We needed a good stopping point on our road trip up the East Coast and searched local breakfast places. This place hit all of our expectations and more! Very unique flavored pancakes - it was hard to make a choice! We ended up with the Pistachio Pancakes, the German Apple Pancakes, the Pineapple Upside Down Pancakes and then the Cubano Omelet (fluffy style). Everything was top-notch and our server Nikki took great care of us. We would certainly come back if we found ourselves in the area again!

Very popular brunch spot and while the parking lot was full, surprisingly, there were still tables available with no wait! Great place for families and they can accommodate large parties. Lots of yummy pancake options! Service was a little slow, but understandable since it’s so busy.

Great, friendly service, very clean, cozy atmosphere, food was excellent! I had the the Mediterranean bowl with Greek chicken. Chicken was juicy and tender, healthy blend of grains, tomatoes, cucumbers, feta! I requested no onions and the waitress got my order right. Will definitely come back!

Nice neighborhood family restaurant... went for Sunday lunch/brunch. Place was fairly busy and we waited 15 minutes before being seated. Breakfast served all day, I had the corned beef hash and eggs, they were tasty. Reasonably priced and there were plenty of options for everyone.my wife got a BLT and her cousin had Fish n Chips. Think Crackerbarrel, but local family restaurant not giant franchise chain restaurant and no annoying gift shop

Went to Chips for breakfast. We were seated. There was no silverware on the table. Food came and still no silverware to eat I had to ask 4 time for silverware before I got it all while our food was getting cold. Service SUCKS! How did they expect us to eat with our hands? On the other hand the bill came quick. I almost didn't leave a tip.

We moved to Orange 5 years ago, with a dream of raising our family here. As soon as our son discovered his love for pancakes and could sit in high chair, we have spent every Saturday morning at Chips. Besides the amazing food and welcoming atmosphere, the staff is what keeps us coming. At an early age, our son had to wear a DOC Band. While it was temporary, the smiles that greeted him (and continue to greet him) will always hold a special place in our heart. He was never treated different than other kids in the restaurant. As two working parents, we look forward to starting our weekend at a local spot that is family owned. We truly believe it’s our job to keep our local places in business and the only way that happens is by supporting them. When our family visits, we bring them along and just ask for a bigger table. And quite frankly, our Saturday plans adjust around breakfast at Chips. Thank you for being such big part of our family’s memories. We are forever grateful.

This is definitely the nicest Chip’s location I’ve been to! My friends and I sat outside on the patio, and the staff was really nice about letting us switch to a different table when a bee wouldn’t leave us alone. The food came out quickly and was all delicious. I really love their pancakes and syrup! I would definitely come back for breakfast again!

Better late than never! Since there wasn't time for a really good breakfast this morning, we decided to have breakfast for lunch. The omelettes were piping hot and delicious. Pancakes and the warm comforting oatmeal hit the spot. Service was good and the ambience is fun. Surprisingly there were many people having breakfast in the middle of the day!

I had such a good breakfast here this morning! Even though they were busy the service was still great and efficient! They were very careful when I requested gluten free items to accommodate my allergy. My friend and I both ate large breakfasts with a variety for a very reasonable price. We sat in a nice booth by the window. It was all lovely!

Went for breakfast, the line was out the door, but we managed to get seated pretty quickly. The waitress was fast and friendly. It was busy inside and a little noisy but wasn't make or break. The pancakes were so fluffy and fresh! The coffee was hot and my cup was topped off. Will definitely visit again.

2x2x2x2 breakfast option has a good balance of food. Everything you need to enjoy a meal. I add banana to my pancakes for some extra sweetness. Service is always spot on. Feel welcomed! Outdoor dining is my favorite.

I've seen the billboards for years and finally visited, specifically for pancakes. Their pancakes are amazing. I had the pineapple upside down special. Coffee was delicious. I ordered the short stack but still went into a pancake coma afterwards. Great place.

