On the Grid : Chiquitito

"Chiquitito is a beautiful, cozy coffee shop where you can have one of the best specialty coffee expressos. This fair trade mexican business takes care of the whole process beginning with their relationship with the producer and the way they treat coffee beans to the barista training and the cup that you will enjoy in the end. I highly recommend to try Chiquitito Coffee, which mixes an espresso shot with condensed milk: absolutely delicious. Besides, they have a great selection of magazines to read while you are enjoying one of the best cups of coffee of the city." - Arlette Go

As its name states, “Chiquitito” is a very small coffee shop chain that delivers some of the best coffee in CDMX. They work with some of the best local origins and roasteries, including some custom roasts made exclusively for Chiquitito. They deliver excellent coffee and amazing breakfast options. The baristas are friendly and very well trained. They also have a selection of pastries, coffee products, and their own honey.

Such a sincere and cozy location. Definitely a lovely place to get coffee and other food options.

Google
Good coffee, terrible service, I’m not sure why, perhaps the staff don’t get their morning coffee lol it would explain their poor attitude En respuesta a la respuesta: hablo español con fluidez - no es el caso

This small cafe is a good place to start your day. Popular with locals who work in the offices close by, for coffee and a quick breakfast. Limited seating options. But decent food and coffee.

I used to frequent here often for my iced coffees and sandwiches but recently the service and products here have been very poor. It is strange to treat regular customers like they are inconveniencing them when you are buying their product! I requested a dash more milk in my iced coffee as it was too strong and they asked me for $50 pesos, obviously scamming me, when making it with oat milk it is $20 pesos which I already paid. This is a hospitality industry and this treatment is not customer friendly and makes me incredibly upset. The food takes too long to arrive and there seem to be a lot of people working but slow service. Tip to staff; Improve the attitude life is not that bad and not all about money

This is a cozy little place a few blocks from the Chapultepec entrance, with very cute outdoor tables as well. Great coffee, hot chocolate and breakfast goodies - we hit this multiple times during our stay in CDMX! Would definitely recommend trying their avocado toast. This does tend to get busy during the morning rush hour, so might have slightly longer wait times - however the staff is always super friendly and cheerful :)

Google
Chiquitito mi favorito!♥️ This cafe became my favorite one since I arrived in Ciudad de México! It’s one and only place where I can enjoy the taste of coffee - it’s unique! Also, I liked granola, cheesecake de limón, croissant. The staff there is so friendly, they know what an excellent service means. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I ordered a mocha and caramel latte with oat milk. The mocha lacked chocolate flavor and there is more milk than lattes made in America. The caramel latte was much better in flavor. I recommended this cafe to my friends and they mentioned the line gets longer around 10am. I do enjoy their aesthetic like other reviews mention.

Yelp
Coffee is decent. The cafe is really small and cute like the name! Friendly staff. Doesn't have cafe de olla.

Yelp
Such a cute little coffee shop! We got the iced chai expressions, an iced vanilla latte, and an iced matcha latte. We also got pastries. They were delicious! The service was great! Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Employees are fantastic very energetic and friendly !! I get an LA vibe, all their coffee are hand crafted drinks made with extra love. We also order the mulette it was a cross between a torta and a baguette stuff with beans and melted cheese served with pico de gallo and a creamy avocado green salsa .. I would skip the food here (at least the dish we got), but the drinks are fantastic

Yelp
I was checking out this upscale neighborhood and this cute little cafe popped-up in my search. This cafe is really more of a boutique coffee shop than a full-fleged cafe, which makes it nice. I noticed they have both coffee and pastries, so I ordered a small cafe Americano and blueberry muffin. There are roughly four tables with chairs all set-up outside along the sidewalk, and fortunately for me it seemed like everyone was ordering their coffee to go. It was alright, there are some umbrellas which provide a little protection from the hot March sun. I had a relaxing time, just people watching and checking out things on my cellphone. Everyone working here seems friendly and nice, and I did notice more expats, and I heard more English than what I'm used to. I think that it's due to the neighborhood.

