Chipotle Mexican Grill

This is my first time doing a review but today I feel that it’s something that I have to do. Usually I go to this specific store and request deliveries orders using DoorDash and UberEats. Today I asked for a Chicken Bowl; the food, the service and even the atmosphere were good but the store was a completely MESS, it was food on every table and I saw a horrible mouse eating next to me. IT WAS SO DISGUSTING!!! PLEASE, PEOPLE EAT THERE EVERYDAY. KEEP THE STORE CLEAN AND TAKE ACTION AGAINST THE PLAGUES THAT ARE LIVING THERE!!!

Food is good but the place is dirty…employees talk while the whole place needs cleaning

Went here twice in one week both days were not busy no line at all yet they barely had any food on the line had to order chicken because there was no steak my wife wanted the new Chipotle chicken yet there was only regular chicken asked for simple salad dressing was told there was none had to get brown rice because they had no white theres about 10 employees both days around 6pm they dont close until 11pm half the employees just hanging around MANAGEMENT!!!!please explain how there isn't food on the line at 6 in the afternoon 5 Hours left till closing and none being made who ever is managing this place needs to be FIRED!!!! this didnt only occur once but multiple times i live close so i go here alot but this got to a point where its unacceptable that im taking the time to write this review Furthermore, I strongly advise against ordering through Uber Eats from this location. They consistently half-portion everything or just completely mess your order up. Don't waste your money requesting extra portions, as you won't even receive a regular one to begin with. Please Do Better !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the worst chipotle staff I have ever encountered. On multiple occasions I have been ignored and today was physically pushed away in an attempt to remove me from standing next to the staff. I understand the frustration but I was waiting for 30 minutes for a mobile order (a cup) and was told to talk to the register people then they told me to go back to the mobile order line and then I spotted lo and behold my order which I was trying to and calmly explaining to them both. That push was entirely unnecessary and incredibly unprofessional. This chipotle location is the without a doubt the worst one I’ve stepped foot in.

Ordered to go and got absolutely robbed. The portions were bites worth of meat. Stay away.

Weren’t they busy when we came in… out of rice, chicken and barbacoa. Brisket tastes like brick. Soda machine was out of everything except for lemonade. Their fancy lemonade/fresca dispenser was bone dry and filthy. Out of napkins… asked guy at the register for napkins he said “if it’s not there I’m not sure what to tell you”.

I wish that I could give this Chipotle less than one star. AVOID this place at all cost!!!!! It is NOT worth your money. The cashier was so rude. I tried to ask her about the promo that Chipotle sent this morning. She kept saying that it was for the previous day when it stated that the promo was for today only. Her attitude was appalling! I decided to order a chicken burrito bowl through the app because none of the other workers knew anything either. (They told me to ask the cashier 🙄) I asked for peppers added to mine and didn't receive any at all. There was so little chicken in my "chicken" burrito bowl that it would be better to call this a rice bowl instead. My mom ordered the same thing, and she received a couple of peppers and just as little chicken. (Look at the photos to see what an entree looks like. I picked the chicken out of it so that you could see what they thought was okay to serve.) On top of all of that, the tables need to be cleaned in there. If you're craving Chipotle, find another location to visit.

Recently visited here on a work trip at the prudential center. Typically I wouldn't comment on chain locations but due to an incident, I feel like I should mention it here. Located in downtown Newark near the prudential center, this Chipotle location draws lots of different kinds of people. While there, we had some crazy people come through yelling and screaming. The staff was professional and calmed the situation down, making the general dining experience less tense than before. For that, I have to give a nod to this location and their staff.

Pretty good. They were running about a half hour behind on mobile orders when I was there but the employees were working hard. Seems like management needs to hire more people because the staff is overwhelmed. They forgot my chips which i paid extra for. I ordered the quesadillas which tasted great. Overall, pretty standard Chipotle food but staff is clearly overwhelmed and the store was chaos.

Idk why reviews are bad. Staffs were kind and I had no issue ordering what I wanted. The bowl taste so fresh and good. The place is clean as well (including restroom). Maybe because I came early as they open? Only thing is the sketchy street parking but not a big issue. $2/hr

The service from the night shift workers is very poor when it comes to the presentation of the food along with missing items from your order .