The service was great and we got a seat very quick we got straight at it and the food was excellent bussin everybody I would see if you can come here it is very very good and a lot of seats and I ate all the Mac and cheese and just French fries. And my dad ate everything to so yea nice job chips we will be back

Enjoyed a delicious breakfast here this morning! It feels like a family diner with traditional and creative menu items. I ordered the short stack (3) pumpkin cinnabon walnut pancakes, an autumn special, and they were absolutely delicious!! The service here was excellent, both friendly and quick. We came during the week around 9am and we were out in 45 minutes. Highly recommend!

By far the best Chips location! The staff is always super attentive and friendly. The food is consistently delicious. The pancakes are fluffy, omelets can be made fluffy or diner style, and meat is cooked well. The menu is huge so come with an empty stomach. There is tons of seating, including an outdoor patio, which is comfortable.

My kids love coming to this place when I'm in the area. They always have amazing pancake options and flavors. I tried their new lemon raspberry pancake which was epic. Perfect fluffy pancakes with Lemon poppy buttermilk batter with white chocolate chips & a raspberry icing glaze. The service is great, you get the family business vibes from all the workers. This place does get super busy in the mornings especially during the weekend. If you're a pancake lover I'm sure there is a couple options that will make you happy.

For years my wife and I have passed this place, always appeared to be packed and we finally tried. Safe to say we are now obsessed. We've since been here twice in the past week and it has been just as good both times. It has the mom and pop feel to it, great service and even better food. We have not tried any lunch yet, stayed true to breakfast. I prefer the 2x2x2x2 meal. That's two pancakes, eggs, toast, sausage, bacon served with a side of home fries. It's the best value in my opinion, I've left absolutely stuffed both times. I love it all, pancakes are fresh, eggs are tasty and the home fries are incredible. Both times we've been have also been short waits, place is huge and they have plenty of seating tables and booths.

Four of us came here for breakfast & did we enjoy it. The coffee is also very good here. It was our server's first day on the job & he was terrific. He handled his first day like a pro.

I would be surprised if anything bad was said about this reaturaunt. Pancakes are excellent and they also have good lunch and dinner.

Not as good as it used to be. The home fries need some seasoning. The vegan pancakes (which my daughter needed because of egg allergy) were very disgusting. You couldn't cut them as they just stuck together and looked gooey inside. The service was quick, and it appears they have remodeled since the last time I have been there.

I'm a regular at the Fairfield location, and was pleased to say that the Orange location is just as good! It's a little bit larger, but the food is just as tasty. We ordered a range of items, from the strawberry, banana and Nutella pancakes (delicious), crab cake eggs Benedict (also great) and omelettes. Highly recommended, best diner in the area!

This measures up to the experience I come to expect from Chip's Family Restaurant. The service was quick, the options were plentiful and the breakfast was filling. We were able to get in and out and the food was delicious. The 2x2x2 hit the spot and the avocado toast was a perfect size. The restaurant was clean and bright.

Great family restaurant for a good breakfast. We went on a busy Saturday morning and we were acknowledged right away even though there was a line. They were super fast getting us seated and the food came quickly. The menu is extensive and it was all good! The restaurant is large with a lively ambiance. Great for groups or on your own.

We showed up (called 1 hr ahead) with 15 people for a birthday breakfast. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. They checked with me to make sure we were all good. Our waitress Sheila (I hope I got that right) was amazing! The food was great the birthday pancake was over the top. We've been going to chips for years but today made us all great fans. Thanks you chips. You help make my wife the happiest person in the world It's what a great restaurant is about. Good food. Good service and great value. We all guessed way over the actual price. lol. We will always be back.

