Very neat and clean place, lots of shops and food options too... A lot of fruits sold on the street, all very tasty! Prices are very reasonable for everything! Overall a great experience... I recommend anyone who visits Singapore to come here at least once... There is also a hawker center close by with lots of Asian cuisine options..

Clean place, lots of shops and food options. Interesting finds. A lot of fruits sold on the street, all very tasty! Prices are very reasonable for everything! Overall a great experience. I recommend anyone who visits Singapore to come here at least once. I liked this better than Little India. There is also a hawker center close by with lots of Asian cuisine options

🧧🧧🧧It use to have super squeezed crowds. However it still vitals to keep this place alive for future generations and we usually will come here with friends or family to just soak into the atmosphere even though now lesser crowds but overall still must come 🧧🎋👏👍

Chinatown is a must visit place especially if you want to have some street foods and buy some things in cheaper price like souvenirs. Key chains, bags and other items are so cheap in this area. You can find a key chains 10 for SGD 10. There are alot of stalls and stores in this area that can you consider a one stop shop. Chocolates and snacks and everything is so affordable here and you will not regret spending every cent. Sadly most stores were about to close when I came here but there are alot of decorations because of the upcoming Chinese New Year that time.

Yelp
A marvelous place to explore around on foot! The buildings are beautiful. The people are kind. The food and drink is everywhere and delicious! The little walk in or walk up booths and shops selling goodies of all kinds are perfect. If you find something you love that doesn't feel one of a kind do mark the price and location in your head and keep strolling around, you may find the same item [especially if it's singapore gift merch] at another booth for a better price! But all in all it's a grand time and I highly suggest it to all! It's especially wonderful in the evening with all the lights twinkling!

Yelp
A great place to explore near downtown Singapore. There are heaps of knick knacks on sale as well as a large number of restaurants worth exploring. A lot of the stalls are quite repetitive in what they are selling and it definitely caters to tourists. I returned for my second visit today so it was nowhere near as magical as the first time. It's in a great location near the downtown area and is close to a few temples also worth checking out.

Yelp
Chinatown in Singapore is a nice and fun place to walk around. Filled with street vendors for various things and food, it is interesting to just look around or watch people. I've been here a few times in the past, I didn't think about this at my first visit here but after traveling a quite more around the world, I realize I feel safe walking around here alone day or night. Of course, standard cation should be used but never felt threatened here. I purchased several things in the past, may not be high quality but I enjoyed the art of negotiations with vendors. Food here may be hit or miss but mostly good. One of the best dish I had was from here, stingray is what I ate. Easy access from Chinatown train station, visit here even just enjoy the vibe of people at your next visit to Singapore

Yelp
Well, imagine my delight when I finally got to Chinatown to discover, low and behold, a huge maze of street markets crammed into a number of narrow alleys. I absolutely love these markets. You can find almost everything here (well, almost - don't expect to find a washing machine, though I wouldn't be surprised if there were a couple lying about somewhere). The best thing about these markets is that many of the stall owner (in fact probably all of them) are more than happy to negotiate a price. This is one of those things that I love about Asia, not only these roadside stalls selling all sorts of nicknacks and whatnots, but the price is never, ever set. Even some of the most stubborn stall owners are willing to come down in price than to let a sale walk away. Mind you, it does get quite crowded in here, so keep an eye on your belongings, but then again it is Singapore.

Yelp
Chinatown in Singapore is a pretty big attraction amongst tourist and few would leave without having a walk through Chinatown Street Market. Lined with tents that house small shops selling souvenirs, it screams tourist attraction all over. Well, can't blame them as there are probably more tourists going through the area than anyone else. There are a couple of food stalls lined up on one side and they tend to be a little pricier than the usual hawker fare. The only time I actually visit the market is during the Chinese New Year period, where I squeeze through throngs of people trying to soak up whatever atmosphere there is. Walking through the street market today, I could not help feeling that it has lost its authentic traditional flavour that makes it an attractive destination. Many stalls have swerved away from selling traditional chinese goods to retailing cheap knock-off fashion apparels and the food stalls there have modernized quite a bit too. While I quite enjoy the german bratwurst stall along sago street and had a nice cake from another patisserie on the same street, it spoils the whole traditional cultural experience that I used to love. Modernisation is quite a shame sometimes.

Yelp
Freshly cook chicken satay ($0.80SD) a skewer with minimum order 10. This is very juicy and very flavoursome. In fact i could drink that sauce as it is not over powering with peanut taste. It has right amount of spices where it is not spicy but definitely i would go back despite being the last customer so no cucumber or side salad. Then again I'm here for the skewers that is the main event.

Yelp
Better deals than Burgis street market (which is nearby), however the stores are very pushy and annoying (especially for a bald white guy)
