If you’re visiting Hampi and craving a perfect blend of relaxation, good vibes, tasty food, and warm hospitality, Chillout Bamboo Restaurant is the place to be. Tucked right beside the famous Virupaksha Temple and Hampi Bazaar, this cozy spot delivers a peaceful and vibrant experience from morning to night. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the laid-back vibe — bamboo-thatched roof, floor seating with cushions, colorful ethnic umbrellas, Bob Marley art, and ambient lighting that completely transforms into a trippy blue-lit haven at night. It’s not just a café; it’s a vibe. 🍽️ Food: • The food is absolutely worth it! We tried the cheesy grilled sandwiches, French fries, English breakfast (eggs, baked beans, toast), and Indian breakfast — all fresh, filling, and flavorful. • Great variety for both Indian and continental palates, with generous portions. 🧘 Ambience: • Perfect for chilling for hours — play chess, read a book, or just vibe to music in the background. • The interiors turn magical under the night lighting. It becomes a whole new place to relax and hang out with friends. 🤝 Special Thanks: We especially want to thank Malli, Suri, and Mohammad Bhai — three amazing souls who made our visit even more memorable. Their hospitality, kindness, and friendly nature made us feel like family. They’re truly the heart of this place! ⸻ ✅ Final Thoughts: Chillout Bamboo is more than just a restaurant — it’s an experience. Whether you’re looking to grab breakfast, play chess with chai, or wind down under the stars, this spot checks every box. A must-visit if you’re in Hampi!

Situated in the heart of Hampi village, near Hampi bazar, this restaurant is perfect to spend a nice lazy afternoon/evening. You'd often find many foreigners here.... The food and its price goes hand in-hand which is really mid. I tried their watermelon juice on 2 occasions. The first time, the watermelon felt fresh. The second time the watermelon was stale. Apart from that, the laid back atmosphere of the restaurant with the background music adds to the beauty of the restaurant. Do visit this place if you feel lazy!!

This is where you go to get the Hampi vibe. Order a coffee and a snack. Sir back and relax, do nothing. Put your phone on charge and leave it aside. Just take in the vibe - the music, the ambience and the sheer Hampi-ness of the place will take over! Jimi Hendrix and a psychedelic Siva share roof space with a flying mer-creature stealing the moon, watched over by psychedelic trees. Gypsy-cloth umbrellas hang downside-up from the ceiling. Bamboo lamps hang and head level over your table - making sure you align your coffee cup exactly with it before taking that insta shot. All this will make you write a long review like this whole you wait for your coffee - which will take the timeless Hampi time to arrive. By the time it does, you have sunk into the Hampi timescape, you're phone forgotten by the charging point. The first sips of coffee remind you why you love places like this - this is the coffee you wish you mum made for you but she never did! Homestyle food and drink FTW. As I said, this place is pure Hampi vibe with decent food and friendly service. Don't come here for a quick snack or drink.

Probably the most soothing place near Virupaksha temple. I spent 3 good days here just chilling out with the local guys. The genius chef will make your food go tasty😋

The Restaurant's Atmosphere is very nice, gives artistic and hippie vibes. They have both sitting arrangement on chair and on mattress, so you can relax and chill.. We order - Breakfast: Aloo Paratha and Spanish Breakfast Aloo Paratha was fully stuffed and taste was good Spanish Breakfast: It consists, Veg Sandwich, Spanish Omelette. Both were good in taste but Omelette was saltless. Dinner: Normal Thali, Chilly Panner, Egg FriedRice Thali: Chapati, Veg Curry, Dal Fry, Curd, Salad Chapatis were soft, Veg Curry was super delicious and it was cooked in North Indian Style, Dal Fry was okay in taste Chilli Paneer was cripsy and it was in dry for not in gravy style Egg FriedRice was also good in taste with lots of Scrambled Egges Overall, it really a good place to Chill and Eat

The atmosphere, with its vibrant neon lights, is the only positive aspect of this place. Unfortunately, the food quality is disappointing. We ordered chicken biryani, and the chicken was extremely tough and hard to eat. Other items we tried were also below expectations. Overall, it was a very bad experience.

A Truly Disappointing Experience at Chill Out in Bamboo Restaurant, Hampi I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience here was genuinely upsetting. From the moment we arrived, the staff came off as rude and unprofessional. There was a clear lack of basic hospitality, and their behavior felt irregular and even dismissive at times. While a few of the dishes tasted decent, the portion sizes were shockingly small for the price—and to make things worse, the waiting time was unbearably long. When I tried ordering something additional, I was met with a snarky comment from the staff questioning why I hadn’t ordered everything earlier. Honestly, that level of attitude is the last thing you’d expect in a place that’s supposed to offer a relaxing experience. The only saving grace was the ambiance—it did have a nice, laid-back vibe. But sadly, that alone doesn’t make up for the overall poor treatment and frustration we faced. This was, hands down, one of the most disappointing restaurant visits I’ve had in Hampi. I really wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re okay with being treated poorly and overpaying for underwhelming food. Definitely not worth the hype.