Yelp
Very very good coffee in Roma Norte! This was the first coffee shop I found that had some syrups for their iced coffees lol. There's a few tables outside and near the door if you wanna sit and drink your coffee Very cute little coffee shop with high quality coffee beans

Yelp
Great coffee joint.. probably my second favorite in CDMX! Small bustling cafe with outstanding espresso, great espresso drinks & very good food. Place is busy so expect to wait a bit, they have a nice enclosed patio in front. Best drink I had was *Chiquitito* after a double espresso this was a real treat! So good I came back the next day for a repeat order. Great pastries & food too; prices dirt cheap! Must try in area/ talk later

Yelp
We stopped by Chiquitito for an afternoon espresso after a day of exploring el Bosque de Chapultepec! All of my touristing had me feeling knackered, and the espresso from this charming, tiny coffeeshop gave me a much needed pick-me-up! The service was great. They made the espressos quickly and brought them over to us in the seating area in the back. And the espresso was good! Exactly what I needed. A great little coffeeshop if you're in the area and need a bit of caffeine!

Yelp
Great cute little cafe with wonderful pastries and coffee. Highly recommend! Staff was great as well!

Yelp
An amazing little coffee shop in the Reforma section of Mexico City. It was a short walk from my hotel. I got a latte, banana bread and MOLLETES. Everything was great. But the MOLLETES were next level. I'd never had this dish before visiting CDMX but it's a baguette bread with refried black bean and melted cheese on top. It's amazing. The coffee was also really good. The banana bread was excellent. Staff was super friendly and quick. Overall a great, quick breakfast while in Mexico City.

Yelp
Great coffee and great outdoor place to people watch. My favorite is the Cortado - very strong!

Yelp
Service was fast, and employees were very nice! And explained menu perfectly! I had the Chiquitito and was perfect! It's a cute small coffee shop! Very aesthetic!

Yelp
When it comes to coffee in CDMX and especially the heart of the city, you cannot skip Chiquitito! Roast was to perfectionc, extraction was wonderful, the brew was spot on, and the smile on the server's just makes the cherry on top of the cake!

Yelp
Cute, hip coffee shop on a random street in reforma! I came here one day searching for caffeine after going to the consulate and Chiquitito hit the spot. It's small but adorable and there is pleasant outdoor seating.i got to witness them making pancakes from scratch (even though they were not for me). The coffee was good, the cookie was a bit dry. The location on a busy street does make it exposed to some street-elements like a lot of noise and whatnot, but overall, still a solid place to get coffee and read a book.

Yelp
Perfect coffee shop for a grab and go breakfast. There's an extensive list of drinks with non-coffee and non-dairy options, as well as options for children (cookies and milk!). There's no menu for the pastries but they're set out around the cash register - I saw an assortment of breads including matcha bread, banana bread, and milk(?) bread, cookies, and pastries including croissants, elephant ears, and pan dulce. I ordered the cold brew and the milk bread, both of which were excellent. The cold brew is smooth and strong which complimented the sweet milk bread perfectly. There's limited seating in front of the coffee shop as well as a few tables in the back but the cafe was not crowded at 8:30 am on a weekday so it shouldn't be a problem to grab a seat- highly recommend people watching in the street!

Yelp
This is a nice little cafe I visited twice. The prices were fairly high, on par with the neighborhood. The coffee and food were nothing spectacular.

Yelp
Really, really good coffee. I'd end it there, but the atmosphere is also noteworthy. It's a tiny, narrow shop with seating outside, along the wall, and in the back (where there's room enough to spread out with a couple of laptops or books). The music is energetic but chill enough for working. One more reason to be glad for a visit to Mexico City!

Yelp
This is a nice little coffee shop among many business buildings. It gets busy during the day. The cafe latte and the matcha latte we got were both pretty good. Worthwhile coming if you are in the area, otherwise, there are better choices in Mexico city for coffee connoisseurs.

Yelp
My boyfriend did not like his expression, my café americano was ok. Cute little place, albeit chiquitito!

Yelp
Great vibe. Hidden gem located in the bustling city of Mexico! Wonderful location - right next to a famous churro joint. Great coffee and lattes. The service was top notch. The baristas spoke English pretty well! As a visitor, it was nice to find this welcoming, hip coffee place!! Definitely very LA... no complaints.