Chips in Orange, CT definitely has the fun family diner vibe going on. It was packed at 9am when it came to parking but then I got inside and only seen a few tables filled and so I assume the building next door had some employees that just wanted to park at Chips? (shrug) After being seated, my waiter Johnathan came out with the drinks that I had ordered and though I was here to review the pancakes, the menu had a lot going on that I wanted to try and so let us begin with the Chicken Fajita Omlette. It's like the plain white t-shirt of breakfasts. Reliable but far from thrilling. The chicken lacked zest, as if it forgot to RSVP to the flavor party and the fajita seasoning played hide and seek in every bite. While it won't win any culinary awards, it'll do in a pinch. Just don't expect fireworks.....Maybe just a polite golf clap if anything. Now the side of Bacon? Yes!! Just the right amount of fat, a great applewood smoked flavor and enough crispiness to appease any bacon lover. That pig didn't live in the projects.....It was raised on a vibrant farm somewhere....a nice farm where the pigs know each other by name...you could taste it. Damn, now that I type that out, I can just see the Vegans rolling their eyes at this very review....No worries, we love y'all around here too!! Nothing about the toast made me do any backflips. White bread toasted up with a small amount of butter. Soft to the bite and crispy on the ends....there you have it folks....TOAST. I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into my Cinnabon style pancakes. From the moment these heavenly pancakes grace your plate, the aroma of warm cinnamon swirls around you like a comforting hug from Grandma's kitchen. Each bite is a symphony of flavors, with the sweet and spicy notes of cinnamon dancing harmoniously with the fluffy pancake batter. It made my nipples tingle a little bit, I won't even lie. The texture is pure perfection; soft and pillowy, yet with a slight crispiness around the edges that adds a delightful contrast. Oh!!! Let's NOT forget about the gooey cinnamon filling, oozing out with every bite like molten lava from a delicious volcano of flavor. Now top it all off with a generous drizzle of creamy icing that cascades down the stack of pancakes like a delicious waterfall of sweetness, tying the whole experience together in a blissful marriage of taste and texture!!! Breakfast was a solid A+. Bacon was perfectly well done , pancakes were like the perfect size and thickness. Weren't to thick so the stack was fine . Eggs were scrambled but they came like a flat egg sandwich. So I just cut them in pieces. But A+ as well. lunch. Was ok. Got turkey burgers and fries. Very generic tasting. No reel flavor to anything. But it wasn't bad. This place is definitely at breakfast place. That happens to do lunch also. . Definitely eat here. It's not bad at all.

The service was good...but some of the food items were old. The ice cream had chunks of ice in it. The onion rings were broken & stuck together scraps. Even the bun on my burger was dry. Ironically, because the burger was actually cooked well & was tasty. Apparently, they need to clean out some stock items. The chocolate chip pancakes made my daughter sick. I suspect the batter wasn't well kept. The gyro bread had a doormat thickness to it. It was soaked in oil, and toasted. Also, Cool Whip, just isn't the same as whipped cream...& sprinkles, DON'T go on milk shakes. Party of six. $112. tab. You shouldn't have to be subject to a night on the bowl, for what's considered comfort food.

This was the best pancakes I've ever had in my life. I highly recommend the cinabon pancakes, they were so fluffy and a little crunchy in the middle. The service was also amazing all of the workers were extremely nice too! 10/10 recommend. Harvard Volleyball LOVES Chip's!

Our daughter goes to New Haven and this is our MUST STOP for breakfast for every trip to school!! Best breakfast! Vegan/gluten free pancakes are a great plus for me! But all their food is amazing!!

I traveled over 90 minutes to try the cinnabun pancakes after seeing a YouTube review. I entered and was immediately greeted and taken to my booth. The restaurant has a very welcoming and modern look. My server promptly came to my table. He was polite and kept my coffee filled. Of course I ordered the cinnabun pancakes. These are by far the best pancakes I have ever eaten. Perfectly sweet, and the crunch. I was so disappointed when my plate was empty. I also ordered the Chipper omlete. Bacon, mushroom, avocado, and cheese. It was decent, but a hard act to follow after those pancakes. I highly recommend and will drive another 90min one way to eat here again.

