Chill Backpackers

When I first arrived in Brisbane, I booked into a different hostel I did plan on staying there for some time, but because the staff there weren’t very welcoming I booked into Chill Backpcker. I planned to be at chill backpacker for a week as well. But because the staff are very welcoming friendly and supportive, I have ended up staying for about 2 months. As I started work early it helps the kitchen is open 24/7 so I am able to prepare food etc when I want to. The kitchen only ever closed for cleaning. Another positive the rooftop area is open 24/7 with views over the city. If you’re looking for somewhere welcoming and friendly I thoroughly recommend staying here.

This place is perfect for backpackers to stay or if you looking for cheap accommodation. I stayed for 6days and i can guarantee that the place is clean. The bathroom is clean,the kitchen is very open and full of kitchenware and utensils that you need. The bed is comfy. And the location is perfect. Everything is a walking distance. And they have a rooftop with a city view. Just worth it. And theres a carpark beside the hostel. I recommend this place. And jade is amazing,very helpful and friendly :)

Well reading all the bad reviews before I came here I was curious about staying here but I have to say it is a really good place to stay, you meet different people from all over the world, the staff are very helpful to make your stay comfortable and relaxing, I have stayed at many backpackers in my time but this place is the best and cheaps place to stay, it is so convenient and close to transport, food, shopping and the city life. If you want something to look forward to I highly recommend to stay here, very chill and there is no cockroachers and the place is clean 3 times a day I rate this place 5 star for everything.

A MEN ENTERED IN TO OUR FEMALE ONLY ROOM AT DWAN! After almost 7 years of travel around the world (North America, Asia, Europe and Oceania), this is the FIRST TIME of something like this happened to me. I felt completely unsafe! By a receptionist mistake, a man came into our room past midnight and stayed to sleep. He is supposed to stay in another room. Another girl couldn't sleep at all as me. And in the morning nobody gives any logical explanation. Just it was a mistake, and they apologize for the inconvenience, that's it. THERE WAS NOT ANY COMPENSATION FOR US! He was moved to a PRIVATE ROOM, but for all the rest of the ladies... NOTHING. We really had a very bad time and we couldn't rest well. I asked for a refund for the last night of my reservation because I wanted to move to another hostel or backpackers. So I moved immediately! I'm completely disappointed in the situation and the manner to handle it. It was like no one cared. Another issue: *No chargers near the beds *No lockers *Female bathroom tiny and the showers getting flooded (The drain was always clogged in almost all showers) *The AC was too cool at night. The AC is for all the building, so you can't control the temperature. *Kitchen ultra small for the quantity of people to stay. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS HOSTEL 👎

Perfect location only 15 mins walk from the main city. The staff were extra friendly but rooms were tiny and the walls are paper thin, so was very loud in even the private rooms. It felt uninviting and cramped but overall was a cheap stay in Brisbane

Awesome hostel in the best area of Brisbane, but the best part for me was the help from the team around a booking issue I had, they were fantastic! It also has the best rooftop out of all the hostels ;)

This is my second time staying hear . It’s perfect for me so I can sleep somewhere, then go out to my concerts .. Great location. And there shops across the road up the stairs various places to eat , cinema. Very happy customer

Amazing hostel, beautiful environment. The place is really quiet, and you can enjoy an amazing view from rooftop. There is a lot of bathroom and the kitchen is pretty big. I recommend. The staff is really nice, especially jeremi, he will help you with everything

Great location with friendly staff and environment. The CBD is a short 20 min walk, across the street are nice shops and restaurants. Everything was easy

This is one of many hostels in Brisbane. Service and prices are average to a little above average maybe. The view on the rooftop next to their irish pub is quiet nice though. Overall a nice place to stay to hang out with fellow backpackers!

Nice and clean hostel, they have a bar right on premisses that does really nice food and entertainment most days during the week. Staff are quite friendly and willing to help, the only bad thing I can really say is that we had to wait for quite a while before we could check in and before our rooms where cleaned. Everything else was bang on.

I used this place a few times, and always found it to be one of the better hostels. It's a 5-10 minute walk away from the main area, Queen Street, but literally a stone's throw from the main train and bus station. The hostel itself is the usual backpackers haven. A communal tv come kitchen area that's always busy, and a large pool with plenty of sunbeds!! The staff, as with most hostels, can be backpackers too, but i've always found them very helpful and friendly.