AVOID AVOID AVOID.... AT ALL COST! The only GREAT thing about this place was the nice homeless guy that was opening the door for people coming and going in and out of this place. I tipped him nicely as I left. Thank you nice homeless guy! Okay, the place was a pigsty, plan and simple, truly a nasty, stinky place. Service. Nasty. Most employees here do not speak English, so if you're just an average American Lithuanian, like me, you might have trouble ordering your simple bowl of meat and vegetables. Pointing didn't even seem to help at all. Eventually the short young tatted-out manager came up to me with attitude asking what the issue was. She basically told me that maybe I should learn how to speak Spanish. How's that for service here in the good old United States. The food is your typical Chipotle stuff, but the filth and nasty service is good reason to avoid this place. Two thumbs down.

I walked into Chipotle at 8:58pm tonight (Saturday). When it was my time to order the crew member does not greet me he says, "We don't have chicken, beef or vegetables". I left without saying a word feeling sad that this is the state service these days. The restaurant is open for another hour, is everyone going to get that statement as they walk in?

If you're thinking of coming here the time I post this review, think twice. The crew is going to be stingy with their portions. I'd usually go to this place whenever I have the time, but now's not a good time unless you don't mind getting scammed. I paid $20 dollars for a meal that could've lasted me longer if their portions were bigger

I ordered a vegetarian burrito bowl for delivery and they gave me one with meat as the protein. I tried to get it replaced and they wouldn't replace it nor would they refund it!

Recently got food poisoning from here wasn't feeling well for 3 days straight, felt like straight shit. I hope they take more care of the safety in the food.

Would not recommend this location. I ordered a burrito on the app for pickup around 6pm. As I entered this location I noticed that the dining room was pretty dirty, there was trash and food everywhere, including the seats, tables, and floor. After waiting several minutes by the pick-up shelves, I realized that you had to get the attention of a worker in order to get my food. I did so, and my order was given to me. The order was correct. However, after seeing the mess in the lobby, I don't feel as though I will return.

Terrible food! The taste was horrible and the way it was served a complete mess! Save your money!

I placed an order through the mobile app for this location ($70 worth of food) & they didn't even pack everything. How do I place 3 separate order of tacos (9 tacos in total) & 5 tacos are sent? They are so careless.. if it's $70 worth of food..why are you not aware of how much food should be in the order. TRASHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Worst chipotle I've EVER ate at. The beans are always dry and the rice is always hard. I tried the Garlic steak and it was so over cooked it tasted like liver. Guac always taste like mashed avocados, no lime, no cilantro or salt flavors. The chips are never salted...its just a horrible chipotle. I'll rather drive to Bloomfield ave from now on.

if i could give it 0 stars i would. this place is absolute trash. i am a vegetarian, so i order a sofrito bowl. and every single time i order, there are pieces of meat in my bowl. it's absolutely disgusting. i found 6 pieces of meat in my bowl. i have complained over and over again and all they do is send me free meals and the store never answers the phone. i used to love chipotle, but this is ridiculous. last time im buying.

One of the better chipotles I've been to. The staff is friendly and efficient. I tried the plant based chorizo for the first time it was good.

LOCKDOWN REVIEW: Pickup orders can be placed through the chipotle.com website. After you order and get to the location, go inside and walk up to the cash register where online orders will be handed to you. It's been a while since I've ordered from Chipotle in general, let alone this location in Downtown Newark. I discovered Chipotle has a new menu section - Lifestyle Bowls. I like that there are options for people following different dietary plans, such as Keto, Whole30, Paleo, Vegan, and Vegetarian. I've tried the two Keto bowls - there's a steak one and a chicken one - and I like them both. My dude is also a fan of the vegetarian bowl. Nice to have options. Just appreciating the little things and silver linings in these tough times.

I am absolutely disgusted by the new portion sizes at this location. Used to order from them a lot but tonight my bowls were literally half the size of what they used to be. Complete rip off

The customer service was terrible the lady at the counter didn't even wanna help me when I asked questions as to what the items were. The place looks trashed at 5pm no restock on the drinks or cutlery. It was literally 3 people working out of 9 staff that was there. The dining area need to be wiped down trash changes and clear it's literally a hazard. I won't be coming back it's better locations available.

The food is good. Bad service . It's alwayssss dirty too. When you walk in you immediately see food in the floor. I came to apply to work at chipotle and it took them 2 hours to get to me because the manager forgot about me. Seems she didn't care also interview took literally 30 seconds.

