate the Spanish language menu into something we could all understand (though we did have a couple Spanish speakers in the group, which simplified that part).
