I was searching for a spot to stop on the way home, and came across China Hope. It was like divine intervention that I found them because they have CANTONESE LO MEIN. I have been searching for YEARS since North China on White Bear Ave closed for this kind of lo mein, everyone wants to make those thick gross noodles. These people though? They did it right, they went Cantonese and I love them for it.
Aside from my Cantonese lo mein dreams coming true at last, this place was very clean inside, the young person at the counter was very kind, helpful, attentive and efficient. I ordered online and that was also very easy to do. It said 20 minutes until it was ready which I found surprisingly because most places lately are 40+, but sure enough it was ready in 20!
The food itself was also very tasty. Everything was still hot after my 20 minutes drive home. We have tried so many shrimp fried rices around the cities, and this one contends with our one and only other favorite. I love how they make their cheese wontons into triangles instead of the usual pouch. They were still crispy when I got home, and the filling was perfect and sweet. The sweet and sour chicken was good, the beef and broccoli was good, the orange chicken was amazing- definitely going to be a new staple, and the lo mein. Oh man the lo mein. Thank you, thank you, thank you for having Cantonese lo mein.
This is our new spot. We have been searching for the best place for years, and we finally found it.
Thank you China Hope
