We visited Chinabar yesterday as a family of six, and overall it was a great experience. I’m a big fan of Chinese cuisine, and when I first saw the name of the restaurant, I immediately wanted to go there. However, after looking at the menu, I was a bit disappointed at first. The name made me expect more traditional Chinese food, but the menu is quite modern and includes a big mix of different cuisines — not only Asian, but also European.
That said, I was still able to find dishes that felt traditional with a few modern touches. I ordered beef cheeks and braised beef with noodles. I specifically asked for the dishes to be spicier, as the menu only says “🌶️ hot,” which usually means quite mild by European standards. I really enjoyed both courses.
For dessert, I chose a very creative and refreshing Baileys–mango lassi dessert, which was excellent. My family members were especially surprised by the banana show — we didn’t expect the banana to be flambéed right in front of us. It was a very nice experience.
Overall, I was very impressed and can definitely recommend this place.
