Chill House

The manager/owner Nani Nieto Vinci, shouted at us, threatened us, and forced us out in the middle of our stay simply because we asked for the fan in our room to be fixed. He even said that if we left for breakfast, he would lock us out. At night he locks the doors without informing guests, which felt terrifying and unsafe, especially as a woman. I have traveled to more than 20 countries, and this was by far one of the most abusive and traumatic travel experiences I have ever endured. The property itself is in very poor condition and nothing like the photos online. The kitchen is not accessible, the terrace is not as advertised, and the rooms are small, claustrophobic, and without windows or balconies. Towels cost $5 each, and the form of payment accepted is Western Union, which felt inconvenient. Despite paying the full amount at check-in, we were treated with hostility and complete disrespect. The positive reviews appear to be from many years ago, when the property was run as a hostel likely under different management. Please avoid this property. There are safer, friendlier, and better-managed places available at the same price, and no guest should ever have to feel threatened or locked in against their will.

We had a wonderful stay at Chill House! It’s in a fantastic location, just a short walk from Palermo, making it easy to explore the city. Nani, our host, was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. As a guide himself, he provided excellent local recommendations, which made our experience even better. The breakfast each morning was delicious. Thank you, Nani, for your warm hospitality – we’ll definitely be back!

We stayed 4 nights. Very nice location in walking distant of Palermo. Rooms are decent. Comfortable matress but room could be cleanier. Shower is only slightly warm after 5 minutes of turning on and very little water pressure. We also found the service a bit uncomfortable. Seemed like the where doing some unannounced maintenance. One morning we woke up without electricity and one morning we woke up from all the noises in the hallway. We asked for a shuttle from the airport with our 2 bikes. charged us a price of 120 dollars. Quite pricey and a hassle to arrange. We managed to eventually arange a transfer on our way back to the airport.

Absolutely love this place. Recommendations and advice from Estoban (the owner) and staff made our time in Buenos Aires extra special. ||When we first arrived we weren’t sure we would like it. Our room had no windows except in the door and it didn’t look quite as smart as the photographs. Very soon we felt completely at home. Our room was very comfortable both when it was hot and when raining because of the solid construction of the old house so we didn’t need air conditioning. The shared lounge and roof terrace meant that we met and made friends with other guests. ||The historic house decorated with modern pictures and stylish lighting make this a very attractive place to stay. The location is great because it’s quiet but you can access the metro and lots of restaurants and bars very nearby and quite a lot of attractions with a short walk. It’s the friendly atmosphere and welcoming host that make this place our favourite stay so far in South America.

Excellent stay at ChillHouse. The hosts are extremely attentive and helpful. The room was clean, high ceiling, felt roomy. Ask for a room with A/C during the summer months. The neighborhood was nice, , not touristy, big super market close by. Nice terrace on top. Excellent Metro with a station nearby, so easy access to all the attractions in Buenos Aires

We stayed twice at Chill House hostel in Buenos Aires, we came once and just had to come back. Antoine and Esteban are the best kind of owners; relaxed, friendly and incredibly helpful. They made it feel like home. The facilities are perfect : kitchen, breakfast included and a beautiful rooftop. It’s in such a great location and their recommendations were fantastic. We wished we’d stayed longer!

We loved our stay at Chill House; we felt right at home whilst we were here! The location is fine for being able to get around the city, and was quiet at night! Plenty of recommendations from Esteban to help us make the most out of our trip. Hopefully we’ll be back in Buenos Aires soon; and we’ll be definitely be trying to stay here! :-)

Wow! Definitely a great place to stay in BA when you first arrive! The staff was kind and very helpful from check in to check out. Thanks to Esteban and Andrea 🙌 There is a lot of shared areas where you chill and do your things. The place is very clean! The kitchen needs a little bit of love ❤️ but other than that it is A1. We had a private room and slept very well. There is some noise at night (so be aware) but for us, it is part of the city soul. Clean and comfortable rooms, great little breakfast in the morning. We will go back!