I never have a problem when I go to this chipotle. Staff is always friendly and it's very welcoming inside. The good of course is always good never had an issue with their food. I come here often because I live close by to it. If trying for the first time I suggest a chicken bowl with whatever else you decide to add in it. I'm a chipotle lover. I normally get a salad bowl with chicken , white rice, tomatoes, and the hot sauce. also ask for the salad dressing (it's orange) i love putting that dressing on my salads can't have it with out it. As many pictures as i take of my food I could only find this one

so far I been coming to thia location for bout awhile now , and for the pass 3 visits I been coming in and most of the employees are on one side of the place, while theres only one person over the counter that's serving food onky one , while a whole line of people waiting to order , and no body els jump in to help except the asian guy , the management need to pay a very close attention to this point of view , food is great , the only this that is not fear is lazy employees and that should change and build a team a team work , I'm in restaurants industry Please manage address the iss ASAP

3 incorrect to go orders is absolutely ridiculous. I don't understand how incompetent you have to be to not be able to follow directions on a ticket. A chicken burrito with chips and a drink is a pretty easy order. how the hell do you forget both the chips and drink. Its a waste of my time and money. All I get in return is a free voucher for two bags of chips. When I order them I'm sure they'll somehow manage to get that wrong too. I don't want a voucher, I want my money back.

I wish I could give it a 0 I waited for over 1 hour which I timed myself for the meat to be cooked. The worker had no urgency and kept stepping away from the grill and coming back leaving some of the meat to burn. He was perhaps the laziest worker I have seen in a very long time. Being in the restaurant industry I know this is absolutely not how you run a business. Management needs to step in ASAP because this is unacceptable

I was craving Guac and Chips. Unfortunately I got the saltiest bag of chips. Inedible. So disappointed.

From the initial encounter, their customer service was absolutely poor. They refused to give me the amount equivalent to "double" when I requested a double veggie bowl. The place was not packed at the moment either, in fact, no one was behind me. Then, they gave half-full cups of on the side sour cream. If that weren't enough, I purchased guacamole... and they did not put in my bag. I am so disappointed with the behavior of this store. It does not uphold the normal chipotle standards and I will not be a customer at this store again. Please, never go to this chipotle.

This is what chipotle Mexican grill delivered to me.The dark green stuff is suppose to be guacamole, never again will I eat from there this dish is in the garbage.Smh!!

One of the better chipotles in the area. The serving sizes are pretty good compared to most chipotles I've been to. Cleanliness is pretty spot on as well. Quick & efficient process with no lines. Couldn't ask for more

Much improved chipotle location. I've been ordering from this place again for the past 2 weeks off and on and the orders are made accurately. Before the rice was sometimes undercooked but it's but now it's perfect. Also the tables are cleaner now despite the busy restaurant. Meat quantity has improved and not easily countable on 10 fingers. I received 9 cubes of meat before plus some scraps..

Best customer service first time at this location allowed me to even try a steak I haven't had before ! Loved them

My recent experiences with Chipotle were disasters, so it was a welcome change to get good, polite people and good food. We stay in Harrison and have very bad experiences with the Chipotle at Kearny Avenue, to a point where we got chicken in vegetarian dishes. So we were skeptical to order again from another Chipotle. My wife went to pick up the food, the staff who didn't want get to enter the store sure to Covid safety were nice, helpful and polite. Since she we had parked across the street, the lady at the door even guided her on the safe way to get across. So thanks to the staff for making us to trust Chipotle again. We went on Saturday, January 16 in the afternoon

I was so happy to see Chipotle opening up in Newark. But what the fudge! I am a big fan of Chipotle but this place disappoint in terms of quality. I ordered steak burrito two different occasions, and both time, the steak was chewy and lack flavor. I don't mind the lack of flavor but the steak should never be chewy. The chicken also lack some flavor. Both times I came here after 7pm, so that might play a factor as to why the meat is not up to par. Unlike some restaurants in the downtown area, this place is open late. And the prices are fair. But unfortunately I have to be desperate to get Chipotle here. I don't like being disappointed by Chipotle. This place needs to get it together.

I do not recommend this location, if I could give zero stars I would. There is no organization, no responsible or qualified management and employees. I placed a order online, and after wait almost 20 min waiting for the order I was served a wrong order. When I returned from the office to ask for a refund I was denied for the refund and was forced to leave without a refund. It is highly frustrating places like this working without proper management, qualified personal. This is completely unacceptable.

Really nice food and very good customer service. The other day I had placed an order online for pick up and when I got there someone had stolen my food. But one of the workers said it was ok and they made my entire order in 5 minutes. Very good work.

