From the name of the location I wasn’t sure what to expect when visiting. The Centre was full of artifacts and history of Vancouver Chinatown and some of its inhabitants. The artifacts were cool to see.

just went there last saturday as they were doing a special exhibit on chinatown scouting. They spent a lot of time displaying pictures and display boxes showing artifacts from the past few decades. They also are selling different chili oils as condiments. Lots of visitors involved in the tasting. Recommended museum for anyone interested in one of the oldest chinatowns in north america. Came again to look at interactive displays of family and friends

We really enjoyed our visit here. As Australian-born Chinese it was really interesting to see the parallels between Vancouver's Chinese history and that of Sydney (Australia). I related to my adult daughter that I'm so happy that she has been to grown up without the prejudices that her grandparents (and I to a much lesser extent) faced. Having visited this centre and seen/read about the history of the Chinese people here in Canada/Vancouver, I feel Canadians as well as Australians are well on the way to ensuring the world is going to be a better place, although there is still work to do.

I wasn't expecting much to see at this location, but it proved me wrong. There are so many stories from each of the items being exhibited here, and I had a great time visiting

It was fascinating seeing all the exhibits and reading the stories of those who lived in the Chinatown area.

This place is a jewel and it touched my heart. I stumbled upon this exhibit after having delicious dim sum across the street. The exhibit was thoughtfully curated to tell the story of Chinese immigrants and the glory of Chinatown back in the old days. I learned so much today, that Chinatown wasn’t just a rundown messy place with eccentric people and odd customs. I learned that Chinatown was a place of inclusivity and that early Chinese immigrants made very important contributions to both Canada and the USA. Early Chinese immigrants suffered unimaginable hardships building the railroads and endured unfair discrimination after what they did for both countries. All of us need to learn more about this important piece of history and we need places like the Chinatown Storytelling Center. Besides the exquisite photographs and artifacts, I also loved the passionate docent ladies. Many of them are closely connected to the Chinatown community and were enthusiastic in sharing the living history. I highly recommend a visit to this place.

I didn't have a lot of expectations coming here, but I was genuinely surprised by how informative and well presented the center is. It gave me some interesting insights into the Chinese Canadian history. One of the volunteers (didn't catch her name) was very attentive and helpful. A lot of attention to details here. The only thing I'd wish for is more information about the recent history of Chinatown. There's one or two panels, but it doesn't really gives it justice on how the community came to be and what led to where it is today

I had never heard about this place before, I feel that has a lot of history between Canada - Asia! It looks really interesting. I'll back and leave a review. At least I visited the souvenir shop and they had very unique things.

Yelp
The gift shop Foo Hung has pretty cute souvenirs but the woman at the register is pretty mean and unresponsive. If you have any questions about the merch, she'll give you a one word answer with contempt. I love the concept of a Chinese Canadian museum and want to support this initiative but the mean customer service makes me think twice about coming back.

Yelp
The place is alright. Major weakness is having tons of recent Chinese celebs and businessman pics on their display. The place down a block or two is more interesting. Cause I wanted to know more about the past and the head tax. Having Chinese menus,Chinese athletes, businessman was a bit boring.
