Great places to buy souvenir t-shirts or grab a bite. I picked up one each for my daughter and grandchildren. I also. Had a nice conversation with the music shop merchant who had a supply of a couple of hundred vinyl LP’s in mixed genres. It’s worth a look around there.

A quick place to stop for some cheap food or cheap souvenirs; conveniently located in the center of Hanalei. We visited on both a Thursday and a Saturday in June both times in the afternoon both times with light crowds; easy to move in and out of the stores without feeling too tight. Don’t expect anything nice and you won’t be let down. It also includes seating and a JoJo’s Shave Ice.

Cool unpretentious little village of restaurants, shops, desserts, and coffee. We really like it and feel it has a naturally welcoming vibe while being quite functional and thankfully not corporate cookie cutter.

This shopping precinct looks a bit run down but it's still interesting to have a walk around. There are gift shops you can roam through for cute little keepsakes to buy. There are good places to eat too but unfortunately the one we wanted to try was unexpectedly closed.

Good parking. Wonderful vibe. The center has great dining options in a small town, laid back feel. Definitely worth a trip.

I love this shopping center. Good prices, great place to get gifts for family members. Good food, and Hanalei Strings is a excellent place to listen to music and buy instruments

When in Kauai this is where I come to buy my ceramic turtles which I collect from many places i visit.

Yelp
I absolutely love this shopping complex! There are so many cute boutiques and merch shops. We decided to walk through the entire thing first before buying anything cause there are so many cool designs on shirts, stickers, magnets, hats, and posters! We wanted to pick our favorites, but I could literally spend a couple days just wandering through the entire plaza. Go check it out if you need to kill a few hours or are wanting a place to buy souvenirs! It's also right up the road from Hanalei Bay

Yelp
Great eateries like JoJos, the Terrace, and Chicken in a Barrel. This review is to the owner of the complex, please clean and update your bathrooms and buildings. So many tourists come through here and they would love to visit a complex that shows some pride for the beautiful Hanalei area and stunning views. It's truly time for a remodel.

Yelp
After hiking all day, came here to get some food and refreshments. I got poke from the poke place (could not find Yelp page for it) and a smoothie from the food truck in the parking lot. I thought it was all great! Poke was expensive but very fresh and tasty. Smoothie was good too. Just make sure you get here early since some of the stores/food spots starts to close pretty early.

Yelp
I love coming here. Super cute shops and restaurants. Nice vibe. Lots to find and buy here. I love the Backdoor surf shop specifically. Never had a bad experience here. Staff have always been kind to us despite being tourists. We come early and avoid parking issues too, which isn't always doable I know.

Yelp
Came here today. My lucky day as I easily found a parking space. Nothing spectacular here. I browsed in a few of the more interesting shops but did not purchase anything. The line to the womens restroom was alittle long with only two stalls. Tissue all over the place made the place look very unsanitary. I'm glad it had toilet paper and handsoap available.

Yelp
Great Shopping Center, looks a little dated from lot but has great stores and people working there . Must see

Yelp
Full of shops and places to eat this small shopping center is located across the street from the Hanalei Center. Part of the heart of Hanalei come experience the north shore eateries and shopping and take in the views.

Yelp
Small stores and eateries on Makai side of Kuhio Hwy. in Hanalei. Even if you're not buying, it is fun to check these stores. YELP 365 - 320/365

Yelp
My husband and I were excited to see Ching Young Village on our trip up to Hanalei based on reviews. We were very disappointed. Not sure what everyone else saw, maybe they haven't been to the south side of the island where the shopping is MUCH better and the people are friendly. No one was friendly to us here and some were actually rude. No one spoke to us in the stores. We felt awkward and didn't spend much time in Hanalei because of it. Disappointed. Hanalei is a BEAUTIFUL area for driving through... just not the best for shopping.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to go the north side of Kauai after always staying in Poipu. This place was a pit stop to stretch the legs out. N.Y. (reviewer below) is right.. the atmosphere is different and the pace is slower here than if you go to Poipu or some of the other shopping areas if that is your sole purpose. If you just want to grab a soda or a quick bite to eat/go to the bathroom after driving/ taking in the view this is a good place to stop.. sometimes due to construction there are one lane roads which means long waits!!!

Juan M.

Yelp
Great shopping center that has a grocery store and restaurants on site. There's also free hula dancing shows in certain days. Travel guide has a post here and has decent deals.

Karen G.

Yelp
So rude! Some shop worker ran out to parking lot to ask if I know how to drive in America??? Racist and mean! She told me I had sh@& for brains. Do not go to these shops. They do not let me tourists so let them suffer without our money... I was just trying to get a bottle of water for my 80 yr old mother.

Mel G.

Yelp
Didn't really wander fully around, but just stopped here for a bit of a break. Highlight: Joe and I saw 2 chickens with their chicks in the back. That alone warrants 4 stars.

Tony G.

Yelp
Stop by and visit this place. There are many restaurants, a few shops and tons of people to mingle with. There's also a beach nearby. Can't go wrong with a lot of things here. Great scenery nearby and of course, Jojo's Shaved Ice!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
This shopping village has a Big Save Market connected to it, and I ended up finding some Lion Brand Hawaiian coffee there that was on sale and cheaper than at Walmart or Kmart. There are souvenir stores, surf shops, a ukulele store, tattoo parlor, and my husband loves Hanalei Pizza. Their hand thrown pizza recipe changed about 4 years ago - the dough has a "poor man's crust" that contains cornmeal and coconut water and is made daily. Their sauce is also made daily with Shiraz wine and dry herbs, and cures for up to 24 hours. The pizza is not greasy or soggy at all. There's an L& L Barbecue that wasn't there our last trip, and Chicken in a Barrel is there now too. Across the street is Bubba's Burger and Paradise Shave Ice. It's a nice place to leisurely look at the souvenir shops.

Jasmine D.

Yelp
Parking sucks. But the only reason I go here is to eat the "chili pepper chicken". My have every time I visit the north shore, which is rarely once a month.

Ralph R.

Yelp
There are a few good restaurants here, as well as local goods tourists might want to take back home to show they were in Hawaii, but it's not like a destination you plan to go to, unless you live in the area.

Cynthia M.

Yelp
Not a bad place for some quick shopping and a cheaper bite to eat if you want to venture out from your hotel dining options. Close to the Princeville resorts and all types of food options including an L&L Hawaiian BBQ, a Pizza Place, a Shave Ice place and more.

Shawn S.

Yelp
Looks like a mini-Chinatown, but I didn't see any Chinese restaurants. There's not much to eat here. The nearby restaurants don't have good ratings. But the stores have some interesting items.

Emily H.

Yelp
Nothing that great here, the only thing I found interesting was the bakery and the candle shop. Those were cute, but I wish there were more nice shops.

Benoit R.

Yelp
Nice place. Lots of shops and restaurants. A good place to stop for a break in the middle of the day.