Worst chipotle ever Meat is always served cold and the chips and guacamole are stale The line for the bathroom HAS A HORRIBLE WAIT TIME One room/stall. for both genders. The women are using the MENS room for god sake Workers have no gusto no energy and definitely don't want to be there . They throw unabashedly throw ingredients into the bowl way too damn fast. Slow down its not a race. For a place being on the east coast there is no air conditioning and that pissed me off. It's summer time in jersey and you're warming up the place cooking. Fix the AC IN HERE . My Nantucket orange was warm before I sat down. That's how hot inside the restaurant was. This place may want to check the temperature of the beverage refrigerator before serving room temperature to customers. That's a health hazard. Furthermore the holding container for the cooker chicken should be checked too. Never have I see so much food dropped in the steaming trays Hire more professional cooks here to handle a crowd not teenagers. Talk about worst worst worst This place gets a lot of traffic being so close to prudential center and penn station.r

As someone who travels to Newark quite a bit for concerts, I love the option for quick food I can bring back to my hotel, or eat before a show. This Chipotle is a favorite of mine for a few reasons. The staff is friendly and efficient, it's always clean with plenty of seats, and food is always fresh. If you're in the area looking for a cheaper option I recommend you eat here.

I ordered a large guacamole and chips. The guacamole was old and the chips were over salted and stale. I was so disgusted. I will never eat here again.

I've been to a good 20 chipotles, easily the worse one. Empty at 7pm.. i ask to use the rest room before i place my order bc it was a long drive from NY. She points to the restroom then says the code is on the receipt. I'm like i realy have to go and I'm really going to order. NOPE. I had to order both my burritos squishing my legs together bc i had to go so bad. Ya should be ASHAMED that people can't use the restroom before they order like ya pressed for money. Not to mention the food was HORRIBLE. COLD like outside in NY smh, i was so pissed. Workers standing around and should be making sure the food hot!

For the most part this place is empty except unless there is something happening at Prudential. I can see why people steer clear. Working downtown it was nice to see Chipotle was soon to be a lunch option. Unfortunately most of the time I've come to buy my lunch when they scoop my chicken onto my bowl the chicken on the spoon doesn't make its way onto my bowl. So they are not only serving me "4 oz" they are serving me even less. I wish they would serve the appropriate portions.

This chipotle is always busy at lunch time! Right on a busy street of Newark, by the Prudential Center and Penn Station. I've ordered online for pick up. First time the machines were acting up so they made my order upon arrival. Second time it was ready but it wasn't an even amount of fillings for the burrito and bowl.

Typical Chipotle besides the fact that every time I choose to eat at the restaurant a person come in soliciting. Plus, multiple times one of the staffers has got into in argument with a solicitor, homeless person, etc. I definitely think this location would benefit from having a security guard at the door or something.

I'm very confused on why the recent reviews here are relatively low. Ive been to this Chipotle many of times and everytime I go the service is pleasant, they bang out even the longest lines, it's always super clean and the dine in area is spacious. The only complaint that I do have is they aren't necessary generous when it comes to portioning out the meat (I think it's a company policy thing). To prevent any tension I just ask for extra meat (which is an extra $2.15), but it's worth it.

This Chipotle isn't any different from any other one. Reviews I see are suggesting that the food quality is this or that. To me it's Chipotle if your ever been to one this one is no different and I myself love it. I always get double steak bowl and it's consistent with every other Chipotle I've been too. The young staff may be inexperienced but they do their best and aren't rude. Everytime I have a taste for Chipotle which is at least once a week it's comforting to know I have one in walking distance that I can rely on.

Worst experience ever....After waiting in line and having a "customer" accuse me of not being in the proper line, one of the staff behind the counter asked for my order; I told him what I wanted. When I moved down to pay, they inform me that my order wasn't prepare & to move down a few steps and give my order to the other useless staff member...I ended up walking out. Will never visit this establishment again. Very unprofessional people working behind the counter.

The two times I have ordered from here they have messed up my order and I ended up throwing the food away. Don't order from here!

Food is fine however, this review is mainly for their delivery service. Chipotle delivers through DoorDash. My food arrived 30mins past the estimated delivery time, totaling my wait to 1.5 hours. Of course, the food was cold by this time. Delivery cost was $3.99, definitely NOT WORTH it. Might as well have picked up my food myself. Never using their delivery service again. Avoid at all cost.
