I stopped by on their first day open and they were already buzzing. Their cake menu stands out from many spots in the city, with a real focus on thai flavors you don’t see often.
The bakery is owned by a lovely couple, with the wife as the baker. The space is cozy and welcoming, and I was greeted with the warmest smiles as the husband proudly walking me through his wife’s creations. Always happy to support new, heartfelt spots like this :’)
*Ube Salted Egg Yolk Pork Floss Burnt Cheesecake $12 *
Inspired by their trip to Shanghai, this cake is a reimagination of 肉鬆小貝 (pork floss cake). The first bite hits with a generous layer of pork floss and their mayo-like “secret sauce”, followed by the rich salted egg yolk cheesecake. The ube cake on the bottom is subtle and gently sweet.
*Thai Tea Cake $10 **
An easy crowd favorite. Every bite is full of thai tea flavor, from the silky custard on top to the light sponge cake and the buttercream layers in between. The cake is moist, airy, and not too sweet.
*Butterfly Pea Coconut Jelly Cake $12
This was the most lightly sweetened cake of the three, and I really enjoyed the layers of texture—creamy coconut cream, soft chiffon, chewy coconut meat, jiggly butterfly pea jelly, and a crunchy pie crust at the base.
*Es-Yen Thai Style Coffee $6.5 *
*Bangkok Thai Iced Tea $7
My first time trying Es-Yen coffee (an iced espresso with condensed milk), and it was so rich and aromatic, but surprisingly not too sweet. I will totally get it again. In comparison, the thai iced tea definitely leans sweeter.
