On the Grid : Chinabar

"Small, handsome Chinese restaurant with bar atmosphere. A combination of a wine bar and Asian-Spanish tapas and a wide range of dishes, especially at noon, great Schanigarten in the summer, very good wine selection." - Sebastian Gansrigler

Best authentic chinese chicken liver dish I had in Vienna. Comes with seasonal veggies. Very kind service. Also lots of veggie meals.

A great little place worth the stop. The menu is full of creative takes on traditional Chinese cuisine. So be adventurous and dive in.

We got here at 11PM on a Sunday night, our last night visiting Vienna. Hungry and without any other options, we decided to order a few plates of spicy noodles. They turned out to be some of the best noodles we had anywhere, and the staff was very welcoming and kind. Definitely a hidden gem, everyone should give this place a try, especially on late nights with few options.

Cool restaurant with friendly waiters. The food is a bit pricey and not everything on the menu is a good choice. Consider the food carefully before choosing to order it.

Neither good nor bad. The prices were reasonable and the staff were generally friendly. I ordered the noodles with beef and was disappointed. The beef was extremely over cooked and the broth was dreadful.

Very different from the usual Chinese restaurant! The menu offers some really interesting dishes and they are served in a very beautiful way. The quality of the food is very good and the prices are fair warmly suggested...

Yelp
We went there based on a Vienna Würstelstand (Facebook blogazine) recommendation and we booked through delinski to save 30% on the bill. First impressions were good as the outside seating area is nice and spacious. The menu looked interested and the starter section looked pretty pricey so we skipped it (ice dream factory is a few doors away :D ). Is ordered calamari risotto and Marina (the gf) ordered calamari and homemade noodles. My meal was black with squid ink... I missed that on the menu. Not a problem but I may have ordered differently if I saw that. Taste was pretty good. But as it was so black it kind of ruined the visual side of enjoying the meal. Plus hard to tell how much calamari there was. Marinas food was good but pretty spicy. I think if you order via delinski it is ok price wise. Otherwise, for the quality I wouldn't go there again. Unless I booked through delinski to drink beer in their garden

Yelp
Great Branzino special. Took a while to come out but we then realized everything was made from scratch. Super fresh and delicious. Lots of vegetarian options! My online suggestion would be bring back the Brooklyn IPA.

Yelp
Very small restaurant and I definitely don't recommend going there during the winter. During the summer might not be as bad because they have tables outside. The food is more expensive compared to other restaurants considering the price, food quality and service. I don't find it worth it to eat here. I had dumplings and it took forever to arrive at our table even though there were not that many people there at that time. I waited for about half an hour before asking them if they had forgotten about my order. They replied saying that it would be ready in a moment. I ended up waiting for another half an hour for 6 dumplings that were already cold and the skin was hard. The smoked tofu salad that I ordered was also dissapointing because it was waaay toooo salty :( I am sorry to say that I will not be going back there anymore and I wouldn't recommend here.

Yelp
I've only been to China Bar once, for an Aperol spritzer one afternoon, and it took FOREVER to get that drink. After my friend and I sat down, it was easily 10 minutes before anyone came to the table, then another 20 or so before we got our drinks. (No exaggerating.) They weren't even busy... I'm not sure what was going on, but for a mediocre Aperol spritzer, I can find a table in the shade elsewhere in the Seventh District. Granted, the food smelled and looked amazing, so I do plan to go back at some point and give them a second chance. The outdoor seating is nice, and the signs on their bathrooms are worth a second trip.. Each bathroom, women's and men's, has a picture of a different flower to indicate which room it is. It's a totally quirky, unique way to differentiate (and label) the restrooms, although children might have a hard time "getting it" - parental supervision advised!

Yelp
I only go to China Bar when its nice enough to sit outside. Sitting inside is too smoky and the service is TERRIBLE - I can mind terrible service when I'm at least outside. Food is good, but small portions for the price. It shouldn't take 25 minutes for a beer though.

Yelp
I went here today after hearing mixed reviews. I had hoped it would be good but unfortunately I will never head back here again. I ordered a "Bang" Noodle dish which came with plastic intertwined in my dish. Not just a small piece but a giant piece of melted plastic. Health and safety concerns aside the service was horrible. I was offered no consolation or no amendment to the price even though I did not finish my dish once I discovered this plastic. If you serve me bad food with garage or trash in it and bad service then I will not come back. If you come here, I seriously hope you do not experience what I had to. Its overpriced for the quality and its not like the service or atmosphere makes up for it.
