Chiquita's Tamarindo

10 stars for the ambiance and live music. We discovered this place on our last night and we were so sad that we had missed it the whole week. What a gem. When we visited, Nablo (Natalie and Pablo) were singing and playing and it was simply wonderful. The manager/owner, Manolo of Kingston, was very attentive and welcoming. And the food was scrumptious. I had the tastiest guacamole. The Tuna tradito was actual chunks of tuna , very filling and delicious. The cocktails were very good too. This is a must-visit in Tamarindo.

The food was very good, a bit more upscale Mexican vs traditional. The enchiladas en carne were very good! I just prefer traditional with beans and rice, but still very good. Our server, Juan Carlos was fantastic, and very helpful with gluten free / celiac inquiries

We had a wonderful dinner at Chiquitas. The service was incredible. As locals, we’ve tried a ton of restaurants in Tamarindo. Oftentimes, the service is a little lackluster. That is not the case here. Every single server was hospitable, kind, and happy! The food was also delicious. There are not many Mexican options in Tamarindo and I can say that this is my favorite one! We tried the birria tacos, arranchera tacos, rock shrimp, and guacamole and chips. Everything was delicious! The live music was lovely to listen to in the background. It wasn’t too loud or overpowering. Thank you Juan Carlos for your excellent service. We will be back because of how nice he was. 🥳🙏

Unfortunately, this Mexican restaurant was a disappointment. First of all, the fans were blowing strongly directly onto the tables. We asked several times for them to be turned off or at least adjusted, but nothing was done. The food is expensive for what it is. We had seafood tacos, which were very small portions, especially considering the price, although the seafood itself was tasty. The chicken mole came in a more reasonable portion, but it was dry. It was also strange that while I was still eating my appetizer and there were only a few bites left, the plate was taken away without asking. There is only one female and one male restroom, which is not sufficient for a place of this size. On the positive side, the service was kind and there was pleasant live background music. Overall, it’s okay for a one-time visit, but it does not offer good value for money.

I am from Las Vegas and the attention to detail was very thorough and thoughtful. I absolutely loved this restaurant. It was my favorite out of all the dining options near Tamarindo Beach! I ate here 3 nights in a row. The ambience is truly breathtaking. The drinks and food were incredible. Muy delicioso! The staff is amazing too. Special thanks to Santos, Allison and Byron for making me feel special on my 40th birthday. Shout to the music 🎶 duo “On Vacation”! Lovely vibes! Pura Vida!

We recently hired Chiquita’s for our wedding. At our first meeting we saw pictures of what to expect. It looked amazing and we decided to go forward. On the day of the wedding , the smell of the food the presentation was so good. All our guests loved the presentation and the food quality. If you are having an event don’t hesitate using this company.

This restaurant was amazing. We went here two nights in a row for the delicious food and drinks. The vegetarian menu had top knotch options as well. Allison and Santos were incredibly friendly and polite. They are very sincere and welcoming. 12/10 recommend.

Chiquitas was such a vibe! The atmosphere is very boutique feel. Chino and Santos was so kind and friendly. Chino made the best Espresso Martini I’ve had since staying in Costa Rica. Santos killed it with the Passion Fruit and Tamarindo Margarita. The food was amazing and fulfilling. We would definitely come back. Ask for Chino and Santos 🤪
