"Chill Art Hostel is located in Essaouira, a weathered blue-tone city. It is a bright backpacker riad offering affordable accommodation."

This was our second stay at this hostel, and it was just as wonderful as the first! The place is very clean, cozy, and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are kind, helpful, and really pay attention to the little details. We had an early bus, and he kindly prepared two coffees for us before we left such a thoughtful gesture! Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be coming back soon!

Loved staying here - everyone was wonderful. You have to be aware that you’re not heading to a European 5 star. It’s a hostel. My friend and I stayed in a twin room and loved it. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in Morocco (pastry, eggs, mint tea, real good coffee). Rooftop has a cool sitting area. Management of the door (access to the building) ensured safety as there was always someone at the door (day and night).

Absolutely obsessed with this place! I stayed here for 4 nights and it really felt like home. It is so social and you will meet so many people, especially at the daily 6pm tea time. Definitely the best place to stay at in essouria. Amazing location as well!

Staff really nice and located in a very central area. Major problem was the constant bad smell that started in the street on the walk to the hostel. The smell remained throughout the whole stay, something to do with the sewage maybe. On top of that, definitely damp issues in my room (Desert room). Damp smell and sheets/pillows had a damp feel off them. Overall staff and location is good but smell and damp really not ideal

The atmosphere was super welcoming and chill, perfect for meeting other travelers. The staff were friendly, helpful and the location was super convenient. Whether you’re looking to socialize or just relax, this place has a great balance.

We didn’t stay at the hostel because of the rude and unwelcoming attitude of a woman named Nadia. From the moment we arrived, the three of us felt ignored and treated with indifference. The price has gone up from $10 to $17 in a few months, yet there have been no improvements in hygiene, comfort, or service. No breakfast, no calm atmosphere—just a bed in a dorm and poor treatment. We had planned to stay, but Nadia’s behavior made it clear we weren’t welcome, so we left. Extremely disappointing.

Hands down the best hostel in Essaouira. You haven’t truly experienced the city unless you stay here. Plus, we met the chillest cat ever.
