The manager/owner Nani Nieto Vinci, shouted at us, threatened us, and forced us out in the middle of our stay simply because we asked for the fan in our room to be fixed. He even said that if we left for breakfast, he would lock us out. At night he locks the doors without informing guests, which felt terrifying and unsafe, especially as a woman. I have traveled to more than 20 countries, and this was by far one of the most abusive and traumatic travel experiences I have ever endured.
The property itself is in very poor condition and nothing like the photos online. The kitchen is not accessible, the terrace is not as advertised, and the rooms are small, claustrophobic, and without windows or balconies. Towels cost $5 each, and the form of payment accepted is Western Union, which felt inconvenient.
Despite paying the full amount at check-in, we were treated with hostility and complete disrespect. The positive reviews appear to be from many years ago, when the property was run as a hostel likely under different management.
Please avoid this property. There are safer, friendlier, and better-managed places available at the same price, and no guest should ever have to feel threatened or locked in against their will.
