This hostel is right in the centre of Darwin. We had a nice comfortable double room on the ground floor with more than enough floor space for my wife to do her morning yoga exercises very comfortably. The hostel has Coles supermarket, open till late, on one side and an alley with several small, reasonably priced restaurants on the other. These included a South East Asian restaurant (great Chicken laksa ), an Indian restaurant, and a more upmarket Italian restaurant. There were also many bars and restaurants nearby.| The staff were very friendly and happy to offer advice. When we wanted to book two seats on the airport bus, for example, they told us that for two of us it would be cheaper to take a taxi, and they were right. | Upstairs on the first floor was a large kitchen and social area. The kitchen was large with plenty of storage space and a priority placed on hygiene. All food left in cupboards or refrigerators had to be in a bag labelled with the guest’s name, room number and departure date. Cupboards and refrigerators were checked once a week and any food labelled incorrectly or smelling bad was thrown out. Although we didn’t participate in them, there were several social events. One was a Harry Potter team quiz. Sounds like fun.| All in all, a very nice, friendly, well-located hostel. On the down side, because of its location there is a lot of noise from outside until late into the night but, as both of us were very active during the day, we were able to sleep through it.|