Yelp
This is the perfect place to relax and get out of the hustle and bustle of Mexico City. It's much more spacious than most cafes I visited in Mexico City which was a plus (woohoo, easy seating). The patio when the weather is great, is also so life giving. I had a simple cortado and the environment along with the caffeine gave me just the energy boost I needed to keep going with my daily activities. I'd highly recommend checking this place out!!

Yelp
Great place to work or chill. They have matcha latte with and without sugar, which is great. The chocolatin and the yoghurt bread with cardamom are delicious. I also enjoyed the atmosphere and the music (oldies and alternative music in English). The staff is really nice. Loved the decoration, especially the flowers! I worked for almost 4 hours, and most of the time it was quiet (before 5 pm on Saturday). The place is small and the tables too (like their name says chiquitito=tiny), but I like it. I don't drink coffee, but apparently it's really good. I wanna go back and try more desserts! It's a bit expensive ($100 MXN for matcha latte+bread), but it's worth it because they use good quality ingredients.

Yelp
Excellent little neighborhood coffee shop. Tried their Cortado and Cappuccino. Excellent!! Chocolates are good too

Yelp
This is a cute little cafe! Although, they were only playing mid 2000's throwbacks on the Friday morning we went there, which was pretty jarring at 9am in the morning, pre-coffee. This place has such good reviews, so maybe we just ordered the wrong thing, but this has to be one of the worst cold brews I've had to date. Very watery. Didn't even want to finish mine, honestly.

Yelp
I was in the area and wanted to try a good coffee spot. I didn't want to go to a big chain and found this place. It is quaint how I like a café. I came at the perfect time and was able to get a seat. It is small inside and there are a few seats outside. Back to the coffee. I got a latte with regular milk. YUM! the presentado was great. Thank you to the baristas! Cute and quaint.

Yelp
I feel compelled to leave an updated review for Chiquitito. After my first experience there ordering cold brew coffee and getting hot coffee poured over ice (and writing a review to reflect this experience), the manager reached out to me and invited me to try it again, assuring me they really do serve true cold brew coffee. So, late on Saturday morning, I stopped in to try it. It really was a different drink that I had gotten the first time! Cold, refreshing, and full of caffeine, it was a tasty cold brew. It was good enough to drink black (I typically add sugar and cream when coffee tastes a bit off). So, whatever happened to my first cup is a mystery, but the future is bright. My husband ordered a mocha and enjoyed that, too. More than anything, I was impressed that the manager is so interested in his customers' happiness. I think that's a great sign for Chiquitito.

Yelp
Great place to grab coffee. The staff here is so nice and the coffee tastes great. Their signature drink, the chiquitito is small but smooth and sweet. I also like the ambiance of this place and the small outside seating too.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious coffee and breads, super cute atmosphere with outlets and solid wifi. My favorites were cappuccino with soy milk, and the matcha bread/cake (panque de matcha). I was staying at the Sheraton nearby and came here every day.

Yelp
The coffee at Chiquitito is so good, why would anyone ever want to go to a Starbucks. There are many coffee options around CDMX and Chiquitito is at the top of my list when I go back. We ordered a simple almond milk latte. The baristas here understand that coffee should have its own flavor. It's all about the coffee flavor at Chiquitito

Yelp
For those out there that like a smooth cup of coffee that is not corporate and is local, try this place. I ordered a Cafe con leche (rice milk) with vanilla. Gracias!

Yelp
All I can say is that I am a coffee addict who basically travels to try different coffee, and this is my favorite coffee shop in Mexico City. I stop by every time I am in town. I also buy the coffee beans to bring back to the USA and they never disappoint. I lived in Mexico City for some time and used to spend a lot of time there with a laptop.

Yelp
Lovely baristas and servers. Did some work here and the coffee kept me going! Recommend: cold brew

Yelp
Great coffee and the staff is super friendly and inviting.

Yelp
Great coffee. Awesome staff. Cute little nook or patio to enjoy a coffee and pastry. Try the chai espresso, the frappuccino, or the delicious chocolate bars!
