I had never heard about this place before, I feel that has a lot of history between Canada - Asia! It looks really interesting. I'll back and leave a review. At least I visited the souvenir shop and they had very unique things.

I didn't have a lot of expectations coming here, but I was genuinely surprised by how informative and well presented the center is. It gave me some interesting insights into the Chinese Canadian history. One of the volunteers (didn't catch her name) was very attentive and helpful. A lot of attention to details here. The only thing I'd wish for is more information about the recent history of Chinatown. There's one or two panels, but it doesn't really gives it justice on how the community came to be and what led to where it is today

We visited here back in 2023 and forgot to leave a review back then but an opportunity came about that reminded me of this place and now I’m leaving a review. If you are not Canadian born Chinese (British born myself) then it gives a huge insight into the history and the massive struggles the Chinese people went through to be recognised into Canadian society and the sacrifices made to become equals. This rich history needs to be preserved for future generations to learn and appreciate their ancestors. Was very much worth going off the beaten tourist tracks to come and visit here.

Love the positive story line, artifacts, volunteers, quality tours, and interactive elements, and how connected it is to todays China town development. Worth to visit again!

I highly recommend a stop at the China Storytelling Centre if you are visiting Vancouver, or live there. It offers fascinating details into Chinese-Canadian history which they certainly did not teach you in schools. It's packed with interesting displays, immigrant stories and some interactive displays. Don't miss the gift shop for some cute gifts/souvenirs.

We really enjoyed our experience here. It was very interesting to learn about the Chinese Canadian experience in BC and the exhibits were all engaging and thoughtfully curated. The postcard photobooth was fun too. We definitely recommend visiting the Chinatown Storytelling Centre!

I am overjoyed to see this space in Chinatown. I always wished something like this existed in the Cultural Centre and now it's here at another section of Pender St! The stories told here built the foundation for the prosperity experienced by all the Chinese people who continue to live in Greater Vancouver and more broadly Canada as a whole. I would recommend it to locals and tourists alike. It's a cozy space (ie you won't get lost) but there's a lot packed into their displays and digital terminals. I did not get a chance to try the augmented reality portions but was extremely satisfied with my visit!

Cool little museum that tells a really interesting part of the west coast's history. Some of it may be familiar if you've visited Chinatown museums in other West Coast cities, but it's always cool to see how the local history of a place has developed. Budget about 1.5-2 hours, especially if you want to check out the oral histories.

Yelp
The gift shop Foo Hung has pretty cute souvenirs but the woman at the register is pretty mean and unresponsive. If you have any questions about the merch, she'll give you a one word answer with contempt. I love the concept of a Chinese Canadian museum and want to support this initiative but the mean customer service makes me think twice about coming back.

Yelp
The place is alright. Major weakness is having tons of recent Chinese celebs and businessman pics on their display. The place down a block or two is more interesting. Cause I wanted to know more about the past and the head tax. Having Chinese menus,Chinese athletes, businessman was a bit boring.