It was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming. The staff was attentive and kind. The food was so tasty! My whole family enjoyed all of their dishes. The kids talked about their respective dishes for hours afterwards. And we are from Virginia traveling to Massachusetts and my kids wanted to come back! At the very least my youngest said that the "needed to open a CHIPS in our hometown". Thank you to the manager that made sure we felt welcome.

Great place for breakfast food on Route 1. Delicious fare with so many options. I chose 2 x 2 x 2 x 2. Better than Denny's Grand Slam. I chose: 2 fried eggs, dry whole wheat toast, home fries, two sausage links and two bacon strips, two fluffy buttermilk pancakes served with REAL maple syrup. Yum

First time here. Pancakes were the best we've had. Great breakfast and great service! We'll be back!

Chip's is par excellence on ALL fronts. We began eating there because of the dedicated gluten free food preparation.

Met my best friend, Pots & Pans (AKA Locomotive Breath) for an early lunch. He drove up from Queens, I traveled sobo from Windsor Locks. Ever since he saw a billboard on I-95 many years ago, proclaiming Chip's as the best pancake in CT, it's been on his bucket list. Helps that he's a voracious pancake eater, where eating 10 or 12 is just a warmup for him. Our server, Zak, started us off with coffee (Pots) and a water (me). Pots ordered a build your own pancake w walnuts, pecans, and blueberries. I ordered healthy (maybe for the first time ever). Popeye's breakfast, w a side of turkey bacon. My 2 side pancakes were blueberry. When Zak asked if I wanted whipped cream, I said "sure". So much for the healthy option. Although I'm not much of a pancake person, I have to say they were very light, among the best I've ever had. And my omelet was eggggcellent. Pots inhaled his stack in about three bites (I don't think he even used a knife and fork) along with most of the container of pure VT maple syrup. Service was impeccable. I had never seen Pots turn down a coffee refill before. But after about 5 cups, he finally said "no mas". All-in-all, a great breakfast, w great service. Orange CT is the original location. There are three or four others spread across CT.

I ordered a bacon omelette with cheese, what I received was the color white and smell like fish. Completely inedible. The Five pancake meal came with three pancakes and really I'm just feeling very dissatisfied for a $50 breakfast with a five dollar tip. I was in the store for less than one minute. It's not like there's more money in the budget for another breakfast from a different restaurant

First time visit. As my husband is a celiac, trying a new restaurant can be risky as he has been "glutened" several times dining out. Our waitress was a newly diagnosed celiac and was very helpful and reassuring, as was the manager who stopped by to assure that the kitchen would take precautions. The "breakfast for dinner " meal he had was both generous and delicious. He was thrilled to find another place to eat safely.

Received my refund! Thank you. Hope the French toast will be better next time we order for takeout.

Family of four visiting from MA, we ordered a bit of everything. And EVERYTHING tasted good. S'mores, strawberry shortcake, and vegan pancakes, as well as chicken Francaise with mashed potatoes, French toast and home fries. Butter is fresh, homemade whipped butter, Vermont maple syrup. Kitchen is clearly scratch made and incredible. As is the staff. Will be back!

I took my mom here for breakfast after her doctor appointment. She's due for a knee replacement and has a very hard time walking. The restaurant was easily accessible with her walker and we were able to park fairly close in a handicap spot. We were immediately offered the closest booth once it was cleaned off, which was done very quickly. Our waiter was very pleasant, our food came out quickly and was delicious. Overall a good experience. Of course that may be in part to her getting some extra sympathy attention lol

Great food family run. Tremendous service have been coming here for about 15 years love the place very family, friendly, relaxed atmosphere and outdoor dining under umbrella tables in good weather quality tremendous prices very reasonable selection out of this world if you like omelettes French toast or any type of pancake, you can imagine, plus almost every other breakfast or lunch combination you can think of this is a great place. I highly recommend it.
